I like your opinion about keto. I am pleased as you have given a nice clear account that back's up Dr Eric Berg's theory question does bacon and egg and natural saturated fat become a risk if you combine with hi carbs ?
Three years later after this video and I'm one more who has ended diabetes, high blood pressure. Down over 60 pounds from 10 months ago, down 140 pounds from 12 years ago. Thank you Doctor, you are needed
@okritsky Type 1 is a disorder. An organ in your body is not functioning and never will. Type 2 has a perfectly functioning pancreas which is creating insulin just fine. Type 1 and Type 2 are nothing the same.
About to celebrate my 4th anniversary on keto. I started Jan. 1, 2019, today is Nov. 5, 2022. Lost 60 lbs. during the 1st months and managed to keep the weight off since then. My blood sugar used to be at 160-190, but it went back to normal during the first 6 months too. also got into running after I lost the excess weight and I've done 3 marathons since then. Will probably comment here every year from now on to keep you updated on how I'm doing.
Not sure the good Doc has time to get back to me, so I’ll ask you… I’d say I would ultimately like to take off 60 pounds as well. Did you have any trouble when going out of Ketosis and back on carbs, regarding weight gain? Thank you
I was keto 5 months and tried carnivore 2 days ago and it was horrible terrible I woke UP at 3 am because my fast heart beat, then my chest hurt a lot wow it was a nightmare now Im getting back to keto with spinachs avocado and chards, its better for me those low glycemic index food than zero carb from carnivore :)
It is not necessary to be carnivore in keto, I'm a vegetarian, consume milk products like cheese and don't eat egg, I've choose foods from the list of Dr Ekberg, I'm a pre-diabetic plus have problem in digesting system , and I'm doing well now , my sugar level is in range, no problem with digestion anymore, I'm very happy, I don't have to take pills, you just have to understand your body and adjust with the diet
@@valvijosevalverde3433 carnivore diet doesn't work for all people. It depends on your DNA(where your ancestors lived for the previous thousands or tens of thousands of years
I kicked big pharma to the curb one year ago. I lost 150 pounds (had to put a few pounds back on as I got a little too thin). I'm no longer diabetic.....have excellent blood pressure and cholesterol levels. I look 10 years younger. Good riddance to big pharma.....they are off my pay roll!
@@jamescorsey6041 It was so long ago that I don't honestly remember. Maybe 5-6 days. Adding in extra salt and electrolytes makes it much easier, although I didn't know that back then.
@@drekberg good answer. I've yet to find a doctor that doesn't piss me off. But to compare you with Dr. Berg is saying a lot. I will give you a try. And I will definately give you my opinion.
What answers are you talking about the guy say " study show that" without never quoting any name or any result and you say his explanations are awesome ?
The reason that keto and IF works, it's because it's the normal thing for the human body. Your channel is a treasure library I recently found and made my life better. Thank you !
Been keto for 3 years. Reversed my diabetes, lost 60 pounds, and improvred my lipids. I also feel better and have more ambition and energy than I ever have in my life.
Exactly! I believe that we need to look at the big picture. Understanding human physiology and the historic perspective is our best clue to what human are suppose to eat.
Dr. Berry, have you ever heard of Dr. Richard K. Bernstein? He's been on a keto diet for over 50 years. He has been a type 1 diabetic since the 70's and has never had any complications that come with diabetes for this reason. He's presently about 85 years old and still making videos on YT teaching people how to successfully live with diabetes through a low carb lifestyle.
I am from Mediterranean and I grew up eating lots of vegetables, fruits, fish and some corn bread. Since I came to US, I lost 15 pounds because I couldn’t eat most of the foods, they are just too sweet and greasy.
I know what you mean. I felt the same way when I came from Sweden. Lots of sugar and fake, chemical flavors. Unfortunately I ate a lot of junk before I learned better.
@@drekberg It's amazing how, as I've moved completely away from processed foods, they have taken on such a chemical flavor when I'd had a bite of them. Yuck. Real food tastes so much better
I have reached goal of weights but what to do when I’m bending down and get up I feel dizzy or light headed that I hang on to the wall till dissipated .
