@a1ex02 Use what you can afford. Most of the items of a 'same brand' come from a whole host of different factories in different countries anyway, so trust your judgement, and your ears!
for the s15 you can actually put the tweeter on the plastic cover that covers the door latch. If you look behind that plastic cover you can clearly see that there was supposed to be a tweeters there yet no s15 was ever released with a tweeter there. Note the plastic is thick.
@stufoo Your stock head unit may already have rca out or else you could use line converters, do some online research into your car but if you want to DIY you are going to have to pull your stock unit out
@bordom007 most cars (my own 01 accord) had rivets instead of screws straight from the factory..so your gonna have to cut/grind then off to remove the stock speakers. For the new speakers you just need to drill new holes..
Id recommend a cross-over to limit the bass to a certain frequency, aswell as a 2 ohm setup, youll get deeper bass and youll get crisper sound in the smaller 8 speakers, this will also prep your setup for a set of tweeters if you choose to.
If you don't have the money for a amp then you can run them off the head unit power, but a amp is recommended since most head units put out 10 to 20 watts a channel and if you have aftermarket speakers that can handle 45 to 100watts of power you wont get the full potential out of those speakers with the head unit power.
Hi Marty and Moog I have a question, i've just bought all new speakers for my 2005 Subaru WRP10, they are 100RMS and will be running off a 500watt Kenwood 4ch i would like to know can i use the factory speaker wires from the door and then my thicker from the back of the head unit to the amp or should i run them directly to the new speaker ? if so how would i go about doing it ?
It depends on the audio quality your looking for. Thicker higher rated cables can handle higher power and generally produce better quality audio. However the difference in quality is very small when running 6-6.5" speakers under about 120watts rms. Running aftermarket wiring can seem complicated but it is usually worth it. Just tape your new wire to the speaker end of your current wires and pull them through from the amp or headunit. The new wires will follow the old exactly. :)
(If you've already gotten the work done disregard this comment) I would say that if you were looking for loud but not to loud, replace the interior speakers. The 03 Oldsmobile Aurora that I'm driving now is really fuckin loud, and has a fuck-ton of bass, but it's all concealed inside the car. Just enough bass to where it's much louder than stock on the inside, but barely louder than stock on the outside.
why jack up the car? i never did when i replaced my speakers. yea i didnt do a complete reinstall of all wiring and stuff but still wondering why jack it up?
I understand that co-axial speakers are the alternative to a separate woofer and tweeter as it's configuration means that the tweeter is mounted in the central of the speaker cone. I also understand the purpose of a crossover as it transfers the audio signal low-mid range frequencies to the woofer and the high range frequencies to the tweeter but is there a specific type of crossover for a co-axial speaker?
when connecting the wires from positive to negative will they play regardless of which one goes on which. idk if i plugged mine right bc it makes a loud vibrating sound when first turning the car on. but stops after like 4 vibrations
@valetdabess There are alot of debadge videos out there already. Its fairly simple and all you need is a heat gun, dental floss, and something to remove the excess glue like googone.
ive actually watched most if not all of the vids seeing that im out of work and dont have college til spring i got nothing better to do but gaming and vids
i know you guys arent too keen on keeping your cars stock but i have a new mitsubishi lancer and i want to keep the factory radio because i think it looks better than a new head unit but how would i install sub woofers without having to hack apart my dash?
well i did upgrade the speakers and my amp is a kinda cheap 1 from my old car but will replace that at some point though and ofc im getting my new kw in the car also just got home 2 stickers from the web shop 14 days of waiting by the mailbox is hard
If I wanted to to add a Center Dash channel to a stock 4-channel radio, is it OK to use the left front positive lead, and the right front negative lead with an 8 ohm L-pad to create a center dash mono channel?
can ya'll make a video on how to increase the mounting depth for car speakers? I am trying to put some compunent speakers in the rear of my 92 prelude.
Lol When I got my eclipse all the speakers were blown and the previous owner did the same thing to modify the speaker system. They used wood like that to mount the speakers and all the wires were tangled and messed up. Oh and did I mention that there wasn't even a working radio?
i'm so used to them jacking up the car that when i saw them do it this time, i completely forgot this was a video on speaker installations and by the time they installed them, i had forgotten the car was jacked up lol
