    I am having the same problem on both rear doors of my 2016 Fit. I shove towels in between the door and the frame to keep the water out until I saw this video on where the problem is coming from. The car only has 34,000 miles. Just purchased it in February 2023. I guess I should have did research before I thought I was purchasing a reliable used car. VTC actuator is starting rattle once and awhile also. I should have kept my 2006 Kia Spectra5 which ran fine, was just rusting out.

    Everyone needs to write to America Honda if you have this issue. We are entitled to carpet replacement. I will soon be writing up a letter and post it via google docs for others to use.

      Hi, i searched for the letter but i did not see it. Did HONDA USA reimburse you for anything?

    Still having problems with my 2006 Jazz. Ive had the rear door panels off twice and reselaed the plastic first time with clear silicone, second time black RTF silicone. Last week i took the front door panels off and did same. The leak still persists and i am thinking the rain water is riding over the top of the plastic. Speakers look OK. Also i think the water is wicking up from the door seals and getting in. Its the same locations as yours mainly towards the rear of the doors. Im fed up with it now. Ive has the car 5 months and mechanically and the under body it is superb but this I feel like you is a design fault and cant be fixed easily. I have also tried an extra smaller 3M door seal stuck just inside the existing one on the door but this hasnt worked either.

      keeps the door drains unclogged, they are at the bottom of the door. Tape up the behind the back of the speaker in a shingle layering, bottom can be open

      Thanks, i have tried something else - put some more drainage holes in the rubber seam where it is collecting in the ridge. If i end up taking the door panels again, i will try what you suggest but my older Jazz is a bit different.@@DaBinChe

    This 11 minute video is essentially useless. He tells us what he did without showing us how he did it. Why wasn't he filming as he did the repairs?

    i had this problem on my 2012 fit after owning it for 3 months. I traded it for a prius when the dealer didnt believe me. does this still happen with the 2017's?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  6 лет назад +1

      have not idea about the 2017 but my guess is yes if they are still using the same design. I don't see honda changing the design. This is a design flaw so nothing can be done as far as replacement unless the design changes.

      I have a 2016 Fit and it was happening on my rear doors. Mine seemed to be leaking were the plastic sheet had rippled gaps. I used silicone caulk all around the bottom edges of the plastic and around my speaker housing, so far so good🤷‍♂️

      @@WildCaptures did the silicone stick to the plastic sheeting? Is it still dry? Mine was leaking from the speaker and I fixed that a few years ago but now leaking form the sheeting

      I'm having the exact same problem, I thought I was imagining things when I heard water sloshing around as I drove.

      Jason G The water sloshing around that you hear is the gas. The gas tank is located under the car. My car leaked when it rained. There is plastic sheeting in the door panels and they became unglued. The dealership fixed them but now my car is leaking water again. I'm going back to the dealership since they offer a 3yr/36k mile warranty on repairs. Also here is a link with a lot of info on the leak. www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-generation-ge8-specific-diy-repair-maintenance-sub-forum/72118-rear-door-water-leak-fully-explained-solved.html

      That's not always true. My 2007 Fit has had the normal "sloshy noise" in the front of the car since I bought it. Recently I thought I heard water sloshing around in the rear of the car. Upon making an abrupt stop, a wave of water came pouring onto the floor of the rear seats. I guess the area that holds the spare tire had several inches of water in it from a leak around the hatch. Sometimes when you hear water sloshing around, there is actually water sloshing around.

      i push it back and when water accumulate, the water weight push the seal open again. just remove the useless goo, and use permanent silicon.
