I bought this new for myself around March of 2020 for $200. I absolutely love it. I have other, nicer, more expensive watches, but this one goes to work with me every day. Could not be happier with it. Great review. Thank you
You convince me to buy this kind of watch 👌
@@lnchwrd3163 that's great. I hope you enjoy it. I still love mine.
The G-Shock app does NOT use the phone's time to set the watch's time. The app provides a portal to a proprietary online Casio time server, and the time is set via that server. Not the phone's time.
Thanks for the very helpful information!
Had no clue. Good to know.
Yeah, this is kinda old, but I finally got around to getting one and I couldn't be happier. Mine was a little over $200 and has the red housing, negative display, and the black/red Combi bracelet. I put it on around 7AM and at just after 9:30PM, I'm just now getting around to taking it off for the first time today. Most of the time I had it on, I couldn't even tell it was there. With BullBar, it weighs in at 81.02g, compared to my DW5600 with BullBar that weighs in at just 56.97g. Somehow, this thing is 24g heavier but it isn't any less comfortable. I can see me getting a LOT of milage out of this one, just like my original DW5600. These two are right up there at the top of my list of favorite watches. I actually looked at this quite a few times trying to convince myself to buy it. It took a long time to talk myself into it, mainly because I wasn't sure about all that red, but it turns out that unless you knew ahead of time that it was there, you'd never know, and the only giveaway is the red lettering on the front of the bezel. It also turns out that the BullBar for the DW5600 fits this one as well. And since I have a few bezels with unpainted letters, I just might end up doing a real quick bezel swap.
EDIT:
I forgot to ask, but does Multi Band 6 actually mean anything in the US anymore? From what I can tell, this watch never gets a signal, and the only way I've been able to adjust it is by my phone's clock. I remember seeing somewhere a while back that the center in Colorado was going to be shut down, so is that the case here?
EDIT:
I'm now approximately six months or so into this watch, and as I figured, I'm 100% completely satisfied with my purchase. The Multi Band 6 works great! It doesn't pick up a signal every night, but over the last few months, it's been picking it up more and more often. I was a little over a week into August when I decided to keep track of when, or if, it picks up an adjustment. Starting on Aug 8, and checking it every morning, it only picked up a time signal eight (8) times or 42% of the time between the eighth and the 30th. September was a little lower at twelve (12) times or 40% of the time, and October was the best at 22 times, or 71% of the time.
What I've found out is that placement of the watch is essential. I keep mine on a rigid sided watch pillow, I guess is what it's called. If Im still wearing it, it won't receive the signal. I also can't have the countdown timer set. It has to show 0:00:00as well as the stopwatch. If I forget to clear the stopwatch after the last time I used it, it won't receive. It must show 0'00"00 to receive. That's what I've learned after trial and error over the last few months, and starting this month, November, I'll be able to put everything into practice and hopefully get that percentage of successful receptions higher.
Had this one over a year now. One of my favorite squares
I have it brand new for a week now with this bracelet, from the same link you proposed😊 it cost me 140 $ but I paid for quick transportation + I paid for customs and it cost me in total 200$. The watch is beautiful and the easy way to adjust the bracelet is fantastic. I have 17 cm and just fit but if you have less than 17 cm it will look big especialy with bracelet lug. The negative display is not good at all if you walk at night in a very low light exposure. If you are at home or in the office light environment then there is no problem. I recomand when you receive your watch to expose to direct sun light for at least 1 hour as it fads with low power and you might think it is broken. I actually, bought this watch not to watch the time but of how it looks on the wrist😁. It looks fantastic . I have another Radio watch (citizen Skyhawks) and the seconds are identical. So the receiver works well.
I think you got the best quality of videos of all watch channels i saw
I bought a golden version for my father's anniversary and a blue version for myself, great Watches.
nice
One point is that it has a smartphone finder option. My son needs this. A 5 second press on the bottom right button will send an alert to your iPhone/ Android and you’ll find it!
