When you have xylitol candies in the mold that are still liquid do this : crush a solid candy (or look around your molds for any hard chrystal drips and dots) put a small piece of the hard candy into the still liquid ones. Basically, your introducing a crystal "seed" into the liquid which will cause the liquid to crystalize. Let those set for another day and you'll have hard candies. Xylitol crystals are large and sometimes it won't crystalize because of alcohol, oils or other additives that are in some candy flavorings. I use LorAnn Super Strength Peppermint. Less than 1tsp to 1 cup of xylitol will form large, solid crystals. Too much flavoring will cause it to form small crystals, making the candy grainy which dissolves too quickly (just melt those down again with a little more xylitol then remold). We are all still experimenting with xylitol to make good, hard candies. Thank you for sharing your recipe ! 😊
Hi and thank you for sharing your comment. I was stumped as to why some of them remained liquid and didn't naturally dry like the others. Most of them turned out ok, just the one or two that didn't. That really clarifies things.
Cool! I'm going to try making these today, except I'm not using food coloring. I want to try to make cinnamon candies too! Will let you know how it goes.
@spiritbeinglife hey! May I ask where do you but peppermint xylitol gums at the store? I can only seem to find them online, and always out of stock in packages over 100 units. Thank you!
The xylitol gum I buy here in oz is from Coles and online. It's called 'Real Gum', its plant based, and you can get spearmint, peppermint and fruity fresh flavors. Thanks

@@spiritbeinglife you're a legend!
I just found it at Coles webpage. May I ask, do they sell it in store also or is it a Coles online product
We order them from Coles online so maybe some stores don't have them in stock? You can order through their website in 12 pack lots. :)