I have 1964 Chevy Corvair. I need to get a new head unit and new speakers (the 6x9 speaker it had in it is garbage) I am looking to buy a new head unit and 2 to 4 new speakers to put in. I've never done any kind of work like this before and have no idea what to get: how powerful of a head, which size speakers, how many watts, ec. I want it to be loud and sound good (it's a convertible so it has to be pretty loud) but it doesn't have to be so loud that people three blocks away can hear it
when i turn my car on the speakers vibrate. where should i get detenning paper so it will sound better and could my problem be bc i didnt Saudered my wires together. the just plugged in. i dont think i had to sauder them
@imthathateruhate Thats how you take out old speakers and put in new ones. Putting in somthing that was never there before is considered installing. If you cant mount and wire your own speakers, you have bigger problems. Kthxbai
Love you guys! You are f**king awesome! Waiting for your new vid all week. Great job guys keep up the good work. :) LOL. That's what i thought. Why would you jack up your car to change speakers? :L
Is there that much work in to changing the speekers? I thought just needed to take of Dore panel Un plug old speekers and unscrew then put new in put car back to get her.?
i have a question my g.f has a toyota starlet put in 4" 120 watt in front under dash and 6" 190 watt in rear all four speakers work but docent sound properly no bass or treble i didn't solder any suggestions please?
César Gomes Installing a sub is really easy. You need to get the music signal from either the radio or a line out converter. You can look up tutorials on RUclips. So run a power cable from your battery to the amp. run a ground cable from the amp to any ground in your car, I prefer drilling into the top of the trunk. Just any metal, you can solder that shit on if you want. run your music line that you got from the radio or line out converter to the amp, it just plugs in simple rca cables. then bare speaker wire positive and negative to the positive and negative on the sub. don't cross the wires or you'll blow the sub up in one go. hope i helped.
@4jiggy1 It splits the signal and sends part of it to the speaker, and part of it to the tweeters.
trolling in 2015, jacked up my car in confusion
Lol I was wondering why they jacked the car hahaha
A Essack it’s a joke in the mcm community
Hahaha 4 years later and I'm like the fuck we jacking the car for
yeah. Me too. ha ha
41 people jacked up there car
Now 58 😂
and everyone who dident died :(
I wonder how many trolls were getting ready to post about not having to jack up the car ?
Henrico Sacco dont see why they would need to jack it up
thats the point edgar. you dont need to jack up the car but thats what they always start with.
@a1ex02 Use what you can afford. Most of the items of a 'same brand' come from a whole host of different factories in different countries anyway, so trust your judgement, and your ears!
the car has to be jacked up so it doesn't roll away from the extra bass :))
@21Jimmy86 Neither of us smoke.
when do i stop jacking my car
Shrumins When it hits an airplane.
When stuff comes out of the tail pipe.
MovieFanaticMike
Shrumins they never jack up the car anymore...
willdmackie lmao
@TCBxJeff 'Overdrive' by MOOG. It's on iTunes. Just search for MOOG JS7 or MOOG OVERDRIVE and you will find it.
this whole time was wondering why you jacked up the car...
I think "Jack up the car" is kind of MCM's moto. That's why they do it even when doing such trivial tasks as replacing the door speakers ;)
@nipperoid We ship tshirts worldwide and there are a whole range available. The TRDLZR ended up getting crushed!
@ollBhangraoll OVERDRIVE by MOOG. The link is in the description.
"Were removing all the Tokyo bondage tape" LOOOOOL
ghostbb bentley I am also laughing out out out out out loud
Wow. The show has changed quite a lot. They should definitely re-do a video like this and include all new speakers and a sub.
@HansyPants184 Look out your window. It's HD outside and should make you much happier.
@combatarms268 It could not be re-registered and we didn't want to been seen in it ever again.
This also gives you an instant 50kilowatts more power
@nipperoid from mightycarmods website
what if my car doesn't have Japanese bondage tape? will it still work!?
Nope, you'll have to import a pallet of the stuff from a Japanese dungeon and keep at least two rolls in your car at all times.
Scheiße! Where can one find a Japanese dungeon?!?
+RunningRiot only on deepweb bro
Lol these two, are still going strong in 2016. Congrats guys
this is the only show that makes working on your car fun and actually works maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
even tho ive done half the things you guys do, i still watch every episode cause you guys are awsome
for the s15 you can actually put the tweeter on the plastic cover that covers the door latch. If you look behind that plastic cover you can clearly see that there was supposed to be a tweeters there yet no s15 was ever released with a tweeter there. Note the plastic is thick.
They totally forgot to mention you have to remove the transmission before installing the speakers. It makes it so much either to jack up the car.
@stufoo Your stock head unit may already have rca out or else you could use line converters, do some online research into your car but if you want to DIY you are going to have to pull your stock unit out

