I think the main reason you don't see as many people choose the sport of wrestling is the fact they have to cut weight and the cardio requirements are insane. It's a tough and brutal environment with no real payday at the end of the road like you get in NFL. As for where I am in the USA and choosing wrestling vs track or soccer: For high school, wrestling is a winter sport like basketball. Football and soccer are fall whereas track is spring. Amazing women. I legit followed Mattie on ig after this, she's so freaking COOL - it's a shame her points weren't divided separately on the athletics section though.
Brooke coming back from injury dominates and wins, taking first or second in every single event - lifts, bodybuilding, and sports. An amazing athlete. All are amazing. All being friends by the end is not surprising as they all share the same interest - athletics - in different ways.
So disappointed by how stupid and pointless the final was. I really enjoyed the other episodes, but this one was a let down. I thought this was about strength, not the most boring sport ever meet watermelon eating contest. Wtf.
@Michael Hilbe lol well I'm not athletic at all and I can play baseball and eat watermelon pretty well. I watched this series to see amazing women do things that I can't do in my backyard. Also just seems like fan service to me. Nothing inspiring about chicks running around then getting melon goo all over their face. I guess I just really hated this because I am not a fan of "play" sports. That's all we had in my school and it was super boring and I didn't participate. It wasn't until my 20s that I found weightlifting and kickboxing and found sports that we're about strength and being your best, not playing with other people over a concept that doesn't matter.
Couldn't agree more with your constructive criticism Michael! I enjoy learning about powerlifting and was excited to see an Olympic athlete. Rowing machines was fun too, as I love using those myself. Would like to see more working out vs. sports. You can be an athlete without playing sports.
Wasn't too excited for the softball portion of this vid. Should've used a machine to make it fair... A bit a coaching maybe??... Seemed odd to include this sport.
Because softball is one of the hardest sports... statistically speaking hitting a 65-72mph ball from 40ft away is one of the hardest things you can do in a sport. Similar to hitting a 95mph baseball which is obvs also statistically considered to be almost impossible.
Not Necessarily. Last year with the guys it was a beer drinking and hamburger eating contest. I think it’s just something that each individuals training can’t give any advantage what so ever.
I just binged this series. I picked up my weights on episode 2. Did like 3 curls and said fuck it and watched the rest of the series eating pizza in bed.
Think of us as animals (which we are) and it may make more sense. The fittest survive because they dominate competitors and two of the main prizes of life are sustenance and reproduction. It's a tough and brutal environment with no real payday at the end of the road like you get in NFL.
As for where I am in the USA and choosing wrestling vs track or soccer: For high school, wrestling is a winter sport like basketball. Football and soccer are fall whereas track is spring. So they only need to choose between wrestling and basketball usually.
So y’all got some elite athletes here... and your thought was... “let’s have them eat watermelon!” Really though 🤷🏻♀️
Exactly...
And also did not ask them about their allergies (!)
Ikr
this one was dissapointing, at least don't pick sports that they have done before if you don't want it to be skewed in someone's favor
They wanted it to be skewed
Give them the list of challenges a few weeks ahead of time at least.
Ence - 'Elbows off the table, bro!'
Forberg - 'When was that a rule?!'
😂😂😂 #BroSisterhood
Yeah the Softball portion was kind of meh, should have allowed them to hit their best 6 with that pitcher or use a pitching machine to make each of the 6 shots fair..
Definitely should have only count hittable pitches or a pritching machine. From what they showed Brooke had better pitches.
brooke wouldve won by an even larger margin then so it wouldnt have changed the scoreboard at all
@@Mooshimoca not talking about score, but if you're going to make them all do the same weight, same number of sprints at same 40yd, same number of kicks for goal at same distance.. etc u get it.
Yeah that pitcher was terrible
Like the sport, they were calling balls and strikes and you did not have to swing at pitches that were balls.
Mile run, swim, bleep test, a simple push up, sit up, pull up test. anything other than that crap.
Phys Astra Brooke would smoke all of those events.
No kipping!
Couldn’t agree more w/ Phys Astra. Maybe isolated muscle workouts like calf raises, bicep curls, etc to give other trainers a chance
idk that sounds boring to watch and do and has been done before, I preferred this format.
@@shannons1886 I think Mattie showed she is the better runner. Swim we have no idea cardio doesn't transfer over to the swimming. Simple pushups situps and pullups yes Brook would win.
