Great video and the comment is superb, I love your work. As a Belgian British train collector, this was one of the few events I was able to go to, and had a lovely time there. You always see great ideas at these events, and overal it's a lovely community to spend you time with, even if you're a foreigner . And also a big shout out "thank you" to the OO gauge live steam club who helped me to get my Silver Link come back alive. Anyway keep on making these lovely videos, I enjoy everyone you make, and it's a channel really worth while to subscribe to. So thank you very much… Cheers, Danny PS my favorite layout was "Richmond" this is the era I work in my self…
Thank you for your kind comments, I think you picked one of the best shows to come and see, it was just the right balance. We did stop off at the live steam but the boy insisted on filming it and unfortunately his footage was a bit too wobbly, but how great is it that they sorted your loco it’s certainly that spirit that makes these events great.
PS - no, I've nothing to do with bands of any sort! There are a lot of us about. The layout's name is Aix en Pains (say it aloud, aer kid, wl' a Black Country accent t' get the joke) not what the subtitle makes of it! And the engine is 'Caledonia', from the Isle of Man, hauling Manx Northern coaches. How they got to central France - well, just use some imagination...
Amazing layout with the WW2 docks composite! My great grandfather was in charge of WW1 operations at Soton docks, for which he was awarded MBE and King of Belgium medal. He could turn around a complete troop train and bring the next one in, in just 5 mins.
Wow that is impressive, now days the drive requires 10 Minutes just to walk to the break out area 😆you must be very proud of him. Overlord is incredible there’s so much detail to see it is truly impressive.
Excellent. One of the best show videos I’ve seen, complete with background commentary. I was on one of the stands so never got to see too much. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your kind words. You can thank the boy for the commentary when he was younger he’d talk all over the videos (as any excited child who loves trains would) and so I had to find a way to use the footage but hide his chatter. Thanks for watching
Thanks for another great upload TS featuring the trademark musical interludes. I think you have a second trademark now with your French pronunciation! Agree with you that Sandy Bay is a brilliant layout with lots of unexpected detail.
The owner of Aix n Pains said I needed to say it’s name in a brummy accent to get the joke 😂 I really like the Yorkshire coast so that layout has always appealed to me, and even the boy as I’m building him his own version of it (but great western of course). Thanks for your continued support
The Con Yard. L48 received my vote as the best layout at this show. It didn't stop there either as the stand it was on was innovative. I videod it for ages.
Sandy bay got mine it’s a particular favourite, but I agree the Con yard was so imaginative being built on the cab of a western and the various details going on, it shows you don’t need express passenger trains flying by to have an entertaining layout.
Thank you! Very enjoyable watch. You need to be careful though: The Boy will soon have his own RUclips channel and will be poaching all your subscribers.🤣
This was a lot calmer experience, if anything I found it to be quieter than last year, still busy but by 2 in the afternoon numbers had definitely decreased and was very easy to get near layouts and stalls. GETS was just crazy this year, the quality of layouts between the two was the same, personally I think GBMRS had the edge on traders as there was more variety and I managed to get some bargain models, two of which are like hens teeth online and all the electronic components I needed, which was lacking at GETS.
I don't know how to contact you except by posting here. Would you be prepared to make a dedicated video just of my layout? It will be at Alton, Abingdon and Aylesbury in 2024.
If have an @outlook.com account for westernsignalman if you want to email me. I should hopefully be attending the Abingdon show not sure about Aylesbury yet

Thank you, guys. I'll see much more of the show on here than I actually could as an exhibitor.

Just had a couple of gos and got it 😆 glad you enjoyed the video, the boy certainly enjoyed your layout.
Con Yard is Magnificent!
It’s a great concept for a layout and so well detailed (and gives those old Lima westerns a purpose 😆)

As ever excellent

Excellent presentation again. Thank you, and "the boy".
Thanks Tony, hopefully I’ve got over the sound problems on this one.
@@WesternSignalman Yes, the sound was far better, thanks.
Wow great video you are the best I’ve watched your 009 build 3 times keep up the great work from anthony
Thank you very much Anthony glad you have been enjoying the videos

@WesternSignalman I thought you'd like Con Yard. I was fascinated looking at all the little bits and pieces as well as these wonderful locomotives
It’s the parish council chairman again!
Nope, just a western signalman I’m afraid 😁
Thank you! Very enjoyable watch.
You need to be careful though: The Boy will soon have his own RUclips channel and will be poaching all your subscribers.🤣
I do believe that’s his plan 😂
So do you think anything was different or better/worse than GETs?
Although I was planning on attending this show, GETs had sort of worn me down tbh.
Hehe - your commentary is starting to become more entertaining than the layouts 🤣
Thanks, I do try 😆

Got to be honest I have no idea what you’re going on about but thanks for watching my video hopes you liked the layouts.
Surely you could refer to “The boy” by his name.
I’d (and my wife) would rather the internet not know his name, not whilst he’s young.
