More research on these substances that was NEVER conducted needs to be done. If legalized, regulated, and for medicinal, under supervision. @@lindamichigan5471 Schizophrenia (now called schizoaffective disorder) is NOT a violence-causing condition. Do a handful turn violent? Sure. But that's a handful- out of thousands. People who suffer from mental illnesses are more likely to be victims of violent crimes rather than perpetrators- such as the more-than-a-handful of cases where police officers have shot people who have ASD, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, GAD, major depression, and more. Merely having schizoaffective disorder should not be a reason to get thrown in jail. If you do really want people who deal with mental illnesses to receive help, then you can start helping by not perpetuating harmful stereotypes. People won't wanna give tax dollars to mental health services if they think any patient who receives those services is just a killer waiting to strike. Educate the public and treat the patients. Forcing a criminal record on someone for a condition they didn't ask for? Unacceptable.

Can’t be trespassed from public property without committing a crime…. Also the complainant can’t be the police. The entire charge was bogus and why they ended up trying to give him just a ticket to CYA. It’s bs. He has every right to Shane there. They’re punishing his disease and his likely mental situation. It’s sad and pathetic. FTP.

That female detention officer always seems to be so kind and empathetic to the women that come through. She's a real gem and I'm sure the women that come through the system appreciate her not making them feel worse than they already do. These women are sisters, daughters, friends and mothers so they're important in someone's life, even if they don't feel that way at the time. It's so sad to see them so vulnerable, but I'm happy that the female officer is empathetic and understanding of situation.
