Little tip. When finding where to put the Sub don't just put it where you like the look place it in all 4 corners testing one at a time then try some others places. If you have a friend or partner to help ask them to come in the room each time and close their eyes and tell you where they think the bass is coming from. You want to get it in a place that makes it impossible to tell where the sub bass is coming from. If you place on the left in front of you and its easy to tell its there then keep trying. Once you have it in a place that makes it impossible to judge where the bass is coming from then you will be getting the best experience possible.
Just set this system up with the Sony AV receiver ( STR-DH790 ) and a set of Micca RB42X which I used as my fronts. Makes an awesome 5.1.2 system and the subwoofer is incredibly powerful. I have it set at about 10 o’clock on the sub and negative 2 in my receiver and it vibrates everything in the living room. For an 8” sub it’s really hard to believe it puts out that much power. Even my installer couldn’t believe the quality of sound for such a low profile set. Great accurate review. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
... It's an okay setup. If you're an audiophile I wouldn't recommend, it's decent but there is much to be desired. But hey, $300 isn't bad for what your getting. Just don't expect to be blown away
I bought this when I first got back into home theater and honestly for a all in one it’s a great system especially on sale . I think it’s one of the better htib systems out there . Grab yourself a budget avr and you could be up and running for 600-700 bucks that’s a good deal for everything and a good starting system . I eventually returned it though and bought a full klipsch rp series 5.1 but sold that as well lol now I have svs ultras
For sure! I had the Denon S540BT receiver for a hot minute, and it was great for a 5.1 system, especially in these modern times with its Bluetooth music streaming, 4K pass through, and smart phone control via an app. Did its job well for less than $300!

Hello, thank you for the review and information. I've had an Onkly DTR 5.5 receiver only ever connected to my dated Bose AM5 which still sound incredible. But time has come to replace with a 5.1 set of speakers. I found this set and made a purchase via Amazon (expected delivery this week) since Costco was out of stock. So how are they?? I need new speakers for my Onkyo TX-SR 373 and I did touch them at Costco. I'm blind by the way. So yeah they feel cool. Now they had them unplugged from the demo shelf. So couldn't press the demo button to hear the,m. Does the sub really vibrate the room like a car sub would? I mean the kinda vibration he described is car stuff my guy. I've never experienced in-wall subwoofers before, but I'm sure they're good to some degree! It might not perform the best compared to a normal subwoofer since they have to be pretty slim/narrow to fit inside a wall, but depending on your room, it might be perfect! 🤷♂
Sorry, I have no idea. I’ve never reviewed the Logitech before. But one thing the Logitech has is more versatility, since you can plug it directly into a PC or TV. The Klipsch system has to be powered by a receiver.

So, I get that this system thumps, but the big problem I have with my 5.1 system is not hearing dialogue. Admittedly, I have some acoustic challenges in my home...namely that it's an apartment with the HVAC exhaust right next to my damn TV. And there are limits to how much I can turn my system up because of the neighbors on the other side of the wall. But the biggest thing I care about is dialogue. Why is this such a problem now? How does this system perform for being able to hear people talk?
It does pretty well, considering it’s Klipsch, which is most known for its “bright” characteristics. But it’s not just you. It’s quite the well-known issue these days, having dialog less intelligible. I use subtitles pretty much all the time now when watching movies and TV shows with my family. Just curious, have you ever considered a wireless headphone system? Like the Sennheiser RS 175? Im trying to get my hands on that system to see how good it is with movie watching. 🤷♂️
Update: So I set this up and it's great! Sounds better than my $1800 Samsung Soundbar at a fraction of the price; especially superior is the clarity, voices, and wider front stage. Question: at 2:35 you said to set the crossover to 110-120hz. What happens my Denon AVR set it to 90 after calibration? Should I change it?
Greetings from the future. These speakers are still viable in small and medium sized rooms. Theyll probably be viable 10 years from now. Mind you I mostly roll with B&W speakers these days.
These days, it’s good to invest in a 7 channel AVR to give you the ability to expand in the future. Sony STR-DH790, Denon s760s, Denon x2700h, Onkyo 6100 depending on your budget. 🙌

