Running from the law - EDSA Busway

  • There’s no easy day on EDSA, unless you give up.
Watch as the MMDA continue their efforts to bring discipline to EDSA.
Many people have said that it’s time for LTO to start suspending and revoking licenses.
Although without impounding, it’s quite possible that some people would continue to drive, even with a suspended or revoked license - as we’ve seen in the past.
The MMDA have a clear image of the driver, passenger and the plate number of the rider that failed to stop.

Big difference between traffic violations than evading law authority and endangering the lives of law officers in front of these fast running motorcycles. They must get arrested instantly, with jail time and impound their vehicles. Enforced the law to the fullest consistently with no mercy. So people that supports the traffic law or any other laws, will not get frustrated and be disappointed to the officers enforcing the law. Polite, strict and firm officers are always commended and respected.

That's the problem, there's often someone whispering in the ear, saying it's not your fault, it's the fault of the enforcer, or it's the fault of the law.
So some people really have this mindset that no matter how bad they act on the road, it's not their fault.

MMDA should educate their personnels about Philippine Laws. That's a violation of Reckless Driving and Disobedience of Person in Authority. That's a criminal charge.
Well, even their chief don't know what to do, what to expect from their rank and files

If those riders or drivers attempt to run-over an apprehending officer, the officers have the right and reason to push them as self defense. In the US, you are in big trouble and can be shot, if you to do such severe violation. That is why the motorists are more diciplined. Here, "PASENSIYA na kayo" they think is an acceptable excuse with a scratch at the head when gets caught ... hayyy

LTO should deputize mmda so they can confiscate the license upon apprehension. This will make sure they will pay the penalty. With the current 10 year validity of license i'm sure they will ignore the ticket. So confiscate the kicense is the best course.

MMDA violation Penalty: strictly 25000 pesos in total
You should tell the EDSA or MMDA to give the traffic violators, enforcers or like you know from their cars and motorbikes who are running from the law or going pass through the bus lanes should strictly get a sanction or put them to jail and also the vehicles for impound and send them for scrap if they dont pay a ticket something

  • @peterpater9845

These bus lanes are a waste of VERY LIMITED space in the city. There are MORE hours in a day when few people are actually using the buses but these road-users-tax-paying cars are stuck in heavy traffic along EDSA almost all day because they are not allowed to use the open and free lanes called the "Busway". These "exclusive" lanes worked during the pandemic because there were a LOT LESS cars on the road then. But now that things have gone back to normal these bus lanes have created heavier than normal traffic along EDSA that the MMDA is now thinking of scrapping the Number Coding window hours permanently. If the MMDA wants to know what is causing the heavy traffic along EDSA, IT IS THE BUSWAY.

  • @LAProductionss
    @LAProductionss 10 месяцев назад +1

I think they need to plan efficiently how to connect bus lanes and unloading places because there are parts that the bus stop is on the other side of edsa so some of the buses needs to eat half of the road to get to the other side

Increasing the penalty is anti-poor? If they are poor, they won't have these vehicles that they are driving to begin with and they should be utilizing public transportations. They are just hard-headed A$$HOLES who think they can get away with their traffic violations. I'm one of those people who have been suggesting to increase the penalties of these violators and double the fines after the first offense and revoke their license if they continue to violate the laws. I'm glad that they finally did something about these penalties. KUDOS TO THE MMDA AND THE ENFORCERS!!!

This is the California vehicle code "Vehicle Code 2800.1 for evading an officer is a misdemeanor. As such, it carries a maximum penalty of not more than one (1) year in the county jail and a fine of up to $1,000 dollars, a lesser penalty than the more serious § 2800.2 Felony Reckless Evading which can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony." The penalty for a felony is maximum 3 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. They should implement something like this overthere. Tignan natin kung tatakbo pa sila.

Php 5,000 still ain't enough as a deterent. Make it 20% FMV of the vehicle as a fine for 1st offense, 45% 2nd offense and 70% 3rd offense. Let's see who is the boss. For example a luxury car FMV is 10M, 20% = 2M fines. And let there be a road spikes and authorize use of force if they intent to evade aprehension.

Simple ticket violation nagiging court summoning for crimal charges.

Bilib ako dito kay Gadget Addict. Lahat may punto. Trust me, i think sa pinas lang ang may ganitong mindset. If the rider runs away sa mga enforcers "dapat tinulak", "dapat tusukin ng stick sa mags" but when they did that "kawawa ang rider", "grabe mga enforcers", "walang awa" from the netizens. Meaning... Walang magandang solutions, if meron... May hindi sasangayon. Edi saan tayo lulugar nyan if they made a good decision eh ayaw ng iba..
