    This reminds me of what Sophia Petrillo said in the pilot episode of the The Golden Girls: “Do you know happened? They set off the fire alarm in a retirement home. Who can rush?! Half the people have walkers. The other half can’t get out of their chairs, but they’ve got bells going off like crazy! Do you know what that does to hearts that only beat a few times a week? It’s not pretty!”

      He's in a power chair or scooter and he said in an earlier comment snow banks has the exits blocked. Those things are not designed to go in heavy snow piles a dusting or light coating is ok but the tires on those things will get stuck in anything more than an inch or two. I have one so I know what I'm talking about.

      With a Simplex 2001 panel, no doubt!

  • @GaryBeltz
    @GaryBeltz 12 лет назад +6

    It could be a 2001 but you can do 90 BPM march time on other panels. I guess the 2001 was the one that commonly used it so people just started calling it 2001 March Time. The fire alarm enthusiasts have made their systems sound like this like NewAgeServerAlarm and it is important to note that NewAgeServerAlarm built his panel himself. The Alertek 8005/8004 are his creation.

    @TssCman123 The reason for the electromechanical horns and the lights (which are incandescent, not fluorescent) is that this is an older system. Back then, mechanical horns were more common and strobes were not widely used.

    @clairepal Isn't that a violation of fire code to let snow block the doors?

  • @SimplexEAS2019
    @SimplexEAS2019 16 лет назад +1

    The alarm is definitely a 2901+2903+9806 light plate and the the panel is definitely a 2001 because of the 90bpm march time.

  • @GaryBeltz
    @GaryBeltz 13 лет назад +2

    @TssCman123 Actually for current buildings ADA laws require that strobes be used even in hospitals or nursing homes. Strobes can be adjusted for circumstances like you mentioned. They can be set as low as 15cd and they are required to be synced meaning they all go off at the same time.

He's restricted to riding around in that motorized scooters and those things haven't really been designed for all weather use. My friend takes his out in the snow but that's only cause he HAS to just to get stuff done like grocery shopping but he's already destroyed two scooters because of it and he's on his third.