Just want to say I loved discovering this short series two years later! Trying to figure out my own fitness journey, super inspiring seeing positive women in all sorts of areas of fitness! Not sure where my journey will take me but it’s awesome knowing where I could end up! :)
I was rooting for DLB the wholleeee time. I love her so much tbh.
I love THIS SOOOO MUCH. Do more with women please
Yesss, we need it!
Emdawg😁😁😁
@Larry Myers creep. That was just so weird dude!
@Larry Myers huh?
frfr this was greeat
Why didn’t they weigh the melon 🍉 pre and post?!??! 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I'm saying!
Smart
Sprinting: “We have two lasers!” Watermelon: “Ah ... it’s a tie?”
This series literally stopped me from quitting the gym 😂
Mattie definitely got slated on the scoring system based on vertical jump, 40 meter dash, etc- they all did so great. Inspiring. I loved Maddy, definitely jealous of her power thighs. 😍 but overall such strong women!!!
Bruh. I hope he refers to men’s competitive attitudes as “catty” 🙄
Keiha Danaher even Brooke used the word “catty”, relax tumblrina.
🙄
@AVXVA "you finding something annoying is the reason someone will continue that action" you're not wrong but it doesn't mean the action is ok, it's just stupid calling eachother catty
The powerlifter is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal
lmfao u aint never lied
So to summarize:
Experience beats all
MiyaMiya Roids beat natty athletes, yes.
Yes, that is why CrossFit does all sports. She didn’t just win the softball event.
@my mom That is a very passionate comment, but yes I can agree to a degree. I have a feeling they didn't really take these episodes that seriously as it was treated like a spin-off of the Strong Man series.
Let me fix that for you, you meant to say “competitive” NOT “catty.”
Yeah I caught that real quick. What a shitty fucking thing to say.
Oh no I heard it got real catty!!
He tried to clean it up after that slipped out but they should have just cut it from the video.
Daily dose of being offended
Who cares
Amazing women. I legit followed Mattie on ig after this, she's so freaking COOL - it's a shame her points weren't divided separately on the athletics section though.
Brooke coming back from injury dominates and wins, taking first or second in every single event - lifts, bodybuilding, and sports. An amazing athlete. All are amazing. All being friends by the end is not surprising as they all share the same interest - athletics - in different ways.
Big crush on Mattie. Big love for DLB. Brooke and Maddy are great too.
Everyone is so lovely.
So disappointed by how stupid and pointless the final was. I really enjoyed the other episodes, but this one was a let down. I thought this was about strength, not the most boring sport ever meet watermelon eating contest. Wtf.
I'm disappointed in how much whining you're doing
I thought it was funny...
It was cool until the competition became the #waterelonchallenge, the score in this episode fucked the real result.
Brooke may have "won" the competition but DLB and Maddy definitely won our hearts
Mattie Rogers was my favorite. And I believe that she was the rooting favorite among the general audience.
7:13 "it s so weird to have a face mask on" oh damn different times... We had no idea what was coming
Wasn't too excited for the softball portion of this vid. Should've used a machine to make it fair... A bit a coaching maybe??... Seemed odd to include this sport.
Testing hand and eye coordination. How else would you purpose they test that fairly to each person?
They didnt just hand a woman something UNFAIR!!!!
True. This episode sucked.
Because softball is one of the hardest sports... statistically speaking hitting a 65-72mph ball from 40ft away is one of the hardest things you can do in a sport. Similar to hitting a 95mph baseball which is obvs also statistically considered to be almost impossible.
I wish they had used a pitching machine. Not all the pitches were the same for each person, which I didn’t like.
I think they ran out of ideas with the watermelon round. 🤨
Kristen Colin hey it was fun lmaooooo
Not Necessarily. Last year with the guys it was a beer drinking and hamburger eating contest. I think it’s just something that each individuals training can’t give any advantage what so ever.
emDawg tits or gtfo
It was fun and silly
John Doe you’re so cool and manly, huh?
This series got me back into the gym tbh
Misogyny Man wow, you live up to your name
@Misogyny Man lol
Oh awesome. I work out too. Which gym? 😉
One of the coolest events/series I have seen in a LONG time! So much fun to watch each of the athletes compete.....Congrats Brooke on the win.
Woot, LET'S GO BROOKE!!! I absolutely love this!!! Can't wait for the next set of ladies!
Loved the series!! The girls had an awesome competitive spirit & great support for one another
This was an amazing series, genuinely sad to see it end
i love DLB and her little laugh lollll i feel like she’s always laughing
DLB's personality is my fave
I just binged this series.
