    Glad I didn't go! I would be broke now! looks amazing, shame about the excessive car parking charge

      Car parking charges is the reason I didn't go. I live not far away from the NEC. It's a disgrace.

      It was a great event though - one of the happiest I've exhibited at for a long time. Something for almost everybody.

      Park at the train station and walk across to the NEC (a few minutes walk). It's still not cheap but it's quite a bit cheaper than the NEC itself.

    After pre-booking tickets and car parking to save some money, I went with a friend and had an amazing time at the show. Some of the detailed modelling was very impressive as was all the help on hand with the ability to ask plenty of questions too. Pete Waterman was very accessible and his love of trains was there to see. But must say by the Sunday afternoon he and all the others looked well and truly knackered. 👏👏👏

      And there is the thing. With millions of quid to hand one could build a nice railway. A very nice one tbh and I have seen first hand how well many superstars live and do not have too many issues on that, but I think some cash could be injected into getting fans to the venues alongside , stuff mega stars do as hobbies, as I find that rather intrusive.

    An excellent presentation, thank you! It’s great to see (and “feel”) what the show was like. We’re unable to attend such events because my wife is in a wheelchair and crowds make it impossible to comfortably view the layouts not to mention those #£&3*”” people that forget that they have a rucksack on their backs!

      Glad you enjoyed the video and thanksforwatching, I agree with you about bags, avoiding losing a eye to a backpack is a skill I had to develop going to these shows and the same at preservation railways too

    As the owner of St Fayre Rhianne (27.32) can I thank you for your footage of my layout? You got some really good shots. Everything you see (I suppose you could include the operators) is scratch built, mostly from scrap materials. (Definately so in the case of the operators.)
    Little Cote d'Or No 504, the grey Corpet Louvet, is getting to be something of a film star - she's on just about every film of the layout on youtube.

    Are Hornby going into 009?

    • @greasyrails
      @greasyrails  4 месяца назад +1

      I think the 009 was part of the hornby magazine stand they were all together, I think hornby should as its increased popularity, but they seem to be concentrating on TT

    Went on Saturday thought the entrance fee £19.00 was excessive very crowded advertised as model show 95 per cent trains they had a show a few months ago.

      35 model railway exhibits and 35 scale model exhibits plus 70 trade stalls in both sides of the hobby. Tell me how that equals 95% railways?!

      If it worked and on time $19.00 entrance fee may be a better deal than a 1 hour trip on British rail do.. were the sandwiches stale to make it more authentic and the toilets blocked up😊

      I can only think the £19.00 fee was because of the cost of hiring the NEC as the venue