You can use a 5.1 receiver like the Denon AVR-S650H or the Sony STR-DH590. But say you'd maybe want to expand to a 7.1 channel speaker setup sometime in the future? I have a synergy black label F-200 7.1 klipsch home theater setup, I tested allot of speakers at the Local high end stereo shop , Bose sounded like Tin cans next to Klipsch literally, the only brand that sounded as good was Paradigm but they were about $1100.0 more
I got it for $330 from Costco on Cyber Monday. Should arrive tomorrow. I am planning to keep my nice bookshelf speakers for the L R speakers, and add these for center, sub and surround. Excited to see how they work with my old Onkyo AVR. Then I will look for a good Atmos AVR.
I'm soo excited. I am eagerly waiting for my 5.1 Klipsch setup to arrive. It only costed me ~300 bucks (I think 320 after taxes). Great deal. I tried the Sonos 5.1 setup with their sub, their new white sound bar and 2 rear speakers and it was soo underwhelming. I immediately returned it despite trying to move the sub in different settings. I think Sonos is for people who are not audiophiles. I hope this thing is better then the Sonos.
When it was my main home theater setup, it did the job much better than I was expecting. But I’ve upgraded since then. But that’s the beauty of starting a foundation with a receiver+wired speakers - upgrading over time! 🤘
@@ealanosborne definitely. It's a decent starter speaker set for me. Adorama was running a black Friday sale hence the only reason I bit the bullet. Initially only ordered the speakers (sub, and 4 "wireless" speakers that make it a 5.1). Later today I cancelled my ordered and reorder ed to include the receiver from some brand called Onkyo. The total there was $628. I figured if I'm going to get my first starter set, might as well get the proper setup.

BUT…on paper it looks to be superior to the Klipsch system: Bigger speakers, bigger, more powerful subwoofer, bookshelf style speakers instead of rounded little satellites, etc. If your listening space is medium sized to medium-large, I think the Fluance is worth the extra cash. But again, that’s just me looking at the specs online. So take that with a grain of salt.😄

Buenos dias! I haven’t personally heard the Jamo set, but I would say it is very similar to the 5.1.4 Cinema System since Klipsch also owns the Jamo brand. But the Jamo set is definitely better looking, compared to the typical black speakers of Klipsch. So I would say Jamo is best, since it sounds great and LOOKS better too! 😁🤘
My husband just bought one of those with 700 dollars?!?! I’m confused,now. Anyway he said that the company didn’t had the wires for the speakers?! I thought is completely wireless! We don’t know how to proceed or connect all those 4 speakers!!?? Some advice please!
This speaker bundle requires an AV receiver to power the speakers, since the speakers themselves are passive (non-powered). They do not plug directly into a TV. I recommend 14 gauge speaker wire to connect these speakers to an AV receiver. I also recommend a 5.1 channel AV receiver to power the speakers, like a Sony STR-DH590, Yamaha RX-V385, or Pioneer VSX-534 as a few examples.

The nice thing about this system over a soundbar is that you aren’t confined to the width of the soundbar itself. You can make the left, center and right speakers as close or far apart as you want. But using a soundbar just for a center channel? I don’t think that’s done easily, and I don’t think it would improve the situation all that much anyway.

Do the satellite speakers plug into the sub? I would like this set but don't want to run speaker cable from the satellite speakers by the seating area to the receiver.
They do not plug into the sub. That’s typical with most soundbars these days. But there are fairly cheap 2 channel rear speaker RF wireless kits to make the surrounds wireless. I’ve never personally tried it, so I’m not sure if there’s a better brand over another, so just Google it. 👍

