I knew a kid once who would only play that damn Captain Crunch game whenever we hung out. I tried to play something else once and he literally threw a temper tantrum until I gave in. If you're reading this Jesse, I hope it was worth it.
I grew up playing Jump Start First Grade, Purble Place, and Duke Nukem. Then we got a modern PC that couldn't run any of them so my Mom just gave all the CDs away. That was a sad day. 😅
We used to use Gamefly a lot to rent wii games, but we didn't bother to return the games so we just bought them. Some cousin of ours sold both our wiis, and the bigass container of DVDs (games from both the wii, gamecube, and some movies) we had on hand. It was pretty shitty.
I LOVED Employee of the Month when i was a kid, once you get past the janky graphics and controls, the writing was a lot of fun. Makes me wonder what it would be like if it was a 2D point and click that was animated like an episode of the show
I played Donald Duck Goin Quackers on the PC back in 2001. Man did the PC version have an awesome soundtrack! The game itself was a good Crash Bandicoot clone.
My favourties are Gyro's lab, Ghostly Path, Beagle Boy, Creepy Corridor, and well the other songs too, lol Later I got the Gamecube version, which is completely different, and also has different music. It didn't blow me away as much as the PC version.
@@bewearstar9462 Yeah, that version is known for that issue. Fans are working on a repair patch though, as that version has some exclusive songs not found in the PC version.
No joke, I literally just found my copy of the Cap'n Crunch game at my parents house over the weekend and brought it home with me to try and play it again. Now I gotta find Chex Quest.
Holy shit. I never thought I'd see someone cover this spongebob game (the first one in the video). I own it, somewhere in my house, and I loved it a lot. I never got passed too much in the game though, but I recognize a lot of the sounds from the game.

Have you thought of doing a video on early 2000's flash games? Those are so nostalgic to me. This would include more in depth games such as Wizard 101, Moshi Monsters, Bella Sara (not alive anymore but there's a disc game), My Free Zoo, Poptropica, Learn 2 Fly, and probably a whole lot of others I'm not remembering. I know you're a little older than me so probably not what you grew up with, but this video reminded me of those games
If I had a nickel for everytime Peter couldn't get a PC Barbie game to work I would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
"We all have a nostalgic era for video games that we're biased toward" Atari 2600 games. When I was in 9th grade my dad got my sister and me an Atari 2600 with 90 pre-installed games. I spent so many hours beating Adventure over and over again, pretty much speedrunning it. On the other hand, I'll never forget the frustration of whatever that karate game was, especially when my sister made me be P2, which had the disadvantage of being slightly lower.
A critical piece of information in this story is that 9th grade Christmas was in 2017, and this was also the Christmas I got a tablet, which was followed by a flip phone for my birthday 3 months later
This was extremely incredible amazing job with the video I just freaking love everything about this keep doing of what your doing and keep on making great content love your videos.👍❤️❤️❤️👍
i was obsessed with employee of the month when i was younger. i couldnt play it, but i would always watch this fella named gamemaster468 play it over and over
OMG who sent Jump start first grade?!!! I must meet him and thank him. So many great memories with that game. Thanks for highlighting it and for the overdose of nostalgia!!
I remember that SpongeBob game. I would play it constantly as a kid. You know if you double click wherever you want SpongeBob to go, it would make him move faster. Heck, a lot of these games brought me back to my childhood
This entire setup is absurdly nostalgic to me. Mismatched parts cobbled together with a PC that was probably stolen from an elementary/middle school from 2001.
I had Oni as a kid on PS2 and legit only bought it cos of the cover art. You never get to dual weild guns AND there is no shutgun. I did like it a lot though even if it was FORMIDABLY janky and dark to the point I had no idea where I was going at times. It's really fun with cheat codes, especially the ones where you can use any given character model in any level, including the ones in cutscenes, all the enemies, etc. It is charmingly 2000s and couldn't be more a Ghost In The Shell wannabe if it just did what those pr0n parodies do in their titles. Also Jump Start games were my childhood. Like... I played those almost as much as my consoles and those 100 in 1 shareware discs. That era was truly special.
Oni was clearly inspired by Ghost in the Shell, which isn't a bad thing, since the manga was great and the OVA was amazing, gloomy and dark, but amazing. Stand Alone Complex? Equally great. Oni was released after the Ghost in the Shell PS1 game, and we wouldn't get a game in the GOTS series until Stand Alone Complex on PS2, which is ironically similar to Oni despite the game being inspired by the series that the PS2 game is from.
As a former poor kid, the best computer games I could get was whatever flash games were on the web. plenty of fun stuff, thou all their names escape me...truly was an era.
