- According to SAICT, they'll be issuing show-cause orders against those riders who failed to stop, or ran from enforcers - based on the recorded license plate numbers.
Including one rider that allegedly left the lay-by before being ticketed.

The Move It driver should be banned from driving. In many counties running from the Police is a year ban. The problem in the Philippines is that they are so behind on the official plates that it is a nightmare for enforcement. Remember driving is a privilege and not a right.
Thankfully they do know the plate number. So they should be able to take action through the show-cause order.
I hope they'll start sharing the results of all these show-cause orders, so people know the consequence of running from enforcers.

I left working in Manila years ago but when I do go on EDSA, it's natural instinct to ride down the normal lanes for private vehicles, I kind of expect it to be slow moving and I admire this Edsa bus way/carousel project. I admire and love it for commuters as I was once also a commuter. Love your vids but I do miss clearing operations videos :)

Kase Mkakapal na apog ng mga violators at masyado na namihasa. Tama, masayodong mababa penalties dito sa atin, kaya di itnataaa laging hirit ng mga against anti-poor daw pag mataas penalties, di ba anti violation/crime ang mataas na penalty, pag mataas penalty mag dadalawang isip gawin. Problema din sa atin talaga disiplina, dito kasi sa Pinas pag walang nakatingin feeling ng iba pwede ng gawin ang bawal, utak tanga lang eh.

One of my major complaints about using public transportation was access. This was when I first moved here. Since then, it's easier to have a car, but trying to go up and down those steps can be too challenging. Glad to see they're (elevators) being implemented and let's hope they stay in good working order. Let's just be clear regarding vehicles whether cars or scooters. No valid license plate, no access to the street. Why they are not confiscated on the spot is beyond me. Philippines is too soft. There is NEVER a reason to be out on the road without proper plates.

the problem i see in this video is the 1st rider using the buslane is the one getting caught but the 2 riders after the 1st one was not apprehended.

This running away thing, that's been done so many times, by now they should have a means to stop that.
The problem with showing those escaping apprehension is that it gives others the idea. especially if no one is actually seeing them in LTO office getting their fines and penalties.
Can you vlog also about the riders who ran away from enforcers that has been given a show cause order? Since many who ran away and nobody knows if the MMDA or LTO really pursue the ran away riders. If nothing has been punished, better who violates Bus Lane should ran from enforcer.
You avoid getting a ticket and you run they should be arrested and jailed when caught.

Do they know where to send the show cause order when it's issued? Or is it just issued and they hope its outstanding when they catch them again, as it seems from other videos that there are many repeat violators.
Even confiscating the licence does little because the then drive without a licence without any fear of being arrested and jailed.

When those elevators become operational, I hope it will be reserved for seniors (single escort included), PWD (mobility disabilities) and pregnant women (with or without children).

I find it very strange that those riders that abuse the BUS LANE also wear clothes that make them stand out from others. In this short video you can see hundreds of riders not going into the bus lane
Question: Is there’s some kind of signage at the beginning/entrance of this Bus Lane? I don’t live there, but in Central Visayas.
Totally no discipline those riders and law should be changed for them to be of equal to 4 wheel vehicles! They think as if they own the roads!
Is there a law that prohibits the showing of plate numbers? I don't think DPA still covers this.

Typically, if the enforcers are able to get the plate, it will be submitted for show-cause order.
I've been suggesting to SAICT that they should start sharing the results of the show-cause orders, so that people know the consequence of failing to stop, or running away.
they will just rack up violations until the day they need to renew their license. or just discover it on their lto account online.

i think to be able apprehend those violators they need a cctv additional supporting evidence or a watch tower of some sort to see clearly the violators and also issue to warning or penalties to mc taxi companies for their riders who continue to violet the bus lane rule.
They should place 2 personnel on that high spot to monitor

It's a game of cat and mouse. What will happen is that riders will remove their plates or put in permanent "temporary plates". Then against the "show cause" order, people will just not renew the registration of their motorcycles anymore, as not a small minority of motorcycle owners have been doing for a long time.

The problem with motorcycles are most of the time the one who receives the show cause order are the original owners which they don't owned the motorcycles anymore

I think the runners would have a change of mind if frustrated homicide charges are added to the show cause for deliberately putting the officers in harm's way.

