@@CookwithMel1 I’ve reused old mint tins for years, buy little mints in bulk and refill, such a great size and keeps anything fresh on the go 😊 now I’m looking for the perfect homemade mints as it gets very expensive when you look for the healthiest of ingredients plus near impossible to find.. 😅
Love these so much! Occasionally when I make them some don't crystalize like the others and stay in a clear gel-like form. Do You know what causes that?
Thanks Shelley. I found that those need to rest for longer. I watched the resting process for some time. The sheet seemed to dry from the outside inward....so it may be that the middle part isn't quite ready when the outer part of the sheet is. Hope that helps 😊
@@CookwithMel1 I figured out what I was doing wrong. I wasn’t stirring in the essential oils long enough and so the ones that weren’t hardening were actually almost pure essential oils and that’s why they weren’t hardening. This last batch came out perfectly and all of them hardened because I completed the process of stirring in the essential oils thoroughly.
Thanks for sharing. I am trying this now at home, using xylitol as well as etheric peppermint oil, yet the problem I encounter is when adding a few drops of peppermint oil, the oil keeps on evaporating in the liquid xylitol, even after I have let the xyilitol cool down for a while. How can I solve this? Maybe it works better with your peppermint extract than with pure etheric peppermint oil.
I have never used the peppermint oil so I'm not sure why it's evaporating. Mine is just from a regular grocery store in the baking isle. You could get some or maybe try a flavor you already have. 😊

I actually haven't experimented with this recipe in that way...I would pick sherbet....and here's another question...what if we whip it after its cooked? 🤣🤣🤣
@@CookwithMel1 thanks for the fast reply 🤗 do you know what makes sherbet, as far as I know it’s always lemon / citrus flavour ? How well does xylitol wash off? I have a silicone mold that would be ideal for making consistent sizes but I normally use it for dog treats.
Hi Linda. It washes off the same as allulose...very easily. You could soak it in hot soapy water if you want to do extra 😊

Thanks Tom...I wonder what flavoring you will choose ❤❤❤
They have xylitol lollipops, I'm sure it would be easy with a mold.
Lot easier to handle than sugar, holds its viscosity longer.
I like to use xylitol for oral hygene, does xylitol maintan its properties after exposure to high temperatures?
The stability is higher than other sugars...at 350C or 700F
