The impact of local Governance on traffic flow

- The MMDA keep removing the illegal sidewalk car washes around the busy port area, but somehow they keep getting reinstalled, right under the nose of the Barangay.
The operators of the car washes even took steps to make it harder for the MMDA to remove them, by mounting the lights higher and cementing the coin-operated machine into the wall.
Aside from the traffic caused by illegally parked vehicles visiting these car washes, there's a lack of proper drainage, which can damage the road and lead to pollution problems.
I guess this highlights why we’ve seen news articles about the DILG potentially taking a renewed focus on the clearing operations and talking about holding local units liable for failing to maintain the clearing efforts of the MMDA.
I said it before and i'll say it again... INCOMPITENT Barangay officials should be apprehended as well.
there should be a official of PNP, LTO and DILG to come along with the MMDA operation once in a while and punish on the spot those police and barangay chairmans/councilors/SK councilors who think that they are exempted from any traffic laws. bring along a reporter and interview those violators complete with their names and position without the blurred faces
If the government can't police its people... Then people should police themselves....
Just look at how the Japanese respect their country, their environment and others around them.
Philippines pass themselves off as good Catholics, but live a live full of hypocrisy.
I also agree, but maybe they considered it would be faster to operate ahead of them then coordinate later if needed...
if may dilg jan xempre magiiba attitude nila.. mas kailangan follow up na magssampa ng reklamo
MMDA should definitely consider not giving the confiscated car wash equipment back. That cemented coin slot pissed me off because it's like they were taunting the law thinking they're above it and were able to get one above it. They're just inviting people to congest that area further. That coin slot should have been destroyed with a sledgehammer if they were just going to cement it down
I was thinking the same thing. A sledgehammer would render that coin machine unusable.
Barangay is where small politics and corruption starts. Shame!
thank GOD, MMDA made an operation in this area!!!!
Good job Bong and MMDA team! 👍👍👍👍👍
please operate in this location twice a week
Thanks for this vlog, it makes us aware of the local laws here in Philippines, it's in clear english accent, keep us updated bro. Again many thanks 🤩🇵🇭🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
thank you for what you do!
I enjoy watching a long vid thanks for the update in manila roads.
good job keep safe sa team niyo !keep it up !!! marami talagang matitigas ang ulo ehh,,
Salamat Po Sa Pag Upload !!!
Tnx for your latest post sir i enjoy it
Watching this reminds me of the movies Dumber and Dumber and Dumberer...... A large population of the Philippines can play the part.
firearms should be hidden if you are not in uniform. some police officers don't want to be recognized when not in uniform for safety purposes and some wants bcoz... "mayabang".
SULIT NA SULIT YUNG ABUSE OF AUTHORITY! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Very educational 👍
If he is a police officer,he must know the law and should be a good example to his fellow human being.Whats the local officials doing in that area wherein theres an illegal activities being done? Are they blind and mute?
I'm sure he's aware of the law. Maybe he got used to the fact that helmets and license plates aren't so common inside Manila City.
Brgay Chairman occupying Sidewalks protected by kampi-kampi timawa system of lgu
Another 16-minute video offering from Gadget Addict! He now has time, folks. Yay! More power to your channel, GA! If you need someone to hold your video, please let me know. 😁
I dont know why is difficult to wear the helmet. They should attend the TDC for 3 times
Probably he didn't attend Theoretical Driving Course nor Practical Driving Course, they trust in their fixers
Laziness
They think they're cool 🤣 normal rider in manila 🤣
They do so because of lack of consequence. Philippine culture doesn't like conflict. Sorry na lang is okay for these pasaways.
mukha daw kasi astig pag walang helmet tulad ni tom cruise sa top gun maverick
Love how he straight up calls these guys mushroom heads right in front of them
Salute always to MMDA
It's pathetic when someone introduce themselves as a son or a family of any government official so they can get away with a violation.
The reality is, depending on the LGU, that can really work with some local enforcers 🤷
The mmda should be allowed to file a case vs the barangay official for negligence and/or possible corruption
good job !!
oof squammy anak ng chairman haha, shame
police officer always breaks the law.
Police officer,so what?
Son of Brgy Chairman,so what?
sila dapat itong unang nakakaalam ng batas di ba? bakit ang hirap nila paunawain
kasi my kapit sila ganun kasi mindset nila akala nila UNTOUCHABLE sila.
all time but not every day. gadget addict please video mmda clearing malabon from malabon city square to dalagang bukid pure of trailer truck on the side always parking like its their own :-) looking forward
Hope they also do a surprise visit at Barangay 137 Zone 15 Pasay.
doble punishment 4 all govt official and their relatives to avoid abuse of power.Good Law f ever
Good job good job good job
Elligal possetion of firearm.... Police or not...dapat nkauniform..
