JUST IN THE USA- There are ~20 Speaker Manufacturers - those that handle 99% of the Speaker Sales in the Country. major Share of Sales from 20% to 40% are Sony/JBL/Bose & Amazon. Most Buyers will be "Interested" within those Top 20 Fabricators/Sellers. WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS A "RECORDING STANDARD" from say S1 to S5 where S5 is Ultimate in Recording Quality - Distortion, Noise, Imaging, Timbre etc.. Plug in to any Decent Amp to various Speakers can tell quickly if they're any good at all.
I have been looking for some tower speaker and the SVS Ultas were on my list, but I never even considered the Pinnacle. I think I will take a look at them.
This video is a good entry into floor tower speakers, but definitely not the best. I would look at: Polk r700, arendal 1723, klh kendall, martin logan xt f100
there is a plethora of floor standing speakers . Apart from the Klipsch and Svs I would not consider any of the other worth looking at. It would be fair if you would have them organized differently , maybe by price ... I mean 500k usd Focal speakers or 1 mil Cessaro Horn Acoustics Omega 1 would outperform any of the ones mentioned in the video .
The Pinnacles are the most linear or clinical unless you go for the Polk Reserve or Legend series. Both are great unless you prefer less clinical with a boosted upper mid and tweeter. Then go with Klipsch. Most people say why would you not go with a linear or clinical speaker? Listen to a Klipsch first and then make your decision. The newer Klipsch are also more linear than the old ones. RP second gen.
I bought the pinnacles about a year ago, they are fantastic. I have them on a Denon X3500h which still sounds good (I run surrounds/atmos on separate amps) so only LCR is on the Denon but I think I m going to look into more power for them soon.

If you are on budget don't get frustrated ! Listen to Q acoustic 3050i , not high priced yet brilliant sound. Q 3050i will beat all the above in blind test 😅😅😅
no, you don't have to rely on bare speaker wire w/spring clips. granted you can't use banana plugs, but you can still use (plated) pin-style plugs w/the spring clips. bare wire only eliminates any loss associated with using a plug but the plugs look cleaner and any "loss" won't be heard by the listener. this is where the video ended for me at 2 minutes in 😔
Who cares open up a speaker , look at the thin leads that goto woofers ...I mean heck, look at a woofer/driver itself. Ever bothered looking at the leads going into the spider ??!

Klipsch is my favorite and I like the way they look 👀 and there are not to expensive unless you go for there top shelf 😂

I love svs but I may go for klipsche for starters, as I wait to upgrade to SVS when the budget allows for it.
I tested those and found the Polk ES60's to be a better choice.

But does the SVS Prime Pinicle sound as good as an ADS L1290?

Would a Pioneer SX-980 (pre digital) be suitable to drive the Pinnacles?

I bought the pinnacles about a year ago, they are fantastic. I have them on a Denon X3500h which still sounds good (I run surrounds/atmos on separate amps) so only LCR is on the Denon but I think I m going to look into more power for them soon.