@@ealanosborne Ah okay 14. I'll tell him then. After we hook it up and I've used some lightsaber duels to make sure Jon got the channals right I'll try that Quitij seen from chanber of Secrets. I've listened to each of the 6 WAV files of it via my pro media Klipsch speakers for PC. The $120 ones. I got them at Costco. But yeah I'll try that. Ah the wav file thing. I rip my own DVDs with a share ware called DVD Audio Extractor. If you do it in WAV you get choices. You can do it in Stereo which is the default so you can listen to it on an audio player. Mono I don't know why. But then you can do 6 channal. Now we get nifty. Either a 5.1 WAV you can load on something and play Via your AVR or the real cool cat thing is tell it to save each channal to it's own WAV file. Bam you'll know now what comes from each speaker. It numbers the files even. It's 1 threw 6 and 4 onbviously is the sub. I got it to in a messed up way cause it was on an old 90s PC rip the HD Master track of a Blu-Ray. It was 1 threw 7 then cause the disk was 1 of those 6.1 movies.

Was also considering the Denon receiver from Costco, (the only one they sell apparently 🤔 ) What do you think of those? What's a good budget amp or receiver that would suffice?
That Denon is great! At one point, I had a 5.1 Denon Receiver comparable to the one Costco sells, and it was very nice. Quality 4K video pass-through, excellent audio, good connectivity thru mobile apps, etc. DO IT! 😄
@@chronot1342 Probably the Onkyo. It's got just a touch more power than the Denon, although their room calibration software isn't as good as Audyssey (which comes with Denon), so you might be doing a tad more manual corrections. But pound for pound, Onkyo over Denon just by a hair. But the last thing to consider is music. Yamaha is a clear winner when it comes to a great hybrid home theater/music receiver. And the Yamaha makes it MUCH easier to create a whole home music listening experience all controlled by the TSR-700 (if that's something you're into). Otherwise: 1) Onkyo 2) Denon 3) Yamaha

Yeah, I’d leave it full out LFE, which is typically a crossover of 120 Hz. That’s best for this little system since the satellite speakers can only handle frequencies as low as 110 Hz, so setting speaker and subwoofer crossovers to 120 Hz is ideal, so that the speakers and subwoofer are all on the same page. Speakers handle everything from 120 Hz and up, and subwoofer handles 120 Hz and below. 👍

I got this pack, and a refurbished Yamaha tsr-700 receiver as a Black Friday bundle from Newegg. 4 year warranty, everything came in just shy of $800 after tax. All I have to do is put it together lol.
You sure can! A speaker is a speaker. It just depends on if your receiver can decode Dolby Atmos and has at least 7 channels. 😀👍 Then you can put speakers wherever you need to.

Well, since this an “old school” wired speaker system, you’d still have to power the Klipsch passive speakers with an AV receiver and some speaker wire to connect all the speakers to the receiver. But there are some great inexpensive receivers out there that have Bluetooth connectivity to stream music thru it like the Denon AVR-S540BT. I’d recommend that! You’d have 5.1 surround and killer bass for music and it won’t break the bank! 👍

Hi! Phase is just if maybe there’s some boomy issues or not enough bass due to the location of the sub. Try testing it with phase at 0 and 180 degrees and see if there’s a difference. It might not do anything, or maybe it makes an improvement after all. 😁 “Auto” means it will be on “standby” mode when not in use, then kick on if it detects low frequencies. “On” just means it’s always on. 🤘Happy listening!

That’s correct. You do need a receiver to power these speakers. Pretty much any intro receiver will suffice - Denon s650h, Sony STR-DH590, Yamah RX-V385. 👍
Need help guys! My subWoofer is not working Connected my TV HDMI Arc to Sony STR DH540 HDMI Arc out (with high-speed HDMI cable). Connected Klipsch wireless receiver to the AV receiver subwoofer out. Then powered in both Klipsch subW and wireless receiver. Constant blue lights are on. TV settings changed so ARC HDMI is active.... still woofer does not work.. (Have not connected other speakers to AV receiver yet)....what can I try to troubleshoot? Please help.

