@SimplexGrinnellTech My best guess is there is a visual signal circuit coded to fast march, and an audible signal circuit coded to slow march for the horns.
@SimplexGrinnellTech I've seen some of the installers/techs connect smartsync devices to coded signal circuits. the strobes will flash to the temporal coding. I used to note it all the time but nobody in the office took it seriously. so whatever.
@blackmaxima Reminds me of where Vision Therapy and Eye doctor offices are down in Bellaire, Texas. They literally have the same system using 2903 alarms
The place is called Bellaire Family Eye Care. Last time I was there was in 2020. They had one Simplex 4903-9219 horn strobe and some Simplex 2903 light plates on Simplex 2901-9806 horns. I heard them go off once and they had a slow march time feature for walk testing

Seen it quite a few times before that, but usually when I've seen that, the strobes flash at the same rate it's being coded, so here they'd probably flash to a fast march pattern and skip a few times.

I have seen the 20903 at a mall but I have not herd it go off it could be set to code 3 or it could be set to March time or continuous slow March time but If I’m at the mall if it goes off I will film it
@weatherdan882002 I was curious of that myself. If those horn/strobes in the middle of the corridors were added after the original devices, they could be on a dedicated signal circuit. Some of the ADA apartments had strobes, so that's probably the case. I don't think the new horn/strobes were replacing failed devices because you'd probably see a retrofit plate there. I took this video like a year and a half ago when I was still at Simplex.
those could be 9846s like in simplextech’s video of the 4002 in march time one of those horns is really high pitched and stopping it is when you can tell those aren’t 9806s which also sound nasally

i think if it’s in smart sync mode the strobe will flash to the coded nac though the new code says it has to be a certain rate

I've seen a 4005 in person with 4903 horns.
This coding is the slowest march time 20BPM.

Simplex 2903-9001 w/ Simplex 2901-9806 and Gamewell horn

?: do the strobed signals have their own non-coded NAC or are they hooked up to the same NAC that flashes the incandescant lights?
@wileyk209zback Our school has a Siemens MXL-IQ FACP and I bet if they ever built on they would replace it with an MXL
