As someone who bakes for a living in a sweet shop, butter is never needed to make condensed milk. You only need sugar and whole milk.

but I think the butter makes the condensed milk quicker. without the butter will take more than 35minutes with 1 liter of milk.

U rlly don't need butter just use two cups of milk and wait till it boils then add a cup of sugar and stir until it's consistency is thin then let it boil and put in freeze until it cools (it will also thicken it up) take it out and thank me :)

Sugar in some countries comes in chunks or dried in shells of coconuts, not granulated or powdered. Powdered sugar is just lost in translation here, I think.

What temp heat and for how long it says 15 mins in title but is these that from time heat on also when you say sugarc must dissolve are you saying before heat is on or after im sorry confusing
Yep everything is good except I have no idea if the heat is on low or off in first part and then how high it should be boiling, and do you stir the whole time? At what point is it ready to be taken off, what kind of consistency? I wish whoever made this had a link for full recipe, cause you can only fit so much into a clip.
I’m attempting to make it right now, tried another recipe and it didn’t work. So here goes #2! I am stirring and dissolving the sugar into the milk, then will turn on low for 1-2 mins, then go to a slow boil like I’ve seen other recipes say. Wish me luck (your post is from years ago so I guess I’m talking to myself 😂)

Made condensed milk today with *low-fat milk*
RECIPE FOR LOW-FAT MILK: (adjust to needs)
- use 400ml milk (makes about 150ml condensed milk)
- 1 cup sugar
Then place on stove on high, takes about 30 minutes (depends on the amount of milk)
Wait till it puffs and rises 3 times and keep stirring during these times then after turn heat to medium
Remove when thick after the 3 ‘puffs’ (can check using a spatula swipe on pan)
Cool down till good consistency for you :))

When you add sugar, it's then called SWEETENED condensed milk.
Condensed milk has no sugar.

@@lavander2752 it's easy to make here's the recipe:
1. Take a medium sized bowl and the fats of the milk in it daily for a week or until the bowl is full and put it in the refrigerator
(if you don't have the milk fats then just boil the milk and place on a lid this'll make milk fats)
2. Keep it in the refrigerator for a week or two.
3. After a week or two combine it with water (as per need)
4. Beat it with a beater until you get some cream looking thing
5. Separate the cream from the water that's left then wash it 4 - 5 times with clean water
6. Take a saucepan add the cream then cook it on low - medium heat until it looks like oil
7. Let it cool off then place it in a container.
There now you have
