- Fire alarm going off at a small DMV location that was in a school. It wasnt a dril because after 30 seconds I was outside, you can hear all of the alarms going off. Not sure if it was some dumbass who pulled it or a false alarm, or the building did catch on fire. I didnt see/smell any smoke or fire and I left right before the firetrucks came soo I wouldnt had to sit there for an hour. The alarms are Wheelock 7002T for the fire alarm nuts out there!
I mean a panel that isn't filtering the low AC frequency from the AC power source and thus also sounds kind of like the ones popular in the 1970s and earlier. ;)
7002t, gotta love them!
Wheelock 7002Ts are 1 of my favorite hornstrobes
You can kinda hear a simplex truealert on code 3. The part when he gets to the door
Oh this takes me back to elementary days. Only our horns didn't have strobes but they were definitely Wheelocks :)
damani williams No, they are set in continuous. 7002Ts skip because of the strobe.
LOVE that sound! (grumbles) -_-
Wow that’s amazing
Reminds me of old Shorecrest High School with those Wheelock 7002t's.
Wheelock 7002T my friends.
They had these at my elementary school the old faraday coded pulls and bells were replaced with these and the pull stations were honywell but I never found out what the main panel was.
Gotta love those 7002Ts :)
FWR Voltage too :D
This is why I’m terrified of fire drill bc we have these things 😓
@Gb755c It is because every time the strobe flashes, the strobe interrupts the power going to the horn. It is weird.
sounds like the alarms in one of the apartments i once lived in.
Thus, the DC current carries the familiar AC sound.
Dahl Hall at Minnesota State University Moorhead uses these alarms. They got a little annoying after they went off 15 times in one semester.
Gotta Have More 7002T!!!
for some reason i actually prefer how these sound on FWR
Sounds like a non-filtered AC-harmonic-DC panel, likely a FireLite.
That 7002t sounds like the ones at a Roblox middle school
It sounds like a bagpipe drone skipping.
What school was this at in Massachusetts?
was this in amity by any chance? ive never heard this type of alarm when I was there
Bilbo baggins pulled the alarm
@jlspeck they are so cool too
alarm shown/heard is in the key of B Major :D
It's a single note, so you are not able to tell if it's major or minor. So, it's a B natural, not major. Saying major/minor indicates that there are multiple notes that create a chord, and there aren't multiple notes, it's just one, and it's a B natural.
Wheelock 7002T's you can tell by the skipping
What is an AC-Harmonic-DC panel?
Sounds kinda raspy, is it on FWR?
yes
@Gr8FishingMadness No it was in Milford at some private or arts school type of thing
Gh
I knew the walls looked familiar! This is the Parsons building (was a high school years ago) and the alarms are Wheelock 7002Ts (though the gym has some Edwards horns and strobes). I’ve been in this building several times, they got some pretty rare fire alarms in there.
That's a 7002t giving off FWR voltage
how do you know? Is it really?
You can tell because it is raspy sounding, if you listen to other 7002T recordings off Filtered DC, it is smooth sounding.
Why do the 7002T's frequently skip like that?
@SpecializedChild462 Not at all.
Those things are so loud , you can hear that one across the entire building.
Which school was this at?
I never liked fire alarms.
Paul W Me neither , those things always scare me to death every time they first go off.
in marchtime 90bpm
AH, just saw
the Parsons Goverment Center :D
but you said a school, what school?
oh; it's the OLD Calf Pen Meadow Elementary School location before moving to 395 Welchs point Rd
pretty loud
you mean 7002t in marchtime 90bpm
give us a warning because that is loud
ew fwr