why dont you do a video on how to repaint your car?from start to finish
oh man the quality has come so far
Good episode guys! Any performance installs for the car in the future?
This show is one of the best in youtube
Where was the Dynamat or similar? Informative none the less, well done fellas.
aww smol marty and moog. Such good memories of this years later
I love how people actually believed that the car needed to be jacked up! Haha :')
They make simple stuff look hard
Awesome video! I wonder how many people actually jacked up their car for the door panel speaker mount.
Thank god for people like you guys.
@4jiggy1 keeps the Bass to the subs, and the high notes to the tweeter
@mexicanskater12 now because you don't work under the car but for safety
you can disconect the negative from your battery
Pretty stupid not putting that song on your channel guys. Searched it here on youtube and I'm listening to it now.
If you don't have the money for a amp then you can run them off the head unit power, but a amp is recommended since most head units put out 10 to 20 watts a channel and if you have aftermarket speakers that can handle 45 to 100watts of power you wont get the full potential out of those speakers with the head unit power.
with Moog and Marty you ALWAYS NEED TO JACK UP THE CAR!!
lol I was so confused about why I need to jack up the car these guys are too much, great video.
Another very important thing to remember is the polarity of the speaker wires coming from the head unit
I've never been a fan of the Silvia, till I seen Moog's :D
Now, I'm in love haha.
What's the headunit you have in there? I LOVE the touchscreen!
Hi Marty and Moog
I have a question, i've just bought all new speakers for my 2005 Subaru WRP10, they are 100RMS and will be running off a 500watt Kenwood 4ch i would like to know can i use the factory speaker wires from the door and then my thicker from the back of the head unit to the amp or should i run them directly to the new speaker ? if so how would i go about doing it ?
Sataneliteoneshots actually for that little extra from the use of a amp. bigger wires do make a difference
It depends on the audio quality your looking for. Thicker higher rated cables can handle higher power and generally produce better quality audio. You didn't watch till the end did you?
i thought i did. maybe i didnt.
lowrider766 5:50 ;)
i saw it now. lol
Was labberst du
I've never laughed so much at an instructional video. Bedroom door mounts hahah
why you have to jack up car?!
Did you watch the end of the video
remind me what he said?
Vuk Radevic "but there is one thing you don't need to do Mahtin". "What's that?" "Jack up your cah" or something along those lines
ok thanks
Vuk Radevic Nooo its for safety

