Visually I have no preference but the bigger buttons and screw down back plate make the metal my favorite. The other one is a great option also though, no doubt
Ya I agree I noticed that too on my GMW. However, i dunno if that reasoning alone is enough for the $350 extra lol. It's all on personal preference at the end of the day.
I guess the negative display on the GMW was designed and manifactured as a negative where as the standard has just a reversed standard positive display.
Other differences, not mentioned on the video: GMW-B500D(SS): Made in Japan (2:30); Yamagata); STN display (much better; 3:51), larger buttons GW-B5600 (Plastic): Made in China (2:41), TN display, smaller buttons I have both.. GW-B5600 is a good beater watch. GMW-B5000D is not a beater. Is it worth the difference?: every penny
I went with the cheaper model as I will be wearing it for physical jobs and workouts and so will suit my needs better. If I knock or scratch the cheaper one, it won’t sting as much as if I spend more on the other one!
I have a GMWB5000 (silver) and a GWB5600 (Kobe Fire Bureau.) As evidenced in your video, the "beeping" comes out much louder in the resin watch, than it does from the metal watch. Just something else for potential buyers to consider. (Nice video, btw!)
I just picked up the 5600 with the small red highlights at an airport duty free store for $155. I never even heard of this bluetooth model till I went to that booth. Was looking for the carbon core guard but it was sold out everywhere except for the all red one. I think I like the combi bracelet more than the normal resins.
funny people saying g shock made in japan is much better... there is no mid range made in japan g shock. only the MRG models.. all are made in china and stamped made in Japan for Japan domestic market. look at the early GMWb5000. it says made in japan right? it has a misalligned module.
I have a really important question: can you swap modules between these 2 watches? Module and solar panels or at least the module. I'm interested in modding. Can you try it out? Thanks!
'BUDGET'? Neither of these are 'budget' watches. I have the GW-B5600-2ER and i am extremely happy with it, i only paid £87 for it (a special discount at time). The increase in price just for having the resin link band is crazy, nice but not worth it as a 316L stainless steel bezel and strap is available for around £60 and its identical to the original Casio all Stainless steel model in appearance and quality.
£87? For £99 You can have this: www.watches2u.com/watches/casio/gw-b5600bc-1er-mens-g-shock-smartwatch.html Positive display and combi bracelet. Much better value imho
@@gubro That's a good deal, but the gold colour is hideous, and i prefer negative displays. There's no way I'd buy that, even if it is a pretty good price.
@@DanRC69 You know opinions are like farts. We all have them, but nobody is interested in others'. For me a negative display would be out of the question.
I had the b5000 and ended up selling it...it was too shiny. The resin watch is way more stealthy, lighter and pretty much ding-proof. Display is not as good though.
You forgot to mention another important difference between the two watches. One (GMWB5000) is produced in Japan, and the other (GWB5600) is produced in China. I think that at least for some of the buyers this aspect is an important one
Don’t buy any model with negative displays, they’re not worth it, they very bad legibility and what you want is to clearly see your time in any angle at any time of the day
Which of the two models do your prefer? Why?
Gi-Shock-Go the one for $200
Visually I have no preference but the bigger buttons and screw down back plate make the metal my favorite. The other one is a great option also though, no doubt
Have both for while. Love that STN display and bigger buttons on metal one. But GW is much more comfortable. Hard to say which one is better..
I'd go with the resin cased version.
I'd ONLY choose the stainless steel version if it was the silver polished version.
The metal for the STN display. Come on Casio! Please put STN in all of your higher priced watches!
There is a great difference between the LCDs in this watches. The GMWB5000 has much better contrast and the visabilitty is better...
Ya I agree I noticed that too on my GMW. However, i dunno if that reasoning alone is enough for the $350 extra lol. It's all on personal preference at the end of the day.
But the quality of the negative display is more clearer on the $500 GMW than the Standard.
I guess the negative display on the GMW was designed and manifactured as a negative where as the standard has just a reversed standard positive display.
yep, but the regular positive display on the cheaper gshocks are still better than the stn display on the $500 dollar metal gshocks
The display on the more expensive one is clearly more legible.
Other differences, not mentioned on the video:
GMW-B500D(SS): Made in Japan (2:30); Yamagata); STN display (much better; 3:51), larger buttons