When watching Dr Ekbergs 'tutorials ' I feel as though he is talking exclusively to me. I am absorbing every word and learning. Absolutely spot on with his delivery of knowledge. Thank you thank you thank you.
Thank you TheSuperHarrygeorge. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile.
@@drekberg You are very welcome . You are a font of knowledge and just wish this was more widely understood by conventional 'dietitians ' and nutritionists. They are still pushing the old flawed food pyramid.!
Almost 65 and have done Keto and intermittent fasting for 10 months. I feel great!, lost weight, walking, running and skiing. I was pre diabetic early last year. I have been sugarless for 9 years now. Thank you for helping us understand our bodies and getting them to feel much younger than they are. My doctor said to keep doing what I was doing because my exam was excellent.
been Keto for a few months and my Rosacea has completely gone, going Keto has made the inflammation in my body disappear. the weight loss is just a bonus for me
There are a few comments about Sceptic vs Skeptic. According to grammar.com - Skeptic is the preferred spelling in American and Canadian English, and sceptic is preferred in the main varieties of English from outside North America. I was born and raised in Sweden, so I used the European version on the board.
For less than 2 months on keto + 18/6 fasting + 45 minutes a day intensive evening walking, l have already lost 40 pounds from my previous weight of 230 pounds...!!! I'm a man, 61 years old, my height is 6'00"...😊💪
I’ve been on strict clean Keto + OMAD for five days and already feel the difference. No more cravings! I heard Keto long time ago but thought it would cause a lot of problems because of high fat. After watching Dr. Ekberg’s videos, I changed my mind as I felt I had truly understood the concept this time. Thank you Dr. Ekberg for explaining everything so well. I love how you use the simplest language to enable us understand key concepts. “When it comes to fat, it’s about quality.” This one is my favourite!
It's not as bad as you think. Carbs on it's own isn't so bad. Although I am on a low carb diet and thonk its a great diet , but it's when carbs mixed with fat, that is the real issue. High carb diets that is low in fat ie mcdougall diet can be slimming, pro using it's low sugar(contains fructose).
Thanks for the encouragement. When I was in cardio rehab five years ago they pushed 40 grams of fat at most per day. Then the cardiologist increased my medication to keep my heart rate down and my blood pressure under 100/70. I gained about 30 pounds and am now diabetic. I truly believe following the cardiologist's directions put me in the boat I am today. I cut drastically carbs in January and have seen a dramatic improvement in my sugar levels almost immediately. I started Keto yesterday to help me with the weight loss.
Sten Ekbeg is one of the best! Full of key facts without any padding -- excellent presenter with great visuals and puts across complex information in a clearly understood way for his audience. Great synthesis of most recent and comprehensive research findings.

I am a 69 year old white male with ADD and mycotoxin induced cfs/me. Your voice is soothing and speaks truth. Glad I found you. Those behind the curtain who pull the levers don't want us to get better. Thank you for your courage.
David, if you are in the US you could try to find someone to test you with Nutrition Response Testing. We help a lot of with CFS, ADD and fungus using this technique.

This guy is great. As a FP and Sports Medicine Physician I find his information is about the best you’re going to run into these days. I hope other physicians are listening and watching and then teaching whatever they find valuable to their patients.
I watched your video refuting Julian Michaels, it was excellent. You were well researched and informative. I let my patients know about the keto diet all the time.
I’m 54 my wife 50 years old. Both on keto for a year. Off all meds. Lean and healthy. Feel great and no more naps. The biggest thing I saw was my skin. My skin just looks like new. Very incredible. I had a ugly mole that just came off and cleared up completely. It’s been a great year. Thanks.
I have been watching so many of Dr. Elberg’s videos. I have adapted the information he shares. Since April of 2021 I have lost 24 lbs slowly and steadily. My mood and energy level is so much more balanced and I sleep better and handle stress better after applying the diet and exercise methods I began learning about in his videos. It is now December 2021. My daily walking routine along with my low carb, whole food diet has been joyful and healing! I was vegan before and now that I eat mostly plant based with small amounts of organic and grass fed animal based foods I feel like a brand new human being! Looking forward to getting down to my goal weight of 200 lbs. by the end of 2022. Thank You Dr. Ekberg!
my son told me about keto.. at first I was leary of increasing my fats... almost a fat phobia.. I think the sceptics feel the same way.. we are brain washed... and feel that some people will do anything to lose weight including jeopardizing their health... been keto 6 months now and at my goal weight.... I plan to continue with the keto lifestyle for maintenance and health.....