If you run away nearly running over an enforcer, you will be charged attempted vehicular manslaughter. 10 years in prison.
I think they are to soft on violators in general. In most parts of the world if you are pulled over for a traffic violation and fight, try to evade, or even run over the officer to get away. You get arrested and charged with evading, resisting and the violation. If you have a vehicle and make it look like a police or other government vehicle you are also changed with impersonation fraud. The officers should literally kick over the motorcycles who are resisting, evading and almost running them over. Then when they are caught their vehicle should be IMPOUNDED, fined and suspension temp of driving privilege's for one month. Let them take THE BUS for a few weeks so they can appreciate the privilege's of driving again .
@gadget addict or anyone, may nangyayari ba talaga sa mga showcause order na yan? dapat yung mga news agency (GMA/ABS ETC) may mga news program na nag ffollowup sa mga balita na usually nakaka limutan na lang, katulad nung mga ganito na tumatakas sa checkpoint/Saict, at yung driver na babae na nag name drop pa ng pangalan ng kung sinong general daw bago tumakas. Give the enforcers tools to hook a driver to prevent them from running away. They're putting these enforcers' lives in danger without providing them the proper tools.
Lagyan nyo spike strips dun sa area kung san tumatakas bago mag barrier. Ilagay nyo pa vertical, nasa gitna ng double line. Kahit walang bantay dun ok lng, try nila tumakas😊
Runners should be jailed or pay a fine of 100k , have their licensed revoked permanently and publicly shamed thru media, one or all of these will teach them a good lesson.

It seems front plates are required to identify motorcycles, not just here but anywhere else as its mostly used for riding in tandem and other snatching as well.
If you don't have the money to pay for the penalties, don't dare to swerve on the bus lane.

Edsa Carousel is neither pwd nor elderly friendly. High staircase and not connected to Mrt or Lrt.
Those elevators will surely be unavailable within this year. A lot of people will take interest messing that up 100% if left unattended

If they don't take part in the show-cause hearing, LTO can make a decision based on whatever evidence / report they have.
They can apply penalties that need to be paid, especially if someone tries to renew the license or registration.
They can put an alarm on the license or registration.
They can suspend or even revoke the drivers license.
They obviously also have the option to coordinate with PNP, if that's appropriate.
Or if they believe the driver did nothing wrong, they could obviously dismiss it.
First offense 1,000 pesos, 2nd offense 5,000 pesos, 3rd offense 10,000 pesos, 4th offense 20,000 pesos, 5th offense 50,000 pesos and so on... Driving without a license, having a 1st offense of 30 days in jail, and a 2nd offense for driving without a license, the vehicle is forfeited to the government jurisdiction - no vehicle to drive, no way to re-offend. Driving on public roadways is a privilege, not a right!

Triplehan niyo na ang penalty at dapat hanggang 2 offense lang, license revocation na agad at pag community service niyo, isama niyo sa panghuhuli.
They always show the edsa traffic but traffic in other places they don't show them eventhoug they are all connected because there are many vehicles that shouldn't be on the road like ebikes, Trucks in day time, and others
Show cause and payment of penalty is too lenient for those who escaped. A penalty similar to resisting arrest para madala.
If the MMDA can make the"Bus Lane Law," then it's high time they make a law for MCs to sport two plates, front and rear for easy identification as they are in charge of traffic management. Strictly enforce it and the " No Plate No Travel" policy as well. EVEN ONLY ALONG EDSA as so not to affect riders using other roads.....Just a suggestion.....
They cant. LTO is having problem to deliver one plate to motorcycle what more if it is two plate. They cant even provide decent licences.

@@eg8343 Yes, I understand that as it had taken me over 5yrs. to get the replacement plates for my car. Maybe MMDA can find a solution like allowing MC owners provide their own specified self-made plates to be attached at the front since they are already sporting plates issued by the LTO for the back. Another suggestion would be making it mandatory for riders to wear reflective vests displaying their plate no. front and back. ONLY ALONG EDSA. If MMDA can't come up with a solution, these violations by kamote riders will never end........
It is easy to stop runners; when they are caught, the vehicle becomes the property of the government - "asset forfeiture" is a powerful tool. The word will get around quickly - no more runners and lots of revenue for the city to pay for the cost of enforcement.

Can you give us an example on what happening if they run. Please give us sample how show cause order works. Or you guys just saying their plate number will be sent to LTO but in reality nothing happens if they run.

How stupid can these people be? Goodness gracious. They need to increase penalty. Maybe 10k for 1st offense, 20k for 2nd, the 30k and 30 days jail time for the next. Those who dont stop and run away, cancel their license the add a 1 year jail time.