I picked up my weights on episode 2.
Did like 3 curls and said fuck it and watched the rest of the series eating pizza in bed.
My relationship with working out right there
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
NOW mixed pairs Brute Showdown
I want a girl like Mattie Rogers in my life 😍😥
you are stunning as well :P@Wafaa Akmal
Legit who don’t
@@gomigozz1996 Virgin alert Jesus Christ BEEEEEEEETAAAAAAAAA
DarkRattle why does my pee pee come out yellow
u need to make her look like this ^^
Really love the series but just don't understand the point of the watermelon eating contest
It's just for fun.
They were checking out their ass eating ability.
Eating is a 'skill' anyone can do, I think that's why. And it's fun, so
Didn't you hear him he wanted them to be hydrated after their gauntlet of fuckery
Think of us as animals (which we are) and it may make more sense. The fittest survive because they dominate competitors and two of the main prizes of life are sustenance and reproduction. The fit part, seen from that angle, is but a means to an end. I find it fitting (I mean the damn pun) that they put that event a the end. The bounty. These ladies inspired the hell out of me.
Through this series and what it's taught me I have brought more of a hybrid approach to my training and all the happier about it. These ladies are such an inspiration
No idea how I stumbled upon this, but it's 2 hours later and I don't want it to end...
The watermelon contest was way more entertaining than the boys chowing down on the burgers.
Too funny
Best show ever ! Automatically watched !
this round was rather skewed. Either pick something they all have experience with, or none. That wasn't fair. And why not weigh the watermelons for accuracy, instead of guessing. sheesh
yup...
Cry more. Sheesh
@@momo82041 I guess no one is able to have opinions unless they are yours. Life is going to be hard for you, kid.
The last round is always for fun, doesnt have to be exact bro
Just like the cleans? cos they all had experience in that didn't they....
This was such a great series! Better than the stuff you see on ESPN!
"Elbows off the table. bro!" LMAO
Please Brute Strength next time bring in a Strongman/Strongwomen athlete, they would do very well in this contest.
They did when they had the males
@@Fenar_ I just rewatched it and no they didn't. They had a crossfit athlete, powerlifter, olympic weightlifter and a bodybuilder.
@@swollenknuck my bad, for some reason I waa convinced the power lifter was a strongman. I agree with them needing to add a member of that sport to this.
@@Fenar_ No problem, he would probably do well in strongman so I can see the mistake.
Ray Siochowicz I agree whole heartedly. You need a strong man (woman) in these types of contests. Missing one is missing a huge and interesting piece of the equation, at least for myself.
Lmao, brooke was dying during the watermelon eating while everyone else had a straight face XD
Omg omg omg been checking RUclips everyday looking for this episode!!! Thank you!!! Love these series! Strong women rock!
Mattie and Maddy both amazing. Super beautiful
The fact that they’re there regardless of the results 👏🏼 I loved this series I need moreee
Cant wait for the Next one, super fun series!
I just finished watching all of the female and Male challenges of this kind and I love them . We need more of this! Please
Maddie is an absolute stunner! All their personalities are amazing. Great bunch of strong girls
I wish they just made a show with these four ladies. They’re funny together and all have awesome personalities!
Love, love LOVE!! these ladies!!!!! Whenever I feel like I'm not doing well in my own sport seeing these women really give me the motivation to push myself harder!!
The mutual respect and support these athletes have for each other is inspirational. Not surprising, considering who they are, but GREAT that you shared it.
When is watermelon eating going to be introduced into the USAPL, IFBB, and IWF.
You do realize there are actual professional competitive eaters in the world. It's actually CRAZY watching them eat things, you won't believe the speed at which they can do it. Look up Furious Pete here on RUclips if you wanna see one.
@@grahamvandyke Yes, and those professional competitive eaters are not "athletes" because of it.
@@GilchristRyan Hey, don't blame me. I'm just saying it's an actual thing you can do, not that they're athletes. Blame the Brute guys for putting it as an event for lifters.
@@grahamvandyke lol matt stonie is the real deal
Glad they had Brooke Ence on here! She’s hands down my favorite CrossFit athlete. Killed it!
Brooke’s hair managed to stay looking glorious during the whole competition ♥️
I was rooting for Brooke to win cuz I’ve been working out in a box. And win she did. The other ladies were also not too far behind. Kudos to their will to keep getting better. Amazing 5 part series.