Ever since I found your channel and stopped being afraid of fat, I feel so incredibly satisfied after meals. I have no craving for sugary junk, which is crazy because I've always had a bad sweet tooth. Not to mention, the high quality fats help me fast longer and make me feel more alert, energetic and motivated. I am shocked that I lived for so long doing something different..
Im shocked too...can not believe that I am a faster. Was a bad sugar carb junkie. Don't miss any part of any of it. My health and life improvements are uncomprehensible to the carb addicted sick people out there. Why is keto not taught to drs and nutritionalist. We would halve world sickness within weeks.
Again, a well presented video. Love your explanations and simplifications of what our ancestral diets were and how our body functioned during this time compared to the introduction of grains and how carbohydrates is affecting us in an unnatural way - inflammation, insulin resistance, diabetes...the list goes on....
Nov 17th, 2023, I had both feet in the grave and the key in the ignition. Instead of dying Devine intervention found my 1st Dr. Ekberg video that day. Day 1, Braggs Apple cider vinegar. No reflux or leg cramps that night. I was sold. 2 1/2 months later, and many Dr. Ekberg videos, not only am I alive, I'm thriving. And it seems anything I have a guestion, boom, another Dr. Ekberg video pops up. I can't sing your praises enough. Thank you so much for debunking all the misinformation. You are a life saver, at least mine. ❤
Dr Elbert. Great video. I have been in Keto for almost 4 months. When I started my LDL was 135, after 4 months of eating primarily meat, minimal sugar(70% dark choc) and no flour at all, my LDL was just tested at 66! The poison is processed foods, sugar and floor! Ty.
Dr. Ekberg, you're doing a great job! This is my first video of you that I watched, and from the tons of videos and articles on keto I have come across I can tell that you know what you are talking about. Great that another doctor is spreading the knowledge...
Thank you Ronino Sync. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad you liked it. The greatest compliment you can give is to help us help more people by sharing the videos.
Eight years now. Had a few side effects. Lost weight. Gained muscle. The degenerative bone disease that caused pain with every step for years disappeared after about 6 months. Feel happy for no apparent reason. My tryglicerides drop to really low levels. Other blood work really great. Feel left out when I cannot talk about my meds with other people my age. Just dont have any. Have way more energy. Gained back some of the height I had lost according to doctors office. Despite all the side effects I will soldier on. LOL
I began the Keto diet to cure my very severe cystic acne because i read on a forum that a girl cured her acne via a low carb high fat diet. I was a skeptic but I was desperate. Antibiotics and Acutane didnt do squat and within 3 months, I stopped breaking out. It seemed like a miracle. Now I am clear. I've been on Keto for 3 years now and have no intention of ever eating high carbs again- the very thing which gave me acne to begin with And as a side effect my monthly cramps lessened tremendously. I used to have really bad, crippling cramps where I had to pop an ibuprofen. Now, my cramps are extremely mild.
im a believer now after getting rid of my statin drug, doing exercise, taking supplement, and most importantly changing my diet (no more sugary food binge) although not strictly keto but low carb along with IF .. now slowly shedding weight and feeling much much better at middle age
I'm so grateful for the clear & understandable information Dr. Ekberg presents in all his videos. I'm down 42 pounds so far, and no longer pre-diabetic. I can't thank you😊 enough for all your efforts. This is such an important message!
I appreciated the historical argument that you made against carbs needing to supply the majority of calories we consume. You speak understandably, making good points . Also, you exemplify one who practices what he preaches (and that is important if you are to make a difference). I am interested in understanding exactly WHAT inflammation is, so if you chose to use it as a topic for one of your lecturettes, I would trustingly and appreciatively watch it. Thank you, Dr.Ekberg!
