- Today we explore to long lost world of Windows XP and explore some old nostalgic games that my viewers grew up exploring in their youths while I explore them as well but as new experiences that I am exploring. I like Dora.

I knew a kid once who would only play that damn Captain Crunch game whenever we hung out. I tried to play something else once and he literally threw a temper tantrum until I gave in.
If you're reading this Jesse, I hope it was worth it.
he's cooking now
We all knew that guy on some level. I may have been him at times.
@@peter_knetter what is wrong with you
Kids always be cryin' over the most random shit 💀
You can just tell that the tantrum is what changed this from “My friend” to “I knew a kid once”
the crunchium shortage was easily the 2nd worst thing to happen in 2001
9/11.
@@MarsTheMellowcrunchium shortage is wayyy worse tbh
@@Htbahb16 good point.
arguably the worst thing that happened on 2001.
"If you keep popping them CD's out, your gonna CD's Hands" is the best thing I've ever heard from him
Thank you for the new “in 2001” videos they are the highlight of my dad

Truly, words of wisdom
That Cap'N Crunch game was something I played for hours.
A crunch mans Chao garden
i've been watching this man do silly things in his basement since 2016 and i do not regret a second of it
Same bro
jeez I thought it was a new channel, that's some slow growth
Been here since he used to do his what up with videos.
@soph144 same dood
I grew up playing Jump Start First Grade, Purble Place, and Duke Nukem. Then we got a modern PC that couldn't run any of them so my Mom just gave all the CDs away. That was a sad day. 😅
Rough. My mom once threw out my fav racing game, Outlaw Racer. We need to revolt.
@@peter_knettermy mum threw out my psp because it was buggy. bearing in mind this is in 2015 so i can’t really get a new one
We used to use Gamefly a lot to rent wii games, but we didn't bother to return the games so we just bought them. Some cousin of ours sold both our wiis, and the bigass container of DVDs (games from both the wii, gamecube, and some movies) we had on hand. It was pretty shitty.
But now u can get them online i bet your tempted to buy them to play them again
@@kindlykitten-gh9hd I already have been replaying them and revisiting my childhood memories.
when Peter posts, it’s bouta be a good day.

I LOVED Employee of the Month when i was a kid, once you get past the janky graphics and controls, the writing was a lot of fun. Makes me wonder what it would be like if it was a 2D point and click that was animated like an episode of the show
the point and clicks ruled
I loved the noises so much
I played Donald Duck Goin Quackers on the PC back in 2001. Man did the PC version have an awesome soundtrack!
The game itself was a good Crash Bandicoot clone.
Man, i loved the music of the PC version too! Especially the Gyro Lab theme is still stuck in my head after all these years.
My favourties are Gyro's lab, Ghostly Path, Beagle Boy, Creepy Corridor, and well the other songs too, lol
Later I got the Gamecube version, which is completely different, and also has different music. It didn't blow me away as much as the PC version.
The nintendo 64 version has the pc soundtrack but it's poorly turned into midis and is broken in the way the music was ported
@@bewearstar9462 Yeah, that version is known for that issue. Fans are working on a repair patch though, as that version has some exclusive songs not found in the PC version.
Dude, that was my EXACT Windows XP I had as a kid. Tower and everything. That is some hardcore nostalgia for me.
You already know it’s boutta be a good video when Peter is in the asbestos basement.
Back when PC gaming was real gaming
No joke, I literally just found my copy of the Cap'n Crunch game at my parents house over the weekend and brought it home with me to try and play it again. Now I gotta find Chex Quest.
No shot. Small world
I think Peter is officially stuck in the basement and forced to use 2000s software forever
This is the kind of PC gaming I grew up with. As a kid I thought games on a computer were a pipe dream lol. PS2 for life
Wow, nice video. It really reminds me of "PC Gaming in 2001" by Peter Knetter.
It is such an honor to have my real actual name mentioned in one of your videos. I will be bragging about this to my cardboard grandchildren.
I giggle and kick my feet whenever Peter uploads 😊
Holy shit. I never thought I'd see someone cover this spongebob game (the first one in the video). I own it, somewhere in my house, and I loved it a lot. I never got passed too much in the game though, but I recognize a lot of the sounds from the game.
i have Captain Crunch's Crunchling Adventure installed on my PC as i watch this lmao such a classic
Imagine if the 2000s never ended
I wonder what would've been like
It’s 2023, so 2000s still didn’t ended. At least until y3k.

Have you thought of doing a video on early 2000's flash games? Those are so nostalgic to me. This would include more in depth games such as Wizard 101, Moshi Monsters, Bella Sara (not alive anymore but there's a disc game), My Free Zoo, Poptropica, Learn 2 Fly, and probably a whole lot of others I'm not remembering. I know you're a little older than me so probably not what you grew up with, but this video reminded me of those games
This was extremely incredible amazing job with the video I just freaking love everything about this keep doing of what your doing and keep on making great content love your videos.👍❤️❤️❤️👍
Pefer, the only reason you couldn’t play it is because it said FOR GIRLS
The game was rigged from the start :(
The Cap'n Crunch game is extremely nostalgic.
"We all have a nostalgic era for video games that we're biased toward"
Atari 2600 games. When I was in 9th grade my dad got my sister and me an Atari 2600 with 90 pre-installed games. I spent so many hours beating Adventure over and over again, pretty much speedrunning it.
On the other hand, I'll never forget the frustration of whatever that karate game was, especially when my sister made me be P2, which had the disadvantage of being slightly lower.
A critical piece of information in this story is that 9th grade Christmas was in 2017, and this was also the Christmas I got a tablet, which was followed by a flip phone for my birthday 3 months later
I did indeed play the heck out of SpongeBob employee of the month as a lad
i was obsessed with employee of the month when i was younger. i couldnt play it, but i would always watch this fella named gamemaster468 play it over and over
OMG who sent Jump start first grade?!!! I must meet him and thank him. So many great memories with that game. Thanks for highlighting it and for the overdose of nostalgia!!
Every time there’s a new peter video I swear i get taken back to 2001
I used to spend HOURS playing the Jumpstart First Grade. Thanks for the nostalgia
Gotta leave a like for PC CD-Rom games
"you look like i made you in sketchup" as a sketchup user this made me laugh too hard lmfao
YOOOOOO THE CAPN CRUNCH GAME AND THE JUMP START MATH GAME WITH THE BUGS WERE SO IMPORTANT TO ME WOW
this is so retro
Yea
2001, not retro at all

