Good to know I wasn't going crazy when I found Star Fox Assault so much louder than other games. I literally set my volume to 1 and I can still hear it clearly from the other room. I understand games back then were loud to hide the sound of the fan but god some of them went too far

6:32 I find Shadow the Hedgehog's multiplayer as my personal pick as most underrated multiplayer on GameCube. Story Mode got lame the 4th go through, but that multiplayer I always had a blast with, duking it out with my best friend Anthony.

Day 6 of asking Peter to play Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights: been a while huh
Finally, with the "Gamecube controller with a screen" and the Gameboy player, I can play Gameboy advance games on the go

In case anyone was wondering, the HipGear screen controller is _not_ actually a portable way to play GameCube games. You still needed to power the GameCube itself somehow - it just replaces needing a screen. Now there is a battery pack you can get for the GC that plugs into the bottom of it, but at that point, you might as well try to get the attachable screen for the GC itself.
So I had one of these, brand new, and it died the same day. I was playing 007 on it, went afk to go upstairs, and came back to it smoking with the smell of burnt plastic. Yes, somehow, it overheated itself to the point of destroying itself. Went back to the store the next day and all of them were pulled off the shelf. Guessing it maybe had some kind of recall? In the end, removing the screen just turned it into a clunky and terrible 3rd party controller.
Me as Peter's financial advisor:
Peter: I wanna buy a tiny screen for my GameCube controller.
Me: YEEEEEEEESSSSSSS.....