Yes, for the most part. Sometimes it’s just wind, reflections of voices, rain, music, etc. And then at times sound effects like ships passing by, or bullets. So yeah, always active to varying degrees 👍
Well, you can use banana plugs on the end that plugs into the receiver, if the terminals can accept banana plugs. But these speakers only accept max 14 gauge bare wire into their terminals.

@@43SunSon Oh for sure, it works! Getting a 7.1 receiver just means you have the capacity of having a maximum of 7 satellite speakers in the system. But you don't have to USE all 7. So you can definitely have a 5.1 system hooked up to a 7.1 receiver. But HAVING a 7.1 receiver means you can have that flexibility of eventually ADDING 2 more speakers to your 5.1 speaker system later on if you wanted to.

Question for you, it used to be that you knew that 8ohm was for home use and 4 ohm where for car audio. I ordered 5 home theater speakers, but after the fact I noticed that they where 6 ohm speakers. The home theather amplifier ( I just got a yamaha tsr-700 from costco ) I think it can handle different ohm loads. Will using the 6 ohm amp have any effect? do you prefer 8 ohm? whats the deal here?
Oh sure, that Yamaha will still be fine. And even if you had 4 ohm nominal speakers, it would still be fine. It's just better for 4 ohm speakers to have more power driven through them. 6 ohm is still close enough to 8 ohm that it's not gonna matter much.
Hay Ealan I was going toget these as you know for My Onkyo TX-SR 373. But Amazon has the cinema with Atmos 1s for $300 80 something. Now the 373 obviously isn't 9 channal. That being said as they are better speakers minus the 4 atmos channals should I be theoritically able to connect those to the 373?
Oh most definitely! Speakers are speakers, so you can still connect the 5.1.4 Cinema System to your Onkyo. On each of the 4 main speakers, there are two sets of speaker terminals - one set for the main speaker, one set for the Atmos speakers, so you just don’t need to connect the Atmos speakers. Easy! 😁
OK, I need help then. I have this htip, a Denon avr s660h, and an LG TV with both optical and ARC. I cannot for the life of me, get it to sound decent. I did the auto setup with the mic, and it still sounds like garbage. Please help!
@@mosthated8848 I ended up trading mine for an MK2 Arcade 1 cabinet lol. The one at Costco had Dolby due to the ceiling aiming speakers, so I bought that one. Great speakers though.

Thanks so much for the compliments, Richard! For a 5.1 system, I would personally avoid any HTIB that also comes with its own receiver (like the Onkyo HT-s3910). It usually means the internal components of the receiver are pretty cheap. I would recommend getting the Klipsch Reference Theater Pack, the Denon AVR-S650H, and some 14 gauge speaker wire from Amazon. It costs more up front, but it'll last you a lot longer and give you better performance. As far as an Atmos system is concerned, you'll usually need to spend at least $800 and get a receiver that's at least 7.1 channel. I'm actually releasing another video next week reviewing 2 budget Dolby Atmos soundbar systems, so those might be an option for you too! Be on the look out for that when it comes out! :)

Little tip. When finding where to put the Sub don't just put it where you like the look place it in all 4 corners testing one at a time then try some others places. If you have a friend or partner to help ask them to come in the room each time and close their eyes and tell you where they think the bass is coming from. You want to get it in a place that makes it impossible to tell where the sub bass is coming from. If you place on the left in front of you and its easy to tell its there then keep trying. Once you have it in a place that makes it impossible to judge where the bass is coming from then you will be getting the best experience possible.

Just set this system up with the Sony AV receiver ( STR-DH790 ) and a set of Micca RB42X which I used as my fronts. Makes an awesome 5.1.2 system and the subwoofer is incredibly powerful. I have it set at about 10 o’clock on the sub and negative 2 in my receiver and it vibrates everything in the living room. For an 8” sub it’s really hard to believe it puts out that much power. Even my installer couldn’t believe the quality of sound for such a low profile set. Great accurate review. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I bought this when I first got back into home theater and honestly for a all in one it’s a great system especially on sale . I think it’s one of the better htib systems out there . Grab yourself a budget avr and you could be up and running for 600-700 bucks that’s a good deal for everything and a good starting system . I eventually returned it though and bought a full klipsch rp series 5.1 but sold that as well lol now I have svs ultras
For sure! I had the Denon S540BT receiver for a hot minute, and it was great for a 5.1 system, especially in these modern times with its Bluetooth music streaming, 4K pass through, and smart phone control via an app. Did its job well for less than $300!