I've used the phone finder feature on this watch a number of times. Works very well!
but to use this feature, u need the ghock app already opened first (you may leave it inactive/idle). closing the ghock app will render the smartphone finder feature USELESS. it wont find it.
after watching tons of reviews and wrist shots, and comparing with other g shocks (mainly the g 100bb for the aesthetic value) it was at this video that I decided to purchase this model. thanks.
Man the production quality on this video is insane
In Australia, this model retailed at $400. They still sell for about $300, but I managed to find one on sale for $180 last year. My only quarrel with this watch is that the edges on the underside of the bezel are a bit rough. Apart from that, it's such a great watch, I wear it all the time. I'm eyeing a full metal square with resin strap for an even more luxurious feel.
Just get a metal case and bracelet and put it on the square you already have! Easy to do and cheaper than buying a whole new watch
@@masondelpino8118 I ended up getting a great deal on a blue metal GMWB5000. It's gorgeous and I wear it all the time. But if I want a lighter or hardier watch, I wear my black and gold GWB5600. I'm thinking of getting a black titanium bezel for it, though.
The most practical watch I have ever used in my life
because I am staying at home I am wearing this watch almost every day
What is the price of this watch
Yeah, me too. In isolation and wearing it every day.
@@atreyashbhatia321 I bought it from g shock store at around 190$
Thank you for discussing the lug to lug distance. I have a 17 cm wrist. I have been concerned that this bracelet will not fit my wrist very well, but it looks great on your 15 cm wrist. I guess I have nothing to worry about?
I was also very worried about this
Had the same concern, on my 6.5”(16.5 cm) wrist seats very well
Bought a new one in October 2019 for £ 83.20 on promotion. One of my favorite G-Shock
Very nicely done video. I like the photography and the commentary.
I bought the blue one today brand new for £55 from Argos. =)
Nic Lewis me, too!
Lovely watch! Thanks for the link!
I’m having the hardest time finding a replacement strap for my 10 year old G-7800B 😩
I just bought online used in very good shape for 115$... And tomorrow package should arrive! 😁
Having some trouble with this module currently. Doing the negative to positive display mod. Would love to see you disassemble and go over the components of this watch! Your videos are great
awesome, helped me a lot to pick between GW-B5600BC-1BER + composite band and GW-M5610U-1BER and the resin band. Very good point about getting resin band cheap if I want to.
Glad to help!
I prefer the resin band version, much more durable in my line of work. As a dress watch? Yeah
Appreciate the close ups at the start. Pretty cool 👍
Nice review! i have the GW-B5600HR
it was my favorite along with the Rangeman.
Love this model and your editing style! It's one of the most functional square here.
I own both blue and black display. Personally, I wish the world time screen could have an option to always show the city name since I'm confused between Home time and world time when I go abroad.
I got the gold one and it became my daily watch. I wish casio releases more colorways.
I got one of these watches in a trade and I love it. I’m surprised how much those bracelets sell for, though! But yeah, square Gs are the best.
Thank goodness for the Bluetooth because the atomic sync doesn’t seem to work... yes I am near the edge of the area covered on east coast US BUT I have a much older g-shock that syncs perfectly every single night. I really like the negative display, it just looks so cool, yes in some very specific situations it can be a bit more difficult to read, but the autobacklight looks fabulous.
Maybe because you need to switch on the RC in the settings?
Great review! What do you thing about this negative display?. And what is quality of this watch and model gbx 100 ?
The display is based on the old TN lcd which is know to most to be 'annoying'. I'm fine using it though.GBX100 uses MIP which is times better. GBX wins here
For construction as, pretty much the same. Function however, gbx also wins.
GWB, metal button, resin bezel, solar,
mb6,
GBX, resin button, metal bezel,
not solar, notifications, vibration, tide data.
hahaha! new watches but a cracked phone screen, you and me both brother!
More breakdown videos please! Especially on this model and the GST-B200!
GW-B5600BC and GA2110 are both on my list
Fantastic watch and great, detailed review.
I am only interested in display at daylight/sunlight, how does it stand?
Thanks
At day light it is great but under a shade, not so much. Still visible but not as clear especially if you have eye/visibility condition.
