I was going to buy their AR pistol but being in CA it seems like a headache to convert it to semi auto. Don’t want to risk getting in trouble. Changed my eyes to this JTE AR 15, drooling over it now.
Dude just do it!! everyone does it in California do you think these people that upload these videos? Keep it at California compliant? Of course not they only keep a California compliant to do the videos but I’m pretty sure when they go shooting. No one’s gonna be compliant bro trust me. .
The only thing that may have a possibility to do anything is the rotation of the 2 pins that hold the trigger group inside the lower receiver possibly wearing the pin holes larger. But at the same time, no one realistically will fire the round count in full auto to have that happen to their lowers. It really is a overblown worry that people have. And there are anti rotation pins to solve that. Tldr, you're right.
Just picked up my black jet-15 today! It’s my 1st ar so I’m pretty excited. Question did you ever end up tightening the mag release? Mine is loose like yours so wanted to see if you did it thanks!
Hell yea Marcos! You'll like it. Yes I did tighten the mag release. The way you tighten it is: 1. separate the upper from the lower, Just open it up 2. Press the magazine release in deep ( use a pencil or pen to push the magazine release deeper inside the mag lower receiver ) 3. On the other side of the receiver, the magazine catch will pop out far enough where it's not captured by the lower receiver anymore. You can rotate the magazine catch 1 full rotation clockwise. 4. Release the magazine release button and you'll be set.
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 finally got my hands on my OD Green JTE-15 and have the same slightly loose mag release. But when I try to tighten the release just one full turn it seems to be too tight and the button doesn't let the freedom fighter pin to detent enough thus can't close lower/upper fully. Any suggestions?
@@9RaZoR6 The only way is to file down the pin and test closing the upper and lower. Try and file it evenly all around the pin, ideally. If you do mess up, you can buy replacement pins. And in order to replace the pin, you will need to probably heat up the area with a heatgun or hair dryer to loosen the locktite and remove the set screw with a 5/64 allen key. Good luck
The mag you have, can you provide a link? Just purchased similar riffle and serving the 10 day waiting period so looking for accessories and that mag adapter is a must.
I just got one and took it out and I was not happy with it. Every 4th round won’t fire and I had to wait for the reset like 2 seconds. That’s my only complaint. I got some aero p bolt and a buffer tube and all to fix that problem
Definitely a good starter rifle, helped me learn about modifying AR's. I have sold it to friend, and actually built my own rifle. The major difference is the weight. The Juggernaut is 8lbs with a mag inserted, my current AR, which is custom built by me, is 6lbs with light weight bolt carrier group and 14.5 pinned and welded barrel
Thanks for video. As a recent firearms owner i just purchased the JTE because it was built and designed as CA compliant with the JT HF pin and Houge FF Maglock pin. I’m still not sure i understand why you need to file down the pin. Is this an additional step I’ll need to do? thanks again
The reason you want to file down the FF pin is for 2 Reasons: 1. Retain as similar as possible to a normal reload proceedure without maglock. Because upon an empty mag, you have to press the mag release to release the bolt to start your reload process. 2. Make it easy to clear malfunctions. If you have a double feed, you would have to take apart the JT pin and front take down pin to clear it. With a filed down pin, you can press the JT pin, press mag release, and clear it out through the magwell
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 thanks so much! ive read up on this and learned about LRBHO. the HFF and JTHF working in tandem can operate with the bolt locked back...however, the file option is a plan B if it doesnt. Thanks again!
@@bookwormbandit2689 Hey! That's a great tip about filing the bottom of the pin. A 5/64 allen key is used to remove the HFF pin, but it has some sort of locktite on it from Factory, so heat may be required to remove it.
@@tizben thats probably the case with my HFF which came pre-installed..i haven’t had to file down my HFF pin yet...but if you get the HFF kit separately and you were to install it yourself, it comes with three pins and the jig to install it...and youd couldnprobably install it without locktite
Yes you can, use a 5/64 allen key and stick it ontop of the lower receiver and remove the set screw. It may be held in with some kind of loctite, so you'll probably need to heat the area up and let it cool before you remove it. Then it'll be just a normal AR
Just got my jt15, removed their hellfighter kit because i like bolt lockback, went with ARmaglock with the JT button. And installed a BAD lever, had to dremel a bit of frame from the newer jt15 model because the BAD lever wouldnt work at all, but it works PERFECT now
I recently got a JTE-15 cal compliant version and after a few mags I noticed the trigger not resetting after each shot. Have you had this issue? Pretty much just having to push the trigger forward then ready to go but it's not normal.
It has not happened on my gun. Most likely the trigger spring was installed wrong. It's not too difficult to do on your own. Look up a video on how to remove and install a triggery assembly. The JTE has a milspec trigger, so look up those types of videos, not the drop-in single piece triggers. Good luck
I bought mines like 3 weeks ago maybe a month and finally found time to go to the range and I kid you not I couldn’t unload a whole clip without it jamming so disappointed ☹️
What kind of ammo were you running through it? Also the gun comes pretty dry without lube. Make sure to lube it before you fire it. Mine was able to shoot 55gr reloads, american eagle, pretty much any cheap range ammo

