I was actually part of the rare group of kids who acquired Chex quest from a cereal box. Even rarer - I liked Chex as a kid... Not only played but enjoyed it. When the next best thing was a plastic spoon that wrapped around your finger (from froot loops)... And that my top game at the time was Lego Island. Long story short it was adequate.
I vague memories of ending up with it and I don't remember if we did even eat Chex, unless it was an impulse buy from my mom that none of us would touch
I actually had the Taco Bell "taco maker marathon" game as a kid, It's a clone of burger time. Where you push taco ingredients onto a conveyor belt to make tacos. It was also violent in the sense that, if you fell onto the conveyor, you'd be processed in the taco machine...and it would actually count towards making the taco. You could throw yourself onto a conveyor to make human tacos.
Chex Quest is actually a really good game series with a community of fans. The game runs on idtech(Doom) and was made by a few guys in a few months while in school.
They had fast food video games before I was born. Also in cereal boxes too as prizes! Man I'm kind of sad I didn't go up in this time period. Because this sounds really cool. The only best prize I've got in a cigar box nowadays is some good free Pokémon cards. Other than that I haven't seen anything except trash. But I was a little bit younger maybe in middle school doing a comic book. But I didn't open it and read it but I still have it. Anyways pretty cool to see. I also remember when I grew up they used to be the CDs you can get out of Wendy's kids meals. That was cool.