Nice review, nice tips and nice watch, thanks for sharing Shaz👍🍻
Hello . Does the Bluetooth of this Casio model have the ability to display mobile phone notifications, call and message notifications?
No
Since this has tough solar, i never have the need to change the battery as long as i keep in contact with sunlight? Even though it has bluetooth?
That's right. Just wear it outside a couple hours a month and you should be good
@Siebenstern i haven't owned a tough solar g shock for longer than eight years or so at this point, but from what I understand the batteries should last 10-20+ years if charged regularly. The Bluetooth function isn't a problem. They're designed to connect to the radio towers several times a night so as long as you're wearing the watch outside every now and then you shouldn't have an issue.
Is buyee still shipping to United States during coronaries corona virus shutdown?
You can buy from them, they can pack it for delivery. The shipping company is a different entity that will determine whether they can deliver or not.
At the moment, nope. I got few parcel that is out for the delivery but suspended midway. Too bad.
I have this exact watch and I LOVE it!
Thanks for the video, can you please share the buying links ? ( the one in the description is not having the watch) , thanks
Would you say that the negative Display of the GW-B5600BC-1BER is more legible than of the GW-M5610-1BER (with negative Display)?
Nice edit. Would be nice to share some info on how the solar works, does it have to be a sunny day or general day light would do, how long does a days charge last etc
It charges from any light source, it doesn't have to be sunlight
Bright direct sunlight charges the watch most effectively, but it will charge from any light source, the brighter, the better. I leave mine on a windowsill for a couple of days once a month, and the battery reads as full after the second day. During winter, I might charge it at a window for a few days due to cloud coverage.
Can you get this watch with the resin band? The bracelet isn't my taste
Time for Casio to make a G-Shock phone.
They did almost 10 years back. For JDM only though.
Ah just wanted to ask one thing - did you pay any extra duty charges other than what was mentioned during the payment process.
Hi. Is the back metal case of the gshock information were enrgaved?
I got the same model but it looks like printed only and can barely see the writings.
Does the Bluetooth allow call/text alerts as well?
Same question. Does it vibrate during notification???
Love this model but most solar powered g shock watches have a battery meter that reminds you to charge you're battery. Where is it on this watch ?
You have to connect it to the app via Bluetooth to check the battery level.
How long does the charging process from low to high?
1.5 years with me, just the best... poor of my g shock king and my gb-x6900b...
Good enough.
I have a brand new bracelet for this watch. I want to sell it, and just stick to the resin band. Does anybody know where i can put it up for sale? I live in Scandinavia.
The blue ring one is around 165 from what I can find in the US. The special edition black with some red text and red small links is about the same. All black is 104.
But the dang gold ring one is 350!!
I guess because it has a positive display?
That's the one I wanted, because of the positive display, but come one.
Now I don't know what to do
GW-B5600MG-1 with green ring, also positive display.
I think time on your phone does not matter the Bluetooth app gets its time from a dedicated website linked to atomic clock
That's interesting, I didn't know the app links directly to a dedicated site for time. I just assumed the app takes time from the phone, which gets its time from the internet.
Change the time on your phone and test it. Would be fun experiment.
I notice that the auto time sync by Bluetooth will stop working if you restart the phone ( android) , and I have to manually connect the watch again by using the bottom left button. How do I know this? by paying attention to whether the “RCVD” appears after the sync times at 00:30. 0630, 1230 and 18’;30. Do you also encounter this?
bro, do you have plans on making a full metal mod for the GW-B5600 line up? tnx
Well, if you get the blue one with a resin band for $60, then you are getting a bargain, so no issue.
Had mine for 5 months now and black out is right which can make it hard to see the time.
I just bought a blue version for ~125$ (not used)
Fair price, close to the original retails I guess.
Anyway you can do a GW-7900 breakdown?
Gonna need to buy it first. Ill get one soon.
gshock highfashion that is awesome! Thank you so much!
Awesome video editing and content
Does it have step tracker function?
Nope.
Can i set the alarm directly from the watch without using the app on the phone ?