In order to lock the bolt back, you see the ping pong paddle-looking switch on the left side of the rifle. First pull the charging handle all the way back, then press on the bottom of the ping pong paddle. If you don't have the ping pong paddle, then you can't lock the bolt back.
@@woodworm3615 Looks like the new JT 15's have ambidextrous lower receivers. You would have to try it in store as I'm not sure. Ask the associate to demonstrate it for you if you are not sure how to do it.
In California, if your rifle is magazine locked, then you can have an A2 flash hider. A magazine locked rifle can have all the evil features besides putting in a magazine with more than 10 rounds.
Nice quality for your first time. Maybe be more aware of your head movement and try to slow/minimize it where possible. Fast or jerky video panning is never a good look. Must exaggerate slower movements to make it most palatable to the viewer. Good job.
This rifle uses only the hellfighter pin, and not the bolt catch that is included in the full juggernaut tactical hellfighter pin kit. This rifle uses the hogue freedomfighter magazine lock, which uses a standard bolt release/lock. So this rifle can lock the bolt to the rear no problem
It's smart to make sure if it is still compliant. And yes it is, the magazine lock showed in this model complies with california's magazine lock for "assault rifles." You could also buy a rifle that does not have all the "assault" features such as a flash hider, vertical foregrip, pistol grip, and adjustable stock.
@@bowieupland6112 dont buy those! Buy Mag Coupler version. Cross industries is larger and has extra weight. The mag coupler version is lighter and feels more natural when removing.

Jonathan, i just sold it to a happy new AR owner. I'm going to use that money to fund a new custom build. The JTE started my interest and love of AR's. It is over gassed and has a slightly stronger recoil impulse, very reliable and didn't jam on me because I kept it lubed
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 I am a AR Newbee and just bought a Juggernaut JTE and have not shot it yet. I was wondering what does "Over Gassed" mean and what effects does over gassing have on this AR? Thanks in advance and for posting this, although I wish that you would have not sold it so that I could learn more about the Juggernaut JTE.
@@mikewhite8490 Hey Mike, over gassed is just as it sounds. The amount of gas going from the gas block through the gas tube into the upper receiver is a little more than "perfect". People say this results in a more reliable gun as it will shoot any type of ammunition without jamming, but will have a stronger felt recoil. There's a goldilocks zone that can be achieved with an adjustable gas block. But here's the thing Mike, I've been where you are now as a newbie. It is easy to get overwhelmed with all kinds of terms and ways to adjust the AR15. The truth is, being over gassed is not important, spend your time buying ammo or training and learn the proper techniques to fire/reload/accurately hit your target. It's kind of like saying a 150Horse power car vs a 200 Hp car, which one is better at getting groceries? It doesn't matter as long as it drives. The JTE is a reliable rifle, get out there and practice. Don't worry, you made a good decision buying it. Good luck, have fun!
First jam was a double feed at around 600 rounds in. Bench shooting, with a dry bcg, at least it looked pretty dry since I had it in storage for a while. Double feed. Remove the rear juggernaut pin, then pop out the front receiver pin, gives you enough clearance to drop the magazine, remove the obstruction and put everything back together. But if you shave down the hogue freedomfighter pin, then all you would do is press the hellfighter pin, mag release, rack the charging handle until the obstruction is gone, put back magazine and close upper and lower reciever
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 I've been able to just pull out the front take down pin just enough to pop recievers. This creates just enough space to release the mag. Sometimes better that removing the cap button, spring, etc. on the rear pin.