All my numbers were fine, apart from my PSA - went Keto over a year ago and the anti-inflammatory nature has calmed down my prostate and my PSA is down for the second time following my latest PSA test. Loving the videos
My favorite aspect of the keto diet is eliminating all processed food. The standard american diet is proof that sometimes science does us more hard than good. Take it back to the basics, eat clean.
Thanks for clearing up all the fog on how and why we should eat some foods and not others. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to help us to stay healthy. I like all your videos it's been a big help.
Chanced upon your channel a month or so ago, and your explanations make perfect sense to me. Started keto (veg and eggs) from today. Pre breakfast blood sugar was 154 and post breakfast 1 hour it was 142. Until now my post breakfast blood sugar has been 200 plus. Just said goodbye to carbs !! Thank you for your awesome videos and explanations.
What a great, clear, objective explanation, doctor! Thank you for the eye opening facts about health you provide with your videos! I'm insulin resistant and pre-diabetic and, just wish I had this kind of information decades ago. Thank you!!! ❤
30 pounds in 2 months, using alternate day fasting protocol, and elimination of sugar, and the majority of carbs. Some of that is of course water weight, but it works. I feel better at 47 than I did in my 20's.
Hi Dr. Ekberg, just wanted to let you know, that your knowledge, objectiveness on nutrition topics and the information you are giving people for free is incredible. With your help, I'm not confused anymore to lot of articles or youtube videos put out there from people spreading knowledge based on half-truths or opinions. I would love to hear your motivation why you are doing this channel? Wish you all the best.
Dr. Ekberg is improving our HEALTH while the massive processed food industry is destroying it. Keep up the FIGHT Dr. Ekberg. 👍 You truly are changing people's lives for a healthy lifestyle. 💖

I still can't believe it. I calculated my macros at the body weight and body fat I felt ideal and it happened. I went away for 10 weeks for summer vacation, came back, and my colleges didn't recognize me.
@@mntngirl4512 I would never consider going Veganism, but I also don't agree with the derision. If you have an argument of why vegan, vegetarians won't work then present it. From the environmental point of view, farm animals managed correctly will improve the soil. What is at present destroying our land is also the savior to repairing the damage we have done. Joel Salatin and Savory are two that come to mind in the work they have done to restore land. I do understand why some folk cannot contemplate killing animals, it is hard to take a life, but farmed well they live a good life and only have one bad day at the end.
Thank you, Dr. Ekberg for saying we don't have to get into ketosis. I do everything you recommend. Intermittent fasting 18/6 I do 10,000 steps a day and cut my carbs a lot, but I just don't want to go into ketosis. I also eat organic, healthy, high-quality fat and 100% grass-fed beef and butter. I can't wait to see if that gets me out of pre diabetes.
Dear Dr Ekberg. After watching many of your videos I decided to give the Keto diet a try. 10 weeks in and I have lost 10 kilo's and feel fantastic. I have more energy, can eat until I feel full and still lose weight. My enlarged prostate has also improved greatly. A big thankyou to you for showing me the way. Much appreciated. Regards Barry.
Totally agree with you but in my case, I'm single, 65 and with all this natural testosterone, it's like being dressed for a party, but sill waiting for an invitation. Story of my life.

At 55 and an RN and Type 2 Diabetic, I’ve never heard anyone explain nutrition in a way that empowers people to change their health, their fitness, their lives. Sten provides clear factual useful info… I lost 50lbs in 6mos, I look and feel amazing now!!! Thank you for saving my life!!! I watch Sten daily to optimize my health!!!! I started doing a keto "diet" and have finally started to lose stubborn fat. I enjoy lots of healthy foods and can even work in some treats. My diabetic husband has started restricting his carbs and sugar and has gone from regular sugars of 300-350 with each meal down to 170-250 with each meal in about a month.
