super video again, and I really like the commenting as always. My favorite layout the GWR broad gauge, seen it a few times on video, hope to see it one day for reel. Also the vintage layout, good to see people treasure these old layouts, if you think when that was build modelers had only 1/3 of choice for the scenery as we have now, and still it's interesting to look at them…
Just to let the algorithm know I liked this. 🤣 Not seen a Britain's tree (like on the 1960s-built layout at the end) for years. Don't remember them looking quite so decent. Shame they're not still made, as the shapes were really good, and a bit of titivation with modern model leafery, they'd look really good. Beginning to think the mispronounced names are deliberate!
@@WesternSignalman That is my perception too. Can recall decades ago how my (then) club would hire a van to take one of the large layouts to an exhibition - even back then exhibition managers were starting to baulk at the cost. Struggling to recall the last really large layout I've seen at an exhibition.....
if you cant pronounce the lay-outs name ask the operator to speak and wright the name in phonetics , ect ; Lan-fair-????-go go goch , got it? well i did'nt have have a pen . Arthur
I think they should be more considerate and have the phonetics under the layout name or better still name them after a pet with some sort road name added to it like rover street or fluffy lane.
The phonetic alphabet is an intense study and using English phonemes problematic. I don't mind TODD-ma-den being pronounced Todd-MORE-don. Some Welsh speakers may prefer Thlann-Vy-ar (best I can go with English phonemes) to LAN-fair but then they may pronounce Cud-ERTH as CUD-worth. We just do what we can!

There wasn’t a lot of movement on it but the detail was so impressive and great there was so much to look at in those quiet moments

You do have the perfect voice for narating model railways, I do so enjoy the vids. I`ll make an effort to listen to the podcasts.
Well if you like my voice on the videos you’ll love it on the podcast 🤣 some say I have the face for a podcast aswell
Thanks for watching
Had a great morning at the show. caroline
It was a lovely show
Thank you sharing and seemingly rather different to Liverpool exhibition's offerings..... 👍
I bet I’d feel the same way about Liverpool’s offerings I do love great western but would be nice to see a bit more variety
@@WesternSignalman Is it just me or are we also seeing fewer large layouts these days?
@@ewhurstgreen we certainly are I think the cost of transporting to shows has resulted in an increase of branch and depot layouts

Keighley is pronounced Keith-ley however this looks to be a great show
Oh great now even place names are getting in on this identity politics 😆
@@WesternSignalman Hahaha it's just how it's pronounced by us northern lot 😂
