Since the oil filter sits so high, change out the filter first. Place the drain pan under it of course. Then once you have the new filter on, work back to the drain plug and drain the oil out. Found it to be easier this way and saves time.
If you do it this way it might drip on you while you go to empty the drain plug, there's a reason for the order but I suppose it depends on your preference
@@AstronautProduces it won't, as long as you complete the oil filter first and install the new one. The new filter will be clean and dry and won't be dripping anything, leaving you free to focus on the drain plug.
i envy the start stop button system on a 2011 fiesta, we only have that option in 2013 facelift type in Indonesia.. and the oil is cheap too.. motul specific here cost $35-40 for 4 liters..

If you can’t unscrew it by hand you can purchase oil filter pliers to help loosen and get it off. When screw on the new oil filter you always want to go hand tight no need to use tools to tighten it.