Dr. Ekberg you're the best! This is the greatest explanation ever! I'm a 63 year old woman, and in 7 days I'll be 64. I'm 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighed 115 pounds before my diet. I've been type 2 diabetic for the past 18 years, 16 of which I was on Glucophage pills. Only 6 months ago I was taking 2000 mg Glucophage daily. I put myself on a low-fat low-carb diet and lost 17 pounds; I was already very slender, and had no weight to lose; now am very skinny with 98 pounds. I'm consuming many types of nuts, seeds, and lots of steamed vegetables. Every day I drink smoothies that were made with few fruits, lots of greens and vegetables. I eat chicken, eggs, lamb, and most seafood, and I drink lots of water. I'm very happy because I was able to stopped the Glucophage pills that I had been taking for the past 16 years, but I need to put on a little weight. Dr. Ekberg, please sir, can you give me some advice on how to safely put back on my 17 pounds, or at least 10. Thank you sir and God bless.
Awesome video. For the last month I have been carnivore 4 days a weeks and strict keto the other 3. I can't explain it properly, but my body feels like a whole different body. Carbs are the enemy!
Great video! Been on Keto for 3 months now feel great! Didn't do it for weight loss did loose 7 lbs, but my body has leaned out like crazy! This is a way of life for me now!
Hey Dr Berg. Thanks to your keto/OMAD videos, I've lost over 50 lbs and shredded after ten months (at 62). I actually gained 0.2% muscle in the process. Now everyone is asking, "What are you doing to look so great?". I tell them and they freak out...lol Old ways die hard.
What a fabulous video. Thank you for so clearly dispelling so many erroneous way of thinking. Every person needs to watch this video, hear these words - keto or not - because truth is truth. And this video is full of just that. Thank you again, Dr. Ekberg! Namaste.
Once again Dr, thank you so much for all you’re valuable information, it’s a true pleasure to listen to all you’re knowledge. You make my Keto& intermitting fasting so much easier!
I’ve been on ketogenic diet for almost 3 months and have lost a little over 20 pounds. I like that it’s low carb and sugar and that it’s healthier. However, my only complain about it is that there’s a very limited allowed fruits and veggies to eat. I love fruits I grew up with that has high in sugar like mangoes and pineapple. Once I reach my goal weight, I would like to go on a healthier diet with no food restriction. I would stay on low carb and sugar as possible and have portion control. I hope this would work for me. Thank you for all your informative videos. I learn a lot from you🙂
Thank you Dr.Ekberg, For your clear explanation. The ketogenic diet is not about losing weight,it is about healthy natural eating as our ancestors did. Losing weight is a by product bonus.
*It's vital for individuals to approach the keto diet with awareness and make adjustments according to their unique needs. Thank you for shedding light on this topic!*
Very informative video Dr. Ekberg, six months into Keto, IF and OMAD, not even had a cheat day loll, enjoying every minute of my new healthy lifestyle.
HI Dr.Sten very much appreciate your videos, I changed to a healthy lifestyle about 4 months ago and is going great, well better than great, wonderful. Thank you for all the information you share with us viewers.
Point of clarification. The body will not utilize fats simply because they are more abundant in your diet than carbohydrates; unless you have depleted your glycogen stores, which means that you are eating 5% or less of your total calories in the form of carbohydrates. This is a critical point, and the primary reason for practicing a ketogenic diet rather than a "balanced" diet. The objective is to condition the body to utilize stored body fat as a fuel source. This depends upon the mitochondrial machinery being in place, and the body will only build that machinery when it is necessary to do so. This is why there is a fat adaptation period when adopting a ketogenic diet.
@@MrDavidknigge Was there a question? Where did I lose you? The point is this: the body will handle fuel in this order, in descending order of priority; 1) alcohol, 2) glucose, 3) carbohydrates, 4) fats. Fats will be tapped as energy stores only after the first 3 categories have been fully depleted. This is why combining sugar and fat in the same meal is unhealthy. This is why keto is fundamentally different from a "balanced" diet.
Thank you for your clarification. You are making some very good points, and I would completely agree with the fact that the body will not burn much fat in the presence of carbohydrate and insulin. However, it always burns a mixture of all fuel. You don't have to completely deplete the stores of carbohydrate before you burn fat it is just that insulin heavily/strongly pushes the balance toward fat storage rather than fat burning. I completely agree that sugar and fat together is a very bad combination. That is why it is such a joke when they do a study, by cutting carbs from 400 grams to 200 grams calling it a "low carb" diet and concluding you don't lose weight on low carb.
