I'm not even a Dodgers fan but i almost cried during this video
Same here

Aidan Last I did
@@dansprague2 Not here either. I cried. From a Pirates fan. They don't make them like Vin anymore.
Same
Just learned of his passing. I was never a Dodger fan, but I was devastated to hear about it. I can't say I cry much, but I definitely shed a couple tears. He was the greatest to ever step into a broadcaster booth. Rest easy, legend.
I remember watching dodger games when i was real young and I was comforted by his voice. The world lost a legend today. Rest in peace Vin
Me too
Doesn't matter if you're 25 years old (my age) or 57 today my dads age and even before that we had an icon broadcasting to us there will never be a better. Just the full personality he was a historian. American history, cultures of baseball in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, China, Australia, any country and he had passion to bring back stories and do research into peoples life. There will be no other like VIN
@@noahrodriguez8893 Yeah I loved his random stories he used to tell
I’m not primarily a Dodger fan, but I grew up in LA listening to Vinny call games. Today was definitely hard, but at least he’s with his wife now. Rest in peace. There will never be a greater voice in the sport.
You cant be a baseball fan and not love Vin Scully. Simply the best of all time

I love how there were no arguments with this
As a Brewers fan I agree with you
He’s awesome
I love John sterling too
"There will be a new day and eventually a new year, and when the upcoming winter gives way to spring, rest assured once again it will be time for Dodger baseball" gets me everytime
Every winter I come back to this. Baseball man
@@jamesdakrn Check out Vin reciting " people will come" it's great, and the images are fantastic..❤️🙏👉🇺🇸👍
I still cry every time I hear this😭💔
@@John_the_Terrible Came back to this in honor of opening day the other day and teared up again
Should've let him announce MLB the show 17
MLB Talk he was awesome in the 989 sports mlb series (The Show's ancestor lol)
Stocks Calvert or maybe a game in the World Series with the dodgers vs astros
Yessssssssssss
It would be impossible to put that voice in a game tho, they would have to have him tell a story about every single player 😂
Stocks Calvert they really should, the mans getting up there in years so it would be smart to put him in the game while he's still around and able.
Rest In Peace Vin. You were the voice of the Dodgers, the greatest sportscaster ever, a truly kind and gentle soul, but more importantly, you were friends to so many people. I'm glad you're back with your wife once again. Rest well Vin.
I don't care if your not a Dodger fan as I am. Everone loves Vin Scully! He was able to explain the game so well it was as if you could smell the Dodger dogs.
ADVENTURES with Christian I'm a Brewers fan and I love Vin Scully
Richard Eggers The best to ever announce!!!
Tigers fan here, my favorite Scully moments were when he'd talk about pranks going on in the dugout or a player who is upset and taking his frustration out on something
White Sox fan here, he's a legend!!!
ADVENTURES with Christian i am a giants fan and vin scully is my favorite announcer
Wow… came into Baseball a Giants fan on Oct 2, 1936. Became a legend as a Dodger. Signed off on a Giants Dodger game on oct 2, 2016. Passed during a Giants Dodgers series aug 2, 2022. May our beloved friend Rest In Peace.
And Vin's favorite player was always Willie Mays.

Just heard of his passing just a few minutes ago. I didn't grow up a Dodgers fan but I still grew up with him. I will still hold his call on Game 6 of the 1986 World Series: "Little roller up along first.....BEHIND THE BAG! HERE COMES KNIGHT AND THE METS WIN IT!". And Game 1 of the 1988 World Series: "High fly ball into right field, SHE IIIIISS GOOOOOOONE!". And the football game that turned my entire household into 49ers fans for at least one day: "IT'S A MADHOUSE AT CANDLESTICK!"
Godspeed, Mr. Scully! You were truly The Voice of Baseball.
Thank you Vin Scully for 67 wonderful years of Dodger Baseball.
Now that I have a PS3 again, I can play my MLB 2005 game for PS1 which features Vin Scully calling play by play with Dave Campbell.
Rest in peace, Mr. Scully. Thank you for everything.
Rest In Peace to the best broadcaster in Major League Baseball history, matter of fact, sports history: Vin Scully, the voice of the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers and the MLB. Very sad evening in the world of baseball. 💙💙💙
As a Giants fan, this made me tear up, even though he was he voice of the rival, he is a legend and i loved this video.
Respect!!! Thank you.
Thank you Scully! Youve been the best to our lives in Baseball. At night and at day. You'll always be the melody to our ears!
Why isn't he commentating the Dodger's postseason?
I think he did the radio broadcast last year during the playoffs. He can't do TV but he can do radio during the postseason.
He said he didn't want to "say goodbye 12 different times" so he announced in September before the Dodgers even made the playoffs that he would not be doing any postseason games this year and that the season finale would definitively be his last game.
Spectrum xxxx. bj
Spectrum it is just people who dont understand baseball or adulthood
Vin scully is a legend. I'm not a Dodgers fan at all (I'm actually an a's fan) but you can't have ANYTHING but respect for this man. For his dedication. For his passion for the game of baseball. And his voice is pretty damn soothing also. I can wish nothing but hope that he has a great post baseball career.
Who else here tearing up after he passed

