  • In this video I show how to remove the rear door panel on a Honda Fit. Car in the video is a 2016 model but the process is the same for model years 2015 - 2020. Many Honda Fits have an issue with water leaking through the door and soaking into the carpet, so I'll also show what to check and how to potentially resolve this issue.

This just happened to me this past week my back seat on the floor is practically flooded due to all this rain. Will definitely try this, thank you for posting!

It's a very common issue. Even after doing this, I would still keep an eye on it when it rains just to be safe

I was just wondering if I can remove the door armrests themselves and place a leather vinyl if possible?

It looks like they are a separate piece but you might risk breaking some clips taking them apart. I don't think they are designed to be removed

This is great but doesn’t show the actual repair details. Ie replacing plastic or using a particular sealant to reattach the seal.
Also if the speaker has leaks what should be done. This is kind of key info to do as the title suggests and fix the water leak.

Didn't need to replace plastic or use new sealant. Just use what's there and physically push it together to make better contact. This was done over 3 years ago on this particular car and it hasn't had a problem since. If there is water coming from the speaker it could be as simple as some loose screws or it may need more weatherstripping. Each situation would be different

@@RDMotoringThat isn't working for me. I pressed all the plastic down and even put tape over it to keep it pressed and water still leaks through it.
      The build quality is terrible!
I've been watching numerous videos in this and my door doesn't look like everyone else's at all. The black sealent was thrown all over the place and the wires were cut through and I just can't figure out what to do. I really hate this car. Never buying a car made in Mexico again and probably never from Honda again.

Yes it is exactly the same. Have a Honda Jazz here in Germany and the same issue with water leaking