I’ve eliminated all processed sugars, processed carbs, hydrogenated oils and replaced it with healthy fats, veggies, protein, nuts and berries. I’ve lost about 27 pounds in over a month and a half. I feel great, my mind is clear my energy levels are up and sleep well. When I was feeding my body junk food I didn’t feel good at all. The system wants us to be addicted to their sugary processed unhealthy foods. I’m not going back to the old way of eating junk food. I no longer have sugar cravings or crave any processed carbs. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Dr. Ekberg for taking the time to add to the discussion. Keto for me: lost 104 pounds with food and lifestyle change. Sustainable for the last 6 months. reversed type 2 diabetes, no more blood pressure pills and no longer worried about Cholesterol!! Never felt better. Keto on but learn about healthy carb refeeding.
Thank you Dr. for sharing the info in such a calm and educational way. I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. 1.5 years now in LCHF and IF and feeling my best at 48 yrs old :)
26 months (mainly) keto now. Im not dead yet :D actually planning upping my fat as my skin is slightly dry this month. I dont use lotions I just tweak my diet
If the skin is dry that is the one time polyunsaturated fats are a good idea such as fish oil with some good essential fatty acids. For fuel stick with the politically incorrect saturated fat.
You allude to this in the end and I think it is worth emphasizing. We can still eat carbs and lose weight. I have lost weight by doing 3 things: 1) dramatically cutting sugar and alcohol, 2) skipping breakfast every day and 3) go out for 40 minutes (at least) walk every day. When I eat, I still eat potato, pasta and cake occasionally. I also fixed my sleep apneas. It is not Earth shattering life changes, but, combined, they are getting me back on track to slow (~ 2kg lost per month) but steady weight loss. BP is down as well. Thanks for your work to educate people on metabolic science. This should be taught in school!
The first thing that dissapeared from grocery stores when Covid hit was frozen foods. Fridges were empty. There was plenty of raw foods still available. That told me a lot about what people eat...
Great perspective on Keto, I eat some carbs to stay out of this diet, but avoid processed ones. Since I reduced carbs, lost and kept off the weight. I think fasting is a more important part of my life that regulates me over carb reduction. Thanks again for the great content and perspective.
Yeah, that’s my experience too. Keto was a bit too tough for me. I do low carbs and fasting and the results for me have been miraculous. Down 42 lbs and still going down.
Im just into my 5th year of keto and in the first 10 months, i lost 103 pounds - and I've kept it off ever since. I reversed my prediabetes, reversed my joint inflammation and there are many other benefits that I'm too lazy to mention. I'm 56 years old and at a weight that I was last at, when I was 15 years old. Ive also helped 3 people reverse type 2 diabetes. I believe that I am now eating a 'proper human diet' and after 4 years, im not dead yet. If that happens, I'll let you know.
This is hands down, THE best video on RUclips about food, fat vs carb etc...It`s based on facts, science and common sence...You are an inspiration Sten..thx man :-)
Dropped 8 pounds in 4weeks. Ditched half of blood pressure meds. Belt size is getting smaller. Don’t know about a ketogenic Doctor in my area . Great video!
I have decided to go long term on keto since I started, because I go with how I feels. I feel so great since I started and never felt this way before. If my body likes it, I will go with it! Feel so lucky!
Dear doctor thank you for your expertise and calming delivery of facts. I am 68 years old and I've had hypothyroidism for 50 years over the last 10 years I develop multiple food allergies, leaky gut and sibo. I have been working with a nutritional therapist and that had helped me quite a bit but it wasn't until I started the keto diet four months ago that I'm down 20 lbs and my leaky gut and sibo have literally healed to the point where I can now eat eggs, milk and other foods that I was allergic to because of leaky gut. I'm probably not going to start in on the dairy or the grains because I want to stay healthy but I am excited about being able to eat an egg ! hallelujah thank you Doctor God bless you
I threw more than half of the foods that were in my pantry like rice, flour, breads, chips, snacks, chips, candies, canned carbs, so I threw all fake foods!!!! My daughters and my husband and me did keto for only four months and we are getting healthier by the day!!!!!!! Thank you for another great video!!!!
