Hey guys, I'm a new subscriber. I'm 43 years old from the United States. Originally from New York and now live in the wilderness in pennsylvania. This video brings back a lot of memories for me. When I was about 20 years old my friend used to buy cars at auction from the Department of Transportation and they were always Ford Tauruses. So one day we stripped out a turbo kit from a pontiac gtp and fit it to the Ford Taurus. It took about 2 weeks because we had to have quite a few custom parts and gaskets made to make it fix. After it was finally done my friend got in the car and did a burnout that was about 300 ft long and it blew the motor. It took a lot of time and effort to get that turbo put in but it blew that engine real quick. But we were young and it was fun. My friend use to paint cars in his garage, fix all of our cars(i had a 1988 trans am) and it was a hang out spot and alot of fun. I miss the good old days

The reasonator that you were holding is called a quarter wave resonator. It is designer for a wave to hit the end of it and bounce back exactly half a wavelength later. The original wave is then hit by this wave coming back from the reasonator, reducing the noise. But the reasonator can also be tuned to create an additional stronger pulse into the intake, increasing the torque slightly at a certain rpm. If you want more information on this just Google quarter wave resonator or Helmholtz resonator. These reasonators are also very common in exhaust to remove drone at a specific frequency(rpm).

Don't smear it afterwards as it can introduce air pockets or not seal correctly. Leaned this at VW, haven't had a sump leak since, and it's always nice to see an even bulge on the edges when you're tightening it up

Congrats to Haltech for having a go on this one. Despite the turbo disappointment, we installed King Springs, Whiteline adjustable swaybars, slightly enlarged rear muffler, high flow cat, and derestricted the intake. She still got up and went surprisingly well. 115kw to about 140kW if my memory recalls correctly. 120km/h through a corner steering with a pinky finger on 45 aspect 18" tyres. So well balanced. Yeah, I watch a few other car guys, and no one rivals MCM on audio. Moog is legit one of my favorite artists, but it's how rock steady their audio quality is when the boys are speaking that rates them at the top. Gears and Gasoline are another channel I enjoy. Their camera work is pretty good with great environmental shots. Their speech audio has times where it take a noticeable dive, and there's uneveness on the volume, but they're the ones that come closest to mimicking MCM's attention to audio detail.
There's so many car guys where I just skip through their videos because the audio is either phone audio, camera audio or unprotected from environmental noise that I just get irritated.

It also scales linearly with displacement. Toyota makes a "OEM" stroker kit with the 1AR, making it 2.7 instead of 2.5, that should get you to just about 300 WHP.

Guys, awesome work been a big fan since forever. I have a 2005 Camry that I turbo charged back in 2009 and have never tuned it nor have I found anyone that could. I’m in SoCal if anyone knows of a place I would really appreciate it. Might I add this is my first car and I’m proud to say I still have and want to finish it light you have.

I love this build, mainly why is because a lot of people when they get their first car it’s usually something like this or some turd Saturn or whatever it is. But because it’s our first car we have huge dreams of building it into something crazy. This Toyota kind of reminds me of those days when k had a 90s Honda accord with a single cam and put the cheapest turbo I could on it just for the sounds

I just have to take a moment to mention how absolutely surreal it is to see you both leaning on a *Camry* in the same spot where so many unique nuggets and iconic legends have sat.
I've never seen something so bluntly normal and yet entirely strange on this channel.