I'm an Angels fan but Scully is hands down the best baseball tv voice in history

When I come to this country

Eventually I was listening the radio an watching tv with the voice of Vince the baseball ease very easy to learn
We will miss you Vince
Rest easy, legend. You truly are and always will be the platinum standard of broadcasting.
I agree. I only became a dodger fan and started watching in 2022. But I wish I would've found my love for the dodgers earlier to hear Vin Scully.
Rarely watch baseball and have never heard of Vin Scully before his passing.........but his voice makes me feel like I've known him my whole life
Tonight We all need You Vin. A Devout Catholic Man of Integrity and a Super Human Being.
This video hurts to see even worse now.
Rest In Blue Heaven
Watching this after he passed is so sad
You are the most beautiful person on Earth Vinny ❤️😞
rest in peace vin scully. may you call baseball games up in heaven
That guy was simply the best!!!!! Just a treasure. A perfect broadcaster!
Yes
I'm a Yankee fan. But moreover I'm a baseball fan. And his final sign off is so damn beautiful. Puts tears in my eyes. So eloquent and moving. Did he write that or did he just improvise that on the spot? I've heard different theories but don't know for sure. Someone tell me please.
jmljr93 If I had to guess, I'd say it's a wee bit of both. He's always been a man who likes to do his homework, but also has a flair for improvisation, so...
Vin Scully has broadcast games for my grandfather, my father, and, finally, for me. He's responsible for three generations of baseball fans-one who listened intently to games from a cabinet-sized radio, one who fell asleep with a radio under his pillow, and, finally, one who'd watch Vin's simulcast games from his iPhone. Baseball is only great insofar as the fans can watch, listen, and appreciate it, and nobody has been as important to that end as Vin Scully. I've watched this video six times now, and I cry every time. He started broadcasting when my grandfather was twelve, and he retired when I was eighteen. That's one hell of a career.
It's possible he covered your great grandpa too, assuming he was in the states at the time. He started calling games in the 50s, and GG was almost certainly still alive then, no?
Yankees fan here. He'll be sincerely missed.

If you grew up in LA, like I did, Vin is like a member of the family. Vin's voice was everywhere during the season, and was a constant in your life.
We all grew up, LA changed a lot, some of us moved away but Vin (Thanks to technology) was still accessible. We have a Collegiate Summer League team here in the rural town I live in now, and during their games I would watch/listen to Dodger games on my tablet, it was amazing how many people would hear his voice and ask "Is that Vin Scully"? then share a memory of Vin calling a World Series game, an NBC game of the week, or like me share memories of listening to Vin on a transistor radio, either in the stands at Dodger Stadium, or with the radio under their pillow.
@Gabby's Goodies Vin was more of a father to me than both my biological father and stepfather combined.
Thanks for being a fan and believing in Dodger Baseball 🎾🏈💙💙⚾️, It great honor, Communicate with me on Gmail section thanks, Vinscully19@gmail.com
I remember texting my dad when he did his final game… and he responded “through all the gimmicks over the years, Vin was the one constant” couldn’t have said it better
Westlake District since the 90s
I grew up next door to Chavez Ravine ..in Highland Park...so,Vin was in my backyard 3 miles back...growing up from the late 60s - present, I grew up during Fernando Mania and the World Series wins of '81 & '88....he will be missed greatly 😢
This video hurts more than it ever did now. Thank you Vin.
At one time, L.A. sports fans were once blessed with not just one great announcer but two…Vin Scully and Chick Hearn. Arguably, the two greatest announcers of their particular sports. I thank them both!!!
Rest in peace, legend. They don't make them like this anymore. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
Dodgers make World Series in Vinny's 1st year not broadcasting... Wish he would've went another year. Miss you Vin!
They got their asses whooped 7-1 for Scully's final game and could not even win a WS for him the year after.
But Scully was a Giants fan anyways so
sadly now it has 51
I mean they did, but you have to remember, he didn't call the 2016 playoffs and retired at the end of the regular season because he didn't want the postseason focus to be on him and his retirement with every game possible being his last when that focus and excitement should be focused on the Dodgers. He wouldn't have called the 2017 playoffs either.
@@weirdxgaming8923 Well the Dodgers got cheated on by the Houston Cheaters so that’s why they couldn’t win the World Series that year
Devastating news to hear about his passing. May he Rest in Peace.
I'm not crying....YOU'RE CRYING
Rest In Peace Vin. Massive baseball fan from Australia. Even though I’m from the land down under, I can still appreciate your calls. Rest easy legend. The game of baseball will always and forever be in your debt.
And now he has passed at 94.
Vin Scully
1927-2022
This sign off is even more emotional because of the current situation with Vin Scully.
I’m a Cubs fan, but Vin is definitely the best to do it. I will never forget the time I learned about and heard Vin Scully singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at Wrigley Field the year after Harry Carey passed away. It was possibly the best and sweetest rendition of it to ever be sung since the tradition started, especially considering Vin sang “Cubbies” instead of “Dodgers”, showing the man had and still has class.
I can’t believe Vin Scully is actually gone. One of the most iconic voices in baseball…….gone forever.
This for real made me cry #VinScullyNumber1Dodger