Should have talked about inflammation the main problem with excessive carbohydrate and sugar consumption. Keto with a nice intermittent fasting program rocks.
Thank you for your video, every time I fail I come back and listen to your videos, have been on ketosis for almost a year &have lost only 8 has I am finding it hard to keep on track & go forward I need to loose another 20 kgs any encouragement welcome.
Thanks Dr.. I have gone underweight on KETO And finally found the info I need in your channel Now I begin next chapter... rebuilding my body. .my muscles...
These videos harp on losing weight. After about 6 months of Keto, at 67, I am working hard to maintain my weight at my college level. I am never hungry and could easily go 24 hours without eating. I have stopped doing that level of fasting because I can’t lose any more weight.
Do you watch Dr. Ken Berry’s videos? He has one in which he says that keto/carnivore diets are normative, meaning you lose weight on it if you need to. If you need to gain, you will. If you are at a healthy weight, the weight loss stops. (I haven’t been on it long enough to know!)
I love your clear, logical approach, Dr. Ekberg. I do better on keto, but to your point, I still have two hangups: 1) research from older days that showed that saturated fat in the diet could be measured in the blood and presumably deposited in the veins within hours of consumption. 2) more recent studies by neuro scientists stating that saturated fat impairs the brain's capacity to create new neurons. I would be so appreciative if you addressed these two. Thanks!
Hey Dr. Ekberg! Just found you doing my research on Keto and subbed immediately! Along with Dr. Berg and Thomas DeLauer, high quality content and very valuable information! Thank you for that! I have decided to turn on Keto just out of curiosity, I´m 25 and I´ve been going to the gym for almost a decade. I´m really curious about how I will feel using fats as fuel instead of carbs, what would my energy levels be compared to being on carbs and especially if I´m gonna be able to continue gaining muscles and stay on my hard core gym workouts and keep lower fat percentage! It´s my 4th since I cut of carbs and right on my second day I went with 17 hours fast, first 2 days were tough, but now I feel pretty good, is that even possible for the body to adapt so quickly?
I think you have found the best people to help with Keto so far. there is another gal that I watch and she is really big into the different types of fasting and how you can change various things in your body through different types of fasts. Her name is Dr. Mindy Pelz, she is very informative and has the same philosophy is Dr. Ekberg , in that she wants people to be able to study and learn for themselves so you can be informed and active in your own health.
Both Dr Berg are awesome 👍. Started learning health basic and advance keto from your channel and now following both of you. Many many thanks for great contents.
I'm at a point in keto where I am fat adapted. I do a cyclical keto now. I eat small amount of carbs before I go to the gym and sometimes after. I bake my own bread and make my own pasta.

That’s a good one Dr Berry 👏👏👏
Hello dr Ken we meet again, very informative video 📹

Then making us feel guilty for questioning the "experts" 🙄
I’ve been on strict clean Keto + OMAD for five days and already feel the difference. No more cravings! I heard Keto long time ago but thought it would cause a lot of problems because of high fat. After watching Dr. Ekberg’s videos, I changed my mind as I felt I had truly understood the concept this time. Thank you Dr. Ekberg for explaining everything so well. It should be illegal to label something as "Lean Cuisine" with 46 carbs in one meal.
They are so confused.
That's exactly what I think every time I read the boxes of all those different lean and skinny meals etc. I just laugh & put it back on the shelf 😏
sharon olsen It simply means the cardboard box is very thin or ‘Lean’ - and, yup, it is!
It should be illegal to make Subway's sandwich bread with 10% sugar.

Most of the sceptics come from the food industry, I'm on my 3rd year of Keto and I am still here, no side effects, the best way to live.
Eight years now. Had a few side effects. Lost weight. Gained muscle. The degenerative bone disease that caused pain with every step for years disappeared after about 6 months. Just dont have any. Have way more energy. Gained back some of the height I had lost according to doctors office.