Hello, thank you for the review and information. I've had an Onkly DTR 5.5 receiver only ever connected to my dated Bose AM5 which still sound incredible. But time has come to replace with a 5.1 set of speakers. I found this set and made a purchase via Amazon (expected delivery this week) since Costco was out of stock. So how are they?? I need new speakers for my Onkyo TX-SR 373 and I did touch them at Costco. I'm blind by the way. So yeah they feel cool. Now they had them unplugged from the demo shelf. So couldn't press the demo button to hear the,m. Does the sub really vibrate the room like a car sub would? I mean the kinda vibration he described is car stuff my guy. Keep leaning that way, my friend. 😀 I’m a firm believer that a good ol’ fashioned receiver+wired passive speakers is always a better option in the long run. More work up front to get it all hooked up, but more reliable and more powerful. That Denon is a great value, too. 🙌

I've never experienced in-wall subwoofers before, but I'm sure they're good to some degree! It might not perform the best compared to a normal subwoofer since they have to be pretty slim/narrow to fit inside a wall, but depending on your room, it might be perfect! 🤷♂

Sorry, I have no idea. I’ve never reviewed the Logitech before. But one thing the Logitech has is more versatility, since you can plug it directly into a PC or TV. The Klipsch system has to be powered by a receiver.
So I just ditched my "high end" Q990B sound bar after dealing with issues, for this setup. Im looking forward to seeing the difference.

So, I get that this system thumps, but the big problem I have with my 5.1 system is not hearing dialogue.
Admittedly, I have some acoustic challenges in my home...namely that it's an apartment with the HVAC exhaust right next to my damn TV. And there are limits to how much I can turn my system up because of the neighbors on the other side of the wall.
But the biggest thing I care about is dialogue. Why is this such a problem now?
How does this system perform for being able to hear people talk?
It does pretty well, considering it’s Klipsch, which is most known for its “bright” characteristics. But it’s not just you. It’s quite the well-known issue these days, having dialog less intelligible. I use subtitles pretty much all the time now when watching movies and TV shows with my family.
Just curious, have you ever considered a wireless headphone system? Like the Sennheiser RS 175? Im trying to get my hands on that system to see how good it is with movie watching. 🤷♂️

Question: at 2:35 you said to set the crossover to 110-120hz. What happens my Denon AVR set it to 90 after calibration? Should I change it?
Yeah, since the satellite speakers only go down to 110 Hz, I’d put it back to that, or even 120 Hz, and set the subwoofer crossover to 120 Hz too. 👍

I have the older version the Quintet V. Which I personally think are way better. Got them 50% off on Black Friday from Best Buy. $250 out the door. Matched it to the R-115SW on sale 20% off. $650. Already had a Sony receiver and use this as my bedroom system.

But say you'd maybe want to expand to a 7.1 channel speaker setup sometime in the future? Get a 7 channel receiver like the Denon AVR-S750H or Sony STR-DH790 to leave you the option of expansion.

I have a synergy black label F-200 7.1 klipsch home theater setup, I tested allot of speakers at the Local high end stereo shop , Bose sounded like Tin cans next to Klipsch literally, the only brand that sounded as good was Paradigm but they were about $1100.0 more
I got it for $330 from Costco on Cyber Monday. Should arrive tomorrow. I am planning to keep my nice bookshelf speakers for the L R speakers, and add these for center, sub and surround. Excited to see how they work with my old Onkyo AVR. Then I will look for a good Atmos AVR.