Rest In Peace Vin 😭 we love you, We will all meet you again one day 🙏🏽 love you vin
Just passed away. May god bless his soul. What a wonderful man he was. As usual, it will be time for Dodger Baseball. Much love to you Vin. God. Bless.
Vin Scully talked to me as a child more than my father ever did. And I’m so lucky that I was able to thank him for this when I met him as an adult. A father figure. A hero. A legend. While I will always appreciate his modesty, Vin could never have needed me as much my heart needed his voice to beat along to.
rest in peace to the greatest to ever do it.
It’s hurst even more now that he’s gone, thanks vin.
Vin Scully was to The Dodgers what Chick Hearns was to the Lakers. The voice that made the game magical. Baseball will never be the same. My heart is heavy today. He will be missed.
as tears are flowing down my face, i need to point out that if you look up the phrase Class Act in the dictionary, you will see the face of Vin Scully. G-d bless him with many more healthy, vibrant years
The soul of baseball
I can tell you when I wasn’t playing baseball on Saturdays as kid I was in front of the tv watching game of the week with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola. Before the days of internet and the ability to watch every game every day, I had a weekly appointment to hang with Vin and Joe for three hours. It solidified my passion for the game. While I wasn’t good enough to make the big leagues, it was my childhood memories that helped shape my love for the game which has been passed on to my own son. Hats off to you Vin and thank you.
Vin Scully was the soundtrack to my youth in summertime.
I was born in 1960 and grew up every summer listening to dodger baseball with my late dad.
We would play Little League games and then the background on the radios you could hear Vin Scully calling a game. That somehow made our little league games so much more realistic.
This video has brought tears to my eyes, tears of joy and fond memories.
Thank you Vin Sculley
Scully's signed off for good, boys.

It's nice how he passed today, when the Dodgers were at Giants stadium, just like his final sign off in 2016 at the same stadium.

I had my transistor radio under my high school graduation gown, listening to Vin broadcast the game. 🙂
One of the most legendary broadcasters will be missed.
No one ever did it better, and no one ever will.
I grew up in Los Angeles listening to Vin Scully for nearly my entire life, sixty years. When he retired in 2016 I soon began to realize how privileged I was to hear him call Dodger games, the others are good but Vin Scully is the da Vinci of baseball broadcasters. Listening to his radio calls was like theater of the mind, he could bring you right down onto the field as if you were there watching the game in person. Nobody comes close to his gift of making the game come alive. I recall a day game years ago he was calling on radio, it was a real bright day and players were having a lot of trouble picking up the ball on pop-ups and fly balls. Later in the game after a number of dropped and misplaced balls Vin says “balls are dropping like rice at a wedding”, come on who says that. Also, something fans may not know or realize about Vin Scully is his incredibly deep knowledge of the game. I played baseball as a young boy and followed the game closely as an adult however, I learned more about the game of baseball listening to Vin Scully than from any coach, player, book, film or any other source about the game...he is immensely knowledgeable of the macro and micro aspects of baseball. He would often refer to the "game within the game", the time when a pitcher needs to watch and keep a runner on base and from advancing while also needing to make the pitches to get the batter out. Vin Scully educated and enlightened me about baseball to a level that causes me to appreciate the game today in ways that I don't think I could had it not been for him. Thank you Vin Scully, I am forever grateful for your contribution and love of the game of baseball.
3 years later still chokes me up
There will never be another, rest in piece!!!!!
Rest In Peace legend 💔💔