Despite all the side effects I will soldier on. LOL
@AJ - no you just think you are still here. Obviously the government guidelines can't be wrong. :)

I began the Keto diet to cure my very severe cystic acne because i read on a forum that a girl cured
her acne via a low carb high fat diet. I was a skeptic but I was desperate. Antibiotics and Acutane didnt do squat and within 3 months, I stopped breaking out. It seemed like a miracle. Now I am clear. I've been on Keto for 3 years now and have no intention of ever eating high carbs again- the very thing which gave me acne to begin with
And as a side effect my monthly cramps lessened tremendously.
I used to have really bad, crippling cramps where I had to pop an ibuprofen. Now, my cramps are extremely mild.
I start my Keto journey tomorrow. I am nervous and very excited. I want this to turn my life around. I have severe osteoarthritis and need relief!

I read this and it was like white noise in my brain. I don't hate you or what you said This speaks more about me than it does you. Have a nice day.
And if there is not enoughfat left in the body, what should I do, eat more fats or go off keto?
I’ve eliminated all processed sugars, processed carbs, hydrogenated oils and replaced it with healthy fats, veggies, protein, nuts and berries. I’ve lost about 27 pounds in over a month and a half. I feel great, my mind is clear my energy levels are up and sleep well. When I was feeding my body junk food I didn’t feel good at all. The system wants us to be addicted to their sugary processed unhealthy foods. I’m not going back to the old way of eating junk food. I no longer have sugar cravings or crave any processed carbs. Thank you for sharing.
Great.
The KETO diet has done miracles for me... I love it. :)
Thank you Анна Коваль. That is great that you have had great success on Keto.
Awesome. Congratulations. You're just proving physiological principles. Thanks for sharing.
Dr. Sten Ekberg
I appreciate you replying and will forward your channel to everyone I care about
Thank you flhtcui2.❤
Best channel on keto. Well articulated information. Appreciate this channel Dr.Ekberg.
That is awesome. I am so glad to hear how well you are doing on Keto.
@@drekberg 4 years keto here. Off all medication and healthier than ever in my life. It makes me laugh when these "experts" say it isn't sustainable.
@@Iridescence93 That is AWESOME! Thank you for sharing your experience with keto.
If the skin is dry that is the one time polyunsaturated fats are a good idea such as fish oil with some good essential fatty acids. For fuel stick with the politically incorrect saturated fat.
Thanks Dr Sten, good to know. I always try and have a mix of fats - mainly because they are so tasty. Good to know Im thinking right
You allude to this in the end and I think it is worth emphasizing.
Very good video, Dr Ekberg! Very professional.
Thank you Lloyd Hlavac.
You're welcome E. K.. My pleasure. Thanks for watching 😄
I'm probably not going to start in on the dairy or the grains because I want to stay healthy but I am excited about being able to eat an egg ! hallelujah thank you Doctor God bless you
1 year keto ripped 56 years young
Thank you golden Warrior for sharing. Congratulations!
Thank you Terry Whelan.
Thank you for your video, every time I fail I come back and listen to your videos, have been on ketosis for almost a year &have lost only 8 has I am finding it hard to keep on track & go forward I need to loose another 20 kgs any encouragement welcome.
Been doing the OMAD diet for some weeks and having no problems with it. Doing some exercise and the belly starting to reduce. Feeling well
Thank you Graham Debling. That is great. 😄
Thanks Dr.. I have gone underweight on KETO And finally found the info I need in your channel
Now I begin next chapter... rebuilding my body. .my muscles...
I ferment the dough for at least 24 hours usually around 30. That way the enzymes can convert the starch to sugar which feed the yeasty boys. So I have my bread and eat it too.
I'm really struggling with making a good bread.. tried a recipe with almond flour flax seed and a tble of honey and ACV... better but not the real deal... can you give me ur recipe or where I can finds good bread recipes....
will have to try baking own bread.. regular bread immediately bloats my stomach and make me lethargic
@@mattaravena2473 That's a getting lethargic that means your blood sugar is spiking.
How do u make your pasta and bread?
kickn-aDead-cat i have made pasta lots of times! But never bread! Thanks for the info! 😉😉