Yes
it's sad that this model is not released in my region
Not a problem, you could always source them straight from Japan man, they'll deliver worldwide
bit.ly/buyee-gshockhighfashion
Hello . How long does it have to be in the sun to be fully charged?
2-3 hours, still depends on how bright the sun is.
Too bright = too hot = less efficient charge
Your voice is pure ASMR.
In Poland model GMW-B5000-1 is for $380. This is for 250$. Which will you choose?
Save up and be patience to get GMWB5000. Another one in gloss red will be out soon as well. Maybe wait and see how that goes.
@@gshockhighfashion I will wait, gloss red will out soon maybe this is the reason why blue and silver version going down....
Don't pay that much for that watch lol. 380 for this one is robbery
This may be a dumb question do they make this watch with the normal face ? My eyes are not the best.....and I think I would have difficulty reading it.....the regular face I can read fine.....
you can get the gold version, with a beautiful positive golden lcd, much easier to read... 😉
@@lessismore8 no....I want a simple black version with all these features ......but with the normal face.....I guess I will wait for it to come out......as of now, I have no shortage of watches.....thanks for the suggestion though......
@@adrianotero7963 I agree with you. I wish they would make the same models but with positive display. I like the simple black versions too
How wide is your wrist ?
In the U.K. this Bracelet is about 65 Euros.
How do you check the battery level on this watch ?
Must be done within the app. There are 7 battery levels.
Can anyone please tell me if it has a vibrating alarm? Thank you in advance
No it doesn't
Looking at your phone is seems smart to have a G-shock
whats the model on 0.32 mark?
that the GA-2100
i wonder where can i source the back plate of this model, cos mine scratched badly
Try to polish them out first.
@@gshockhighfashion ya thought of that but there is a chipped out dot..not sure how it got there, too deep to be polished off :(
Would it be possible to change the screen to a positive display?
Yes
@@probablywatches would be interested to know how?!?! Please and thank you!
@cussytootussy Take the module from a 5600 with positive display and put it into this one. Or put in a new polarised filter, but that would be more difficult because you could break the screen.
@@probablywatches Thanks for the reply. So as a newbie to this. Would changing the module only change the display or would it change all available functions?! ie. There wouldn’t be Bluetooth capabilities, etc. Does that question make sense? Thanks so much for your time. ✌🏼
@@cussytootussy it wouldn't change anything if you use a module that has the same functions.
Does it vibrate during notification???
It didn't have that feature. I would recommend for you to get the GBX-100 for that.
@@gshockhighfashion
Or GBD-200 .
What watch is He showing in the beginning
GA 2100
Nice watch
There is a few good negative displays from Casio. This is not one of them.
selalu hadir,im from indonesia 👍👍👍
Shame your phone isn't as tough as a Gshock.
Do you get incoming calls
No
Good looking indeed
I want to get one but I can’t find it nowhere can someone plz help
Try amazon.
What's the other watch at 0:30?
ruclips.net/video/HQhgh1OrkcI/видео.html
This one.
Nice 👍
Why popular on G-Shock black on black is a question? Most of the G-shock can't even read properly.. 'they' someone try wear look alike iwatch?? .. which is look dark/black all the the time... Not for watch time it is for dark black pieces.. just like iwatch
Black is easier to wear for most skin tones and most occasions.
Negative display are just there for better appearance. It is not as good yet. But Casio just developed new display which should be introduced this year and that will fix this issue entirely. For future models though.
6.30 shows why g shock concept is better than slim design. next time better buy outdoor phone 😁
Or get a decent phone cover.
That cracked screen on your smart phone is triggering.
No idea what u talking about bro, the watch looks good on your wrist, granted it would look better on individuals with middle wrists
Fair enough!
Just bought this for amazon for $300 CAD (total) Cant wait for it to arrive.
Awesome!
Cries in 14cm wrist
👍
I still didn't have it
Keep trying man.
bro do you think you can get this parts i mean, the bezel and srtap after 10 years owning this watch, bro if we wont get then i will be a issue
For square G-Shock, it's usually easier than any G-Shocks.
Is this watch Japanese
not entirely