MMDA will need a segment with all the News media every morning.
MMDA should update on Traffic, Safety and Awareness focusing more on the Laws of the road.
They do have frequent coverage by local media. But it's not really that people don't know the rules of the road.. most people know.
They just got used to many of the rules not being enforced.
0:17 Who needs side mirrors when you have a rosary? 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
The 1st man apprehended was a Police officer but instead of implementing the law he's the one who violated it! not a good example!!
Good job
I notice that system of debt of gratitude or kamag anak why this was existing .
You said it best when you said: "No matter how good of a rider you are, you cannot control other people on the road."
This is what the majority fail to understand. They have this mentality that because they're good drivers/riders (at least they think they are), that they can avoid accidents. It's called an accident for a reason. lmao
I just don't know how to drum that message into enough people, before they learn the hard way.
If they're really THAT good, they even won't think in that manner.
if someone brings up their family in government positions we should charge them double
Idol. Pascua Makati and M. Roxas Manila. Both side parking. Those road are connected to each other and it's a busy for motorist from Makati going to Manila, Manda and San Juan and vise versa. Hope there can be an operation in this area. Thanks
The MMDA should pour something in the lock of the car wash coin machine that was cemented into the wall. If you can’t remove it then disable it 🤷🏻♂️
0:37 according to the enforcers, he's a police officer.
If you are a police officer.
Why are you driving a motorcycle without a licensed plate and no side mirrors.
Nice job police officer.
Why they do not confiscate the bendomachine just give them the money inside And confiscate the machine
no one is above law so we should obey our laws regardless who you are. even the president of the land should follow the law or son of bgy. chairman.
i like your vlog now. getting longer 😍😍😍 before 6-7 mins only. keep it up
Many people have asked for longer videos, but statistics show that people only watch them for 4-6 minutes.
So I sometimes wonder 🤷
Thank you for all the great Vidos. One Question. Why isn't the business charged a fine for the illegal structures and being part of the problem taking away the sidewalk ?? I get the illegal parking but the traffic problem caused by blocking the sidewalk shouldn't everyone pay for violating the law. Seams no one has to pay the price for their actions. Shouldn't the police issue tickets and fines ?? Nothings going to change in this society of little kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traffic enforcers don't have any authority or even any ability to penalize a business.
But the MMDA do have HPSEPO staff, which are typically deputized to enforce City ordinances. They can usually issue a ticket to business owners that have obstructed the sidewalk, left it dirty or unsanitary and things like that.
But HPSEPO don't really have that much manpower. Maybe they should have more, but the Barangays already have the authority to enforce those ordinances 🤷♂️
I remember joining a joint operation between MMDA HPSEPO and a Barangay.
What I observed is that the Barangay don't want to ticket someone who is too poor, because they feel bad for them. They don't want to issue a ticket to someone too rich, because they're scared of them. So only those in the middle are getting hit.
as if dropping a barangay chairmans name will get him off..
Maybe with LGU enforcers 🤷
Gaano kapasaway ang Pinoy?
Alam na nilang bawal gagawin pa rin.
But it gets worst.
Nahuli na nga, uulitin pa rin.
smh
Despite of all the efforts of MMDA, these behavior will just keep coming back. No wonder we can never be a developed nation.
Yey!a 16 minute video..
@4:00 I think, also in BGC. And the city is very strict. Even those skateboarders must also wear a head gear, and can't just skate around BGC (for safety purposes). Was wondering why won't the rest of the cities in NCR impose this ordinance.
I guess that's probably a policy rather than an ordinance or law, since it's privately owned. If people don't want to comply, I guess they could trespass them.
You're a bonafide Filipino by now, dude. :)
Kaya daw walang side mirror ginagaya nila ung mga bike 😂😂😂 mukhang astig daw ung bike namin e.... Kaya tanggalan na lang ng side mirror 😂😂😂
There's too many government officials that profit from the poor, not just in the Philippines, but all over the world!
This problem is incurable. Barangay officials should b the one being penalize for allowing this to continue. Its their place of jurisdiction. MMDA cant monitor them everyday given how big MM is.
I still can't get over the fact that most of these "licenseless" drivers could have avoided being spotted if they didn't flagrantly commit traffic violations. I even have a friend who had admitted to me that he had been driving for 6 years without bringing his license (he is licensed) and that as long as you don't do anything that would make you a target, then there is really no way of knowing if you have a license or not.
You'd think they'd make their best effort to obey the rules of the road, so no enforcer would ever stop them. But apparently some just don't care 🤷
do you personally edit these videos?
i wonder what the city government is doing to that area it's always been that way for a long long time.
And still the big C!
Are PNP officers allowed to show their firearms when not in police uniform?
Bawal yan dapat nakatago
Bawal. In uniform dapat tapos holstered.