I'm soo excited. I am eagerly waiting for my 5.1 Klipsch setup to arrive. It only costed me ~300 bucks (I think 320 after taxes). Great deal. I tried the Sonos 5.1 setup with their sub, their new white sound bar and 2 rear speakers and it was soo underwhelming. I immediately returned it despite trying to move the sub in different settings. I think Sonos is for people who are not audiophiles. I hope this thing is better then the Sonos.
When it was my main home theater setup, it did the job much better than I was expecting. But I’ve upgraded since then. But that’s the beauty of starting a foundation with a receiver+wired speakers - upgrading over time! 🤘

Initially only ordered the speakers (sub, and 4 "wireless" speakers that make it a 5.1). Later today I cancelled my ordered and reorder ed to include the receiver from some brand called Onkyo. The total there was $628. I figured if I'm going to get my first starter set, might as well get the proper setup.

Thanks! Well, the Fluance I’ve never experienced in person. BUT…on paper it looks to be superior to the Klipsch system: Bigger speakers, bigger, more powerful subwoofer, bookshelf style speakers instead of rounded little satellites, etc. If your listening space is medium sized to medium-large, I think the Fluance is worth the extra cash. But again, that’s just me looking at the specs online. So take that with a grain of salt.😄

Buenos dias! I haven’t personally heard the Jamo set, but I would say it is very similar to the 5.1.4 Cinema System since Klipsch also owns the Jamo brand. But the Jamo set is definitely better looking, compared to the typical black speakers of Klipsch. So I would say Jamo is best, since it sounds great and LOOKS better too! 😁🤘

This speaker bundle requires an AV receiver to power the speakers, since the speakers themselves are passive (non-powered). They do not plug directly into a TV.
I recommend 14 gauge speaker wire to connect these speakers to an AV receiver.
I also recommend a 5.1 channel AV receiver to power the speakers, like a Sony STR-DH590, Yamaha RX-V385, or Pioneer VSX-534 as a few examples.

The nice thing about this system over a soundbar is that you aren’t confined to the width of the soundbar itself. You can make the left, center and right speakers as close or far apart as you want. But using a soundbar just for a center channel? I don’t think that’s done easily, and I don’t think it would improve the situation all that much anyway.

No, unfortunately. The holes in the spring clips are too small. It just accepts bare wire.
Do the satellite speakers plug into the sub? I would like this set but don't want to run speaker cable from the satellite speakers by the seating area to the receiver.
They do not plug into the sub. That’s typical with most soundbars these days. But there are fairly cheap 2 channel rear speaker RF wireless kits to make the surrounds wireless. I’ve never personally tried it, so I’m not sure if there’s a better brand over another, so just Google it. 👍

Yeah, you can get by with 16 gauge wire, but I usually recommend 14 gauge. A little more expensive, but more rigid and lasts longer. 👍
@@ealanosborne Ah okay 14. I'll tell him then. After we hook it up and I've used some lightsaber duels to make sure Jon got the channals right I'll try that Quitij seen from chanber of Secrets. I've listened to each of the 6 WAV files of it via my pro media Klipsch speakers for PC. The $120 ones. I got them at Costco. But yeah I'll try that. Ah the wav file thing. I rip my own DVDs with a share ware called DVD Audio Extractor. If you do it in WAV you get choices. You can do it in Stereo which is the default so you can listen to it on an audio player. Mono I don't know why. But then you can do 6 channal. Now we get nifty. Either a 5.1 WAV you can load on something and play Via your AVR or the real cool cat thing is tell it to save each channal to it's own WAV file. Bam you'll know now what comes from each speaker. It numbers the files even. It's 1 threw 6 and 4 onbviously is the sub. I got it to in a messed up way cause it was on an old 90s PC rip the HD Master track of a Blu-Ray. It was 1 threw 7 then cause the disk was 1 of those 6.1 movies.