Thanks for that.
I just did a full brakedown vid of the GWB by the way. In case u want to check out all the features.
I went with the cheaper model as I will be wearing it for physical jobs and workouts and so will suit my needs better. If I knock or scratch the cheaper one, it won’t sting as much as if I spend more on the other one!
EarlyProphet Either choice is great... better to go with the one that suits your needs. Enjoy
Nice review I already have a Multi band 6 GW7900 I’m going to wait and get the 40th anniversary DW5000 or DW6900 before 2023 when I’m 45 years old

thumperjdm hmmmm never thought about that. Gonna test that right now! Lol.... Thanks for watching and commenting

Doesn't the one on the left have an STN display and better legibility than the one on the right?
If you are not a g shock collection go for 5600
But if you are g shock lover you should buy both two watches
NO JOKE. I was looking for a good B5600 video last night. Thanks a bunch!! :)
Billy Bob oh great right on TIME! Which one of the two do you prefer?
The other question to consider is positive vs negative display...
Isn't it insane that you can now do the "budget bluetooth watch comparison" where the $600 gwmb5000 IS the actual budget and $4k MRG is the premium 🤯
i would prefer the full metal, i have the silver one and they're too cool! i would have all the metals if i could.
Billy Bob interesting.... They truly are great watches and the weight of the metal feels more luxurious
Agreed, not lay because of the screw down back
Andl ony left watch has STN display.
Great recommendation and it looks more understated. Really stealth G-Shock. Thanks for the video
Miguel Toro no, thank you for watching!
There’s no comparison; I had both. Got rid of the 5600, too light and hard to read...the 5000 is worth the extra money.
Agree 100%. Got the Japan version of the gmw-b5000 in positive display and black with metal band...as well as the stainless gmw-b5000 😎🤘🏻🇨🇦
To light? That the point to them!
Nice video 👍 is there a difference in case size ?
I was able to get the GW-B5600HR-1 (red and black) for about $140. Dunno if it;'s still available anywhere at that price still
bought mine for 120€ on ebay. also put on a combi (metal/resin) bracelet, look nicer with it.
The 1 on the left is ScrewBack.
The 2ND is different.

Both displays are obviously different too.
Also the display, have two 5000, half metal and full metal and *the display* is amazing.
Where did the you get the half metal? That’s what I’m looking for. Want a negative display and metal face but bracelet ad resin.
Thanks!!
Would you say that the negative Display of the GMWB5000 is more legible than of the GWB5600 (with negative Display)?
It's not the same functionality, the GWB5600 doesn't have multiband-6 atomic clock radio sync.
They're Both Great👍🏻.
Good comparison Congratulations
Display is better, also buttons are bigger and easier to press on the 5000.
the 5000 is clearly more readable, it looks like it has more contrast
Are the displays the same size? I am going to try using a screen protector made for the GMWB5000 on the B5600 do you think it will work?
Weight of the right watches please? My b5000 heavy and it is very good
Does B500 have sapphire crystal ?
I have a really important question: can you swap modules between these 2 watches? Module and solar panels or at least the module. I'm interested in modding. Can you try it out? Thanks!
Get both.
I need same swuare gshock in bigger size any suggestion pls not the big square BB version other than that any model to look for :)

The displays are different. The metal one has the newer display.
Yes, the 5600 is really hard to read.
the biggest diference is the display
The negative lcd is better on the GMW
How come I never subbed until now?
Is the difference the shinny materials? Not functionally ?
ZEROKOOL-20 .... design and materials used yes.
Made in Japan of metal vs. Made in China with plastic. Both serve their purpose and price points.
I had the b5000 and ended up selling it...it was too shiny. The resin watch is way more stealthy, lighter and pretty much ding-proof. Display is not as good though.
Why these watches not available all over the world ...i select good watches ....and then come to know that they arent available in my country India
I just got my hands on brand new GW-B5600BC-1BER for £52 😆
That’s a damn steal!!!! Congrats
Resin! Don't like metal on G-Shock's

...👍
It seems to me that 5600 has darrker digits than 5000 in this video. Havn't seen them at real though...
You're correct. The 5000 uses a super-twisted nematic (STN) LCD display, for clearer rendering.
Made in Japan vs in China
Omg.. in Viet Nam its has cost 5000 usd 😂
You can see the screen glass are not the same....