I wanna be one of the cool kids.
Usually they'd add reckless driving and apprehended after a long chase. If the person who ran away can actually be caught.
Question do i need licence when riding electric bicycle
What kind of a policeman is he? He's not fit to be one if you ask me. He should be a role model to his fellow citizen.
Oh well, license plate again... The motorists are the one suffering for the LTO's INCOMEPETENCE.
Why not enter the Baseco port area manila, there, the barangay is not doing anything, 4 yrs there were stalled park motorcycle parallel to the road. and in the front a bike shop. so sometimes its not passable by a sedan.
Longer videos please
Sayang po energy at oras nyo mga traffic enforcers, kung may malinaw na violations - no helmet, not wearing shoes, no motor vehicle registration, no drivers license, etc.
GA have been blogging for years and most of the time it shows alot of the no helmet or bicycle helmet, still alot of riders keeps doing it and have the guts to pass infront of infocers, thats not lack of knowledge of traffic rules, it show the lack of respect to the inforcers and the law.
No plates no mirrors, dapat impound yan. How can you drive with out those. That guy could be the one caught on camera in makati pointing gun on another rider.
If the Driver of a Motorcycle without License, Original Receipt,Car Registration and no Plate number maybe they are Drug courier.
Pilipino are hard headed they don’t like to follow the rules
The problem in Manila is, where to park. It's a nightmare and the crocodiles can top up their salary.
When will all these stubborn motorcyclists learn to obey simple traffic laws and regulations. Maybe imposing stiffer fines will bring them into their senses.
So true about the wrong helmets being worn. They often teach motorcyclists that no matter how good you are, you're only as safe as the worst driver on the road, which in the chaos of Manila is a pretty low level.
I just don't know how you can really get people to listen. Maybe if they are constantly seeing people apprehended for it, they might finally wear the right helmet.
But I think 90% of the time it's only MMDA apprehending that 🤷
Just another day!
that the problem in the Philippines,. when they flagged down riders they always say they "work in the city hall" or i am a govt employee,., ive been threaten with tihis kind of people,.,
Pls clear UN avenue of illegally parked cars, everyday traffic coz.of cars.parked both side
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
ombudsman, trabaho trabaho din! less than 5 mins lang mag send ng letter of warning sa mga pasaway na brgy captains
Good job, though at the start of the video, you may have mistakenly said “R-10 Dapitan” instead of “R-10 Del Pan.”
Cops or whatever have no weapons discipline in the Philippines. Have to change policies for Law Enforcement and military. That is what the government has to tackle next. Cops should be disciplined severely and reprimanded severely, especially the senior cops. Really start hammering motorcycle riders, even the taxi drivers are complaining cuz the motorcycles have no discipline on the roads.
Idk why people use their credentials (or like in this case, their father's) as a way to avoid the law.
I find it *BEST* that using ur credentials work better when you are *ASSERTING* the law.
Hello GA. May I request that you say this to the MMDA higher ups:
_"Dear MMDA, please arrange a meeting among motorcycle groups, LTO, _*_AND_*_ helmet manufacturers. Those so-called proper helmets with ICC certifications etc are _*_NOT ANYMORE_*_ applicable. Nowadays, even if riders and passengers wear those helmets required by law, most of them still die. Maybe it's time to build a much much thicker helmet with super anti-shock technology that will mitigate deaths? And maybe our lawmakers should now also require _*_ALL_*_ riders and passengers to wear anti-death suits or high tech armor that _*_should be affordable_*_ even to those who can't afford. IT'S A CRAZY WORLD OUT THERE AT PRESENT!!!"_
-Thanks GA!
It's really down to DTI.
When motorcycle taxis were being legalized through the TWG, I kept asking DOTr if they can do anything about the absolute garbage helmets being given to passengers.
But unfortunately, if DTI says it meets local standards, then it's considered legal.
Honestly, to me, it seems impossible that some of the helmets with ICC/PS are really meeting the proper standard.
Na impound Kaya ung motor Ng pulis? Pinakyaw na nya violation eh
Nice. We have a police officer violating traffic laws. Such a great model citizen.
Pilice Officer with no plate, no side mirrors, no helmet, backride with bicycle helmet. what happened?
As you saw in the video, he was ticketed just like everyone else.
pormadong motor + firearm = mayabang
We have uniform laws for motorists….
The police officer is assigned in SWAT
Also they should have a record how many apprehensions a driver has exceeding 3-5 be reprimanded and no driving for a certain time till their license revoked or new training
Or a week in jail
Barangay officials are more often likely tolerating these road use infractions because those commiting or encouraging them are constituents and voters... these type of Barangay officers must be suspended and replaced by second-in-commands as soon as possible. Otherwise it is a never-ending problem...