That Denon is great! At one point, I had a 5.1 Denon Receiver comparable to the one Costco sells, and it was very nice. Quality 4K video pass-through, excellent audio, good connectivity thru mobile apps, etc. DO IT! 😄

It's got just a touch more power than the Denon, although their room calibration software isn't as good as Audyssey (which comes with Denon), so you might be doing a tad more manual corrections. But pound for pound, Onkyo over Denon just by a hair. But the last thing to consider is music. Yamaha is a clear winner when it comes to a great hybrid home theater/music receiver. And the Yamaha makes it MUCH easier to create a whole home music listening experience all controlled by the TSR-700 (if that's something you're into). Otherwise: 1) Onkyo 2) Denon 3) Yamaha
Ah the lo pass thing. Should I change it? What do you mean it sets the crossover manually? I had Jonathan leave it on full out LFE. But 120 and I think 80 were choices.
Yeah, I’d leave it full out LFE, which is typically a crossover of 120 Hz. That’s best for this little system since the satellite speakers can only handle frequencies as low as 110 Hz, so setting speaker and subwoofer crossovers to 120 Hz is ideal, so that the speakers and subwoofer are all on the same page. Speakers handle everything from 120 Hz and up, and subwoofer handles 120 Hz and below. 👍

You sure can! A speaker is a speaker. It just depends on if your receiver can decode Dolby Atmos and has at least 7 channels. 😀👍 Then you can put speakers wherever you need to.

Great video dude! I’m looking for a multi speaker surround sound system to set up in my room so I can jam out to music nice and loud. I have a pretty big room so this interested me. Would it be possible to simply connect an iPhone to this system to play music? If not, what do you recommend?

Well, since this an “old school” wired speaker system, you’d still have to power the Klipsch passive speakers with an AV receiver and some speaker wire to connect all the speakers to the receiver. But there are some great inexpensive receivers out there that have Bluetooth connectivity to stream music thru it like the Denon AVR-S540BT. I’d recommend that! You’d have 5.1 surround and killer bass for music and it won’t break the bank! 👍
Why do they put more woofers in the center if the center speaker usually carries vocals/dialogue?

Yo Ealan. My nephew finally set the system up. So on the Sub there's a faze thing. What's that do and what's it for? Also the power switch has auto or on. What's auto do?
Hi! Phase is just if maybe there’s some boomy issues or not enough bass due to the location of the sub. Try testing it with phase at 0 and 180 degrees and see if there’s a difference. It might not do anything, or maybe it makes an improvement after all. 😁
“Auto” means it will be on “standby” mode when not in use, then kick on if it detects low frequencies. “On” just means it’s always on. 🤘Happy listening!

Ealan, great video very informative! I know nothing about sound systems so please excuse my ignorance, but I heard you mention connecting the system to a receiver… is this a piece of equipment that you need to make this HOme theater system work or is it a standalone system?
That’s correct. You do need a receiver to power these speakers. Pretty much any intro receiver will suffice - Denon s650h, Sony STR-DH590, Yamah RX-V385. 👍

My subWoofer is not working
Connected my TV HDMI Arc to Sony STR DH540 HDMI Arc out (with high-speed HDMI cable). Connected Klipsch wireless receiver to the AV receiver subwoofer out. Then powered in both Klipsch subW and wireless receiver. Constant blue lights are on. TV settings changed so ARC HDMI is active.... still woofer does not work.. (Have not connected other speakers to AV receiver yet)....what can I try to troubleshoot? Please help.
Good video. I am planning to get this and bookshelf 2 speakers to add them as front left and right and the surround speakers for a 5.1.2 setup. Also, planning to buy a denon S750H. What do you think about this setup?
I literally have another video talking about almost the exact setup. And yes! Get the Denon. If you have (or know someone who has) a Costco membership, that Denon S750h is on a ridiculous sale until Nov 19th! ($320!)

