Stranger On The Shore - Steve Reynolds

"Stranger on the Shore" is a piece for clarinet written by Acker Bilk for his young daughter and originally named "Jenny" after her.[1] The tune was written on a single scrap of paper by Bilk and handed over to Leon Young (1916-1991) who crafted the string arrangement, including the characteristic harmonic shifts at the very end.[2]
The recording was subsequently used as the theme tune of a BBC TV drama serial for young people, Stranger on the Shore.[3] It was first released in 1961 in the UK, and then in the US, and reached number 1 in the US and number 2 in the UK.[4]

I always liked this song originally played on the clarinet by Acker Bilk, but this is the first time I've heard a guitar arrangement. Absolutely beautiful! It is so sad watching it knowing that Steve has passed on. He was such a wonderful musician and always added a beautiful touch to anything he played. Of course, I didn't know him personally, but he struck me as a very gentle and kind person. The world needs more people like Steve Reynolds.

Yes I can hardly believe its 2 years since Steve passed away 😢! In the first lockdown I listened to his video alot and also gained 65lbs of fat in 6 months and had a health scare 😱 a TIA ( mini stroke) about the same time that Steve passed away. Lockdown was a scary time
