What are they doing besides show their ass on runway? Absolutely nothing. That's why they wouldn't even last with these women. These women right here are SUPERMODELS, breaking barriers for women. @@waytha86 Bashing others and putting others down isn't an opinion. And you speak about loving women that empower, but what are you doing? You're actively choosing to put other women down instead of support them. You're judging their bodies. You're blaming them for anorexia and bulimia (whereas in reality, anorexia and bulimia are mental health diseases and people who have them aren't necessarily skinny). You're just being an overall small-minded, disgusting person. I don't understand how you can live while putting down and insulting an entire industry of women whilst being extremely uneducated about it. You should be ashamed. I'm not the biggest fan of obesity, but I will never shame someone for having an eating disorder. If I see a fat person, I will never say they're promoting obesity, because I respect that different people have different body shapes. Some people look skinny af and eat like a horse at every meal. Some people barely eat, but have a lot of fat on them. We all have different bone shapes and metabolisms. Fitness is also an amazing thing that not only allows you to have big muscles. As an example - Victoria's secret angels train VERY hard. Especially prior to a show. They simply train in a different way with a different purpose. They train to have less fat and lean muscle. FFS, most of them have CRAZY abs!

    Maddy's a champ. She was at a severe disadvantage not only because of her height, but she lacked the proper technique in the rower. She was pulling too rapid but short of a pace which only jacked up her heart rate. Dana and Mattie's pulls in comparison were longer and more powerful. Even without cardiovascular endurance in her arsenal, Maddy came through strong.

I saw some thing, where they need to slam a box with a hammer, they basically all tried to drag it, while the commenters clearly said it is not allowed, no one gives a fk because its crossfit.
      I can somehow see the argument about the pull-ups etc. But the deadlifts, my god. Just apply powerlifting rules plz to those 1RM in the games.

      the whole concept of crossfit is the same weights/standards for all athletes. So of course she will have the same height box. Which honestly shouldn't really matter because it still wasn't that tall of a box. And they actually gave her a crash course on the rower prior to the comp starting. Id also like to mention that DLB and mattie rogers also had very little experience with a rower. So ya she wasn't at any disadvantage shes just not as good at adapting to new movements as the others were.

    The reason why CrossFit can be dangerous. Brooke’s form on the deadlift was a lot of back arching as she got got fatigued.
    I’ve done a lot of CrossFit, but my main issue is high speed Olympic and power lift movements without correct form and injury.
    Either way, awesome job from these ladies. Great job all around.

    • @AbidingHopeMentalHealthCoach
      @AbidingHopeMentalHealthCoach 5 лет назад +24

      Todd Allison There were a lot of form issues in this. DLB didn’t come to full extension on the deadlifts, you’re supposed to land with full foot on the box, rowing bringing the bar to the bottom of the sternum… at my CrossFit box they take weeks to teach correct form and figure out proper progressions and scaling for everyone that comes into the gym (well, maybe only a couple days for experienced Crossfitters, but most people don’t have the experience). It’s sad they didn’t at least teach correct rowing and box jumping form to the ladies who hadn’t rowed before.

    Idea for next season : bring in coaches! Assign / let athletes choose a coach for the entire comp or for a single event. The interaction of the different personalities would be dope, and viewers would get to see how high level coaches are able to help athletes strategize and adapt when the cards are stacked against them (i.e Maddy on the rower). Would be way more entertaining to get the insight of high level coaches while watching the athletes throw down than just watching the athletes slug it out for 10 minutes again.

      She was really smart about the box jumps. Instead of stepping down and putting that extra load on the quads everytime, just dropping down and using the coiled energy to spring right back up made her fly through those box jumps. Maybe it's because she was dealing with an injury, but you could see her carefully thinking through economy of movement and setting her form well the entire time. She wasted less energy than everyone else.

      Not a crossfit fan here, but in all honesty, when your back muscles are as strong as hers, you're not really in danger of damaging your spine much with a weight so far below your max. If she was doing any kind of heavy weight for her, her for. Would've been much more acceptable.

      @@danielmorton4306 she has had a spinal fusion, so she should try and keep her back rounding to a minimum if she doesn't want to bust it again.

    I know nothing about crossfit, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and weightlifting. But, I can tell you right now that I don't even need to finish this series to know that every last one of them is a winner. I've never seen anyone work that hard in my life.

    10:25 this is the problem I have with CrossFit. When you get tired in the workout and have to perform Olympic lifts or any complex compound movement, form starts to break down...

    Living for this series and these women! I used to follow Mattie when she was a cheerleader and DLB got me interested in working out. Love it.