I also understand the purpose of a crossover as it transfers the audio signal low-mid range frequencies to the woofer and the high range frequencies to the tweeter but is there a specific type of crossover for a co-axial speaker?
as a general rule, co-axials don't use crossovers.
But, There is a tiny crossover on the back near the magnet. Try looking for that.
If coaxials have crossovers its made internally by the manufacturer. I know polk has its own crossovers on the DB and DXi series coaxials.
@Fatin Ali
Passive crossovers do not need power
when connecting the wires from positive to negative will they play regardless of which one goes on which. idk if i plugged mine right bc it makes a loud vibrating sound when first turning the car on. but stops after like 4 vibrations
@valetdabess
There are alot of debadge videos out there already. Its fairly simple and all you need is a heat gun, dental floss, and something to remove the excess glue like googone.
The wire you're tapping into has to not be on a crossover. Signal has to be full range for both. If you're confident with your wiring I would try it.
ive actually watched most if not all of the vids
seeing that im out of work and dont have college til spring i got nothing better to do but gaming and vids

@leaguechamps07 its got to do with splitting sound into the tweeters or something like that...
when are u guys uploading a vid for amp and sub etc? cant wait for that!! :D
good work guys love the channel, keep it up (Y)
would of been nice ig u guys did an amp n sub install as well but it was still good
If I wanted to to add a Center Dash channel to a stock 4-channel radio, is it OK to use the left front positive lead, and the right front negative lead with an 8 ohm L-pad to create a center dash mono channel?
@mightycarmods
You crushed the TRDLZR??? please tell me those wicked mags atleast made it onto the Audi cause they were to DIE FOR
Which speakers would you recomend for e46 bmw touring? and what specs should i choose ? thanks in advance ;)
can ya'll make a video on how to increase the mounting depth for car speakers? I am trying to put some compunent speakers in the rear of my 92 prelude.
i live in the states and these guys are awesome
the door trim mounts and removal are exactly the same as an s13, even the dodgy speaker mount required
Lol When I got my eclipse all the speakers were blown and the previous owner did the same thing to modify the speaker system. They used wood like that to mount the speakers and all the wires were tangled and messed up. Oh and did I mention that there wasn't even a working radio?
I love the song you made Moog, its playing all the time in my car :D
Ha, look at you two working in a standard garage, I bet you'd never have thought you be were you are now :) well done guys!!
I wish they used adverts. Feel bad looking over these and seeing they have made little money off them. They deserve more
Yolothereindeer- COC Bases & Strategy The only RUclips's were I wouldn't mind watching ads to support them
@@jakemeikle537 I’m glad they don’t have ads on the old ones. Old RUclips authenticity
These guys are funny, and informative. I love it. Subscribed!
Tokyo bondage tape lol
Another great episode, very informative. Keep up the good work.

LOL I was wondering why these guys jacked up the car, then ... :) Awesome video guys, I'm subbing and please do sub install next.
I connected everything as you said. But when I'm accelerating the car I hear a whistle/ beep from the speakers.
Hello . Make a video installation cd changer in the car/in the Vauxhall Vectra B - ok ?
Nice looking speakers. Phase plugs FTW
Hahaha...I was saying the same thing too at the end, why do you have to jack up your car? lol. good one boys!
@imthathateruhate Thats how you take out old speakers and put in new ones. Putting in somthing that was never there before is considered installing. If you cant mount and wire your own speakers, you have bigger problems. Kthxbai
i was using my car's stock jack, you know those cranked action ones? so it was a bit more than 5secs :P
You have to jack the car up for anything that you do. It is a MightyCarMods necessity
japanese tape is pink, Australian tape is black, usa tape is gray?
I also use a lighter for heatshrink, and I have yet to burn a wire jacket. And besides, a lighter is way more handy than a heat gun.
Love you guys! You are f**king awesome! Waiting for your new vid all week. Great job guys keep up the good work. :)
LOL. That's what i thought. Why would you jack up your car to change speakers? :L
@robm425 Doesn't Marty have the Audi? he may not have bought anything over there
@geppegep umm mechanics, car enthusiasts the list goes on and on
Is there that much work in to changing the speekers? I thought just needed to take of Dore panel Un plug old speekers and unscrew then put new in put car back to get her.?
Back to gether
+MRnickee Jones Yes, and definitely don't forget to jack up the car!!!!!
***** ha ha I won't
+MRnickee Jones lmao that's some amazing spelling

That pink 'gaffer tape' is called masking tape in the UK :P

If u have the Earth cable where the power cable is suppose to be it will sound SHIT, so just switch them around.
What song were you guys using to test your speakers?
Please can you tell me what is THE easiest wat to place the + drom THE back of mine Sirion daithatsu to THE batterie
I am much obliged. Thanx
if I want to install a sub, I need an amp right? but is the amp only connected to the sub or is it connected to the speakers too? thanks.

Can someone yellow whether soldering speaker wires adds resistance to da connection, which reduces sound quality?