When watching a 5.1 show/movie, should there always be audio coming out of the rear speakers?
Yes, for the most part. Sometimes it’s just wind, reflections of voices, rain, music, etc. And then at times sound effects like ships passing by, or bullets. So yeah, always active to varying degrees 👍

Well, you can use banana plugs on the end that plugs into the receiver, if the terminals can accept banana plugs. But these speakers only accept max 14 gauge bare wire into their terminals.

can I use the Costco Yamaha TSR-700 7.2 / RX-V6A ?? I just bought both of them....the Klipsch speaker pack at $120 off started today and the Yamaha is $70 off. ... I also bought the Klipsch R-51M book shelf speakers to take advantage of the 7.2 surround of the Yamaha....any thoughts? comments?
Yeah, you’re the second person to mention they got the tsr-700 since it’s on sale at Costco. I read the specs and it sounds like an awesome receiver. I have another video about getting a budget Atmos setup from scratch that includes the R-41M speakers too! So you’re on the right track!

For the piece, yes, it’s a great little entry level system, and is surprisingly powerful and detailed with how little the speakers are. Music sounds pretty good too!

@@43SunSon Oh for sure, it works! Getting a 7.1 receiver just means you have the capacity of having a maximum of 7 satellite speakers in the system. But you don't have to USE all 7. So you can definitely have a 5.1 system hooked up to a 7.1 receiver. But HAVING a 7.1 receiver means you can have that flexibility of eventually ADDING 2 more speakers to your 5.1 speaker system later on if you wanted to.
Do I need an RCA Y-adapter to use the subwoofer in wired mode?
Nope. Just a standard mono RCA subwoofer cable should do. That’s how I had it when this was my primary speaker system. 👍

Correct. For home theater. They need to be powered by a receiver since they are passive speakers.

Question for you, it used to be that you knew that 8ohm was for home use and 4 ohm where for car audio. I ordered 5 home theater speakers, but after the fact I noticed that they where 6 ohm speakers. The home theather amplifier ( I just got a yamaha tsr-700 from costco ) I think it can handle different ohm loads. Will using the 6 ohm amp have any effect? do you prefer 8 ohm? whats the deal here?
Oh sure, that Yamaha will still be fine. And even if you had 4 ohm nominal speakers, it would still be fine. It's just better for 4 ohm speakers to have more power driven through them. 6 ohm is still close enough to 8 ohm that it's not gonna matter much.
Hay Ealan I was going toget these as you know for My Onkyo TX-SR 373. But Amazon has the cinema with Atmos 1s for $300 80 something. Now the 373 obviously isn't 9 channal. That being said as they are better speakers minus the 4 atmos channals should I be theoritically able to connect those to the 373?
Oh most definitely! Speakers are speakers, so you can still connect the 5.1.4 Cinema System to your Onkyo. On each of the 4 main speakers, there are two sets of speaker terminals - one set for the main speaker, one set for the Atmos speakers, so you just don’t need to connect the Atmos speakers. Easy! 😁

Probably about the same. Although the Jamo speakers are better looking, if that’s something you care about, instead of just black like the Klipsch.
OK, I need help then. I have this htip, a Denon avr s660h, and an LG TV with both optical and ARC. I cannot for the life of me, get it to sound decent. I did the auto setup with the mic, and it still sounds like garbage. Please help!

@@mosthated8848 I ended up trading mine for an MK2 Arcade 1 cabinet lol. The one at Costco had Dolby due to the ceiling aiming speakers, so I bought that one. Great speakers though.

I sure think it makes a difference! And also, moving to good ol’ speakers and a receiver is a good base to then build off of for future upgrades. Can’t really upgrade a soundbar. 🤘

Thanks so much for the compliments, Richard! For a 5.1 system, I would personally avoid any HTIB that also comes with its own receiver (like the Onkyo HT-s3910). It usually means the internal components of the receiver are pretty cheap. I would recommend getting the Klipsch Reference Theater Pack, the Denon AVR-S650H, and some 14 gauge speaker wire from Amazon. It costs more up front, but it'll last you a lot longer and give you better performance.
As far as an Atmos system is concerned, you'll usually need to spend at least $800 and get a receiver that's at least 7.1 channel. I'm actually releasing another video next week reviewing 2 budget Dolby Atmos soundbar systems, so those might be an option for you too! Be on the look out for that when it comes out! :)