The Pepsi is so old that it’s as yellow as my SNES 😂
So upset Peter didn't get to play barbie! He looks like ken afterall
Thank you. I need the sympathy :(
I remember that SpongeBob game. I would play it constantly as a kid. You know if you double click wherever you want SpongeBob to go, it would make him move faster. Heck, a lot of these games brought me back to my childhood
the windows xp pc is becoming a reoccurring character in the peterverse, and i love it.
Hey Peter! I found your channel Bicuriously (bicuriously). Loving the videos!
I’ve never wanted Peter to upload a specific video but for the first I time I’ do and he actually makes it
I usually don’t care what he uploads but always enjoy it
Captain Crunch's Crunchling Adventure was the bomb.
Look into Creatures 3 for another sort of weird fever dream like late 90s gaming experience too
Blaster, Reader Rabbit, and Thinkin' Science Zap! definitely left some early PC memories.
The fact that my friends and I just replayed that SpongeBob game like 2 months ago is hilarious
Peters videos give me “up at 2 AM and surviving on flavored waters and chips and on the brink of falling asleep” vibes
BRO ONI???? DUDE PETER I LOVE YOU THAT GAME IS SO GOOD
9:41 and 9:57 bro rlly had the audacity to technically throw the bomb at himself and yell take cover like someone else is under attack then peter just randomly assaulted a worm with a Glock 💀💀😭😭
always a great treat to see someone play worms, armageddon and 3d are both my favorites
nice new setup pete
Waking up to a new Peter knetter is awesome
the pikachu spongebob combination makes sense to me now. the context is deep.....
I have such nostalgia for the Jump Start games!
I can't believe Peter Knetter just went back in time 22 years ago just to play those PC games!
Now travel 600 years back and go witch hunt
holy shit the captain crunch game the music from it is always stuck in my head
Popping the disk out was the most nostalgic part for me
1:04, me when I do anything that resembles any form of accomplishment
Glad patter has gone back to the classic Mountain Dew hat.
3:46 You gotta watch your mouth around the Captain man, last person to give him lip like that got his kneecaps crunch-a-tized.
As a former poor kid, the best computer games I could get was whatever flash games were on the web. plenty of fun stuff, thou all their names escape me...truly was an era.
I remember this Captain Crunch game vividly. I can hear the Capt'n saying "Youre halfway there!!! Go for it!!!" I fuckin loved this game as a kid
Man, I remember playing spongebob employee of the month as a kid at my school
excellent taste in headphones
I was OBSESSED with Employee of the Month, I still wish I could play it today 😆 I have so many amazing memories playing it ❤
And jumpstart 1st grade! I played that a lot too!
The jumpstart games were so good!!!
6:51 thanks for the shout out for North Carolinians
My go to vibe game was “3D Ultra Lionel Traintown Deluxe”.
Very cool gamplay peter, wormz da best
These videos are a gold mine, lol
I had Oni as a kid on PS2 and legit only bought it cos of the cover art. You never get to dual weild guns AND there is no shutgun. I did like it a lot though even if it was FORMIDABLY janky and dark to the point I had no idea where I was going at times. It's really fun with cheat codes, especially the ones where you can use any given character model in any level, including the ones in cutscenes, all the enemies, etc. It is charmingly 2000s and couldn't be more a Ghost In The Shell wannabe if it just did what those pr0n parodies do in their titles.
Also Jump Start games were my childhood. Like... I played those almost as much as my consoles and those 100 in 1 shareware discs. That era was truly special.
Oni was clearly inspired by Ghost in the Shell, which isn't a bad thing, since the manga was great and the OVA was amazing, gloomy and dark, but amazing. Stand Alone Complex? Equally great.
Oni was released after the Ghost in the Shell PS1 game, and we wouldn't get a game in the GOTS series until Stand Alone Complex on PS2, which is ironically similar to Oni despite the game being inspired by the series that the PS2 game is from.
I love your videos, but out of curiosity. What happened to "The Whats Up With" series?
I just stopped making them because I wasn't in the mood 🤙 im quirky like that tee hee
@peter_knetter Makes sense. Keep on doing your thing man 😎
I played that Cap'N Crunch game for HOURS every day
im not sure but i bet growing up with that jumpstart dog would've been a nightmare
Recently went thru a full playthrough of Spongebob Employee of the month and let's just say it hasn't aged too well...

How do you make something so simple and then make it the funniest video on the earth? I guess Peter knows the secret
You actually one of my favourite RUclipsrs
Really?

This entire setup is absurdly nostalgic to me. Mismatched parts cobbled together with a PC that was probably stolen from an elementary/middle school from 2001.
I loved the Capn Crunch game. I played it and Zoombinis all the time tbh
I loved playing that SpongeBob game as a kid. Played it way too much.
Bro, how'd you find my old folder of childhood CD/DVD games? Can't believe that Cap'n Crunch game has become a relevant point of knowledge in the year 2023.
