    Call me weird, but I love how out-of-sync those 7002Ts are. And probably how mighty loud they are too 😂
    Great video

    That skipping noise 700X(T)s are famous for is a big reason why electromechanical fire alarm horns were eventually no longer made; they draw too much current compared to electronic horns. So when you have a 2-wire electromechanical horn/strobe like that, the strobe's flashing messes with the current flow for the horn. Electronic horns draw much less current, and on a 2-wire electronic horn/strobe you don't have that skipping problem if the horn is set to Continuous. Of course, Wheelock would go on to make some pretty good electronic horn/strobes, like the MT and NS series, the AS and the Exceder.

      @achannelwithnopurpose1977 2 года назад +2

      However, the 7002(T)s were also setup to have a parasitic strobe where when the strobe flashes, the horn cuts off temporarily to charge the strobe. Thats why that horn skips. Too me, the skipping really just seems to be a multitude of problems; that of which were the grounds for mechanical horns to be phased out entirely. Still though, mechanical horns sound better than electrical horns for the most part (except the 4906 series truealert).

    I got a 7002T out of an office building in Salt Lake City which is in the process of renovation. Didn’t even work. Not to mention a Silent Knight 5820XL with a billion troubles. One of the 7002T’s was actually on an SLC loop. Do it right the first time kids!

      @TssCman123  4 года назад +2

      lol, I once saw a pull station mounted at horn/strobe height, and the single gang box below it (for the pull station) had a blank plate over it.

    • @Fahrenheit4051
      @Fahrenheit4051 4 года назад +5

      What's wrong with a 7002T on an SLC loop? Everyone knows that they're super-advanced addressable signals and the skipping sound they make is due to the panel polling their address.

    Those alarms from 0:58 onwards sound creepy! I think I can make out what sounds like an electronic horn on code 3, but it's hard to hear over all those 7002T's. From my experience, the older mechanical horns seem louder than the newer electronic horns, the mechanical horns def get my attention better (when you hear them, you know it means "Fire! Get out now!") than the electronic horns, many of which have a "toy alarm" sound, such as the Gentex SHG and the SpectraAlert Classic, tho there are also quite a few electronic horns that are very loud, such as the TrueAlert and the SpectraAlert Advance, so it depends on the alarm, I guess.

Didn't leave Wal-Mart til 6:00 pm. And we got stuck in traffic. Some guy got mad at us for yielding into traffic properly. We had enough room for god sakes. And he flipped us off. Like dude that really immature.