The BOLT START TO LOCK ON THE BUFFER TUBE WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF FIRING. PUT BACK THE REGULAR CHARGING HANDLE NO PROBLEM. MAYBE YOU HAVE AN INSIGHT ... THNAK YOU
The Gen4 has an adjustable set screw to screw in the mag release deeper or less, so it can function like a normal mag release when you are not in california. So you should look up the proper installation instructions for the Gen4 Maglock. I upgraded to a BCM ambi charging handle, and it works perfectly. It's cheap and high quality. I have no experience with with the Juggernaut tactical ambi handle
I ordered an ambi charging handle from Juggernaught too , I installed it and I have had no problems . I wonder why it is not working for you. The only problem I've encountered was installing a B.A.D lever. After every shot , by bolt would lock back. I could not figure it out until I realized I had the lever on too tight and it was somehow preventing the bolt to chamber next round after firing. I decided I didn't need it anyways, so I took it off, and it went back to normal ,but I've seen others with it on their JTE 15 and they have no problems. About the ambi charging handle, I would message them through instagram and ask them why it's doing that .. im scratching my head and trying to think why that would be happening . I'm sure there is a simple solution.

@@skbing5713 You cannot install a maglock gen4 and have the freedom fighter pin kit installed at the same time. But I see on their face book that they've ramped up production, and there are still people that have been waiting 3 months, there's that much demand. Personally, here's what I would do. On the left side of the rifle ( assuming your holding the rifle and pointing it) there is a bolt release that looks like a ping pong paddle. Pull back on the charging handle and at the same time, press on the bottom of the ping pong paddle, the bottom part, not the bit round top part. Then while holding the bottom part of the ping pong paddle, release the changing handle, and push it back into place (because it will now not automatically spring back to it's original position). Dude just do it!! everyone does it in California do you think these people that upload these videos? Keep it at California compliant? Of course not they only keep a California compliant to do the videos but I’m pretty sure when they go shooting. No one’s gonna be compliant bro trust me.
.
6061 may have a lower yield strength, yes. But ther is no stress you will ever put that gun under that a 7000 series will handle but a 6061 won't
The way you tighten it is:
1. separate the upper from the lower, Just open it up
2. Press the magazine release in deep ( use a pencil or pen to push the magazine release deeper inside the mag lower receiver )
Good luck

I just got one and took it out and I was not happy with it. Every 4th round won’t fire and I had to wait for the reset like 2 seconds. That’s my only complaint. I got some aero p bolt and a buffer tube and all to fix that problem
Wow, that's sad to hear about. Also maybe check out to see if the gas tube got clogged, because that's what happened to mine.
Does the bolt lock back on the last round?
How are you liking after 2 years? Im really considering getting it! Awesome video by the way
Definitely a good starter rifle, helped me learn about modifying AR's. I have sold it to friend, and actually built my own rifle. The major difference is the weight. The Juggernaut is 8lbs with a mag inserted, my current AR, which is custom built by me, is 6lbs with light weight bolt carrier group and 14.5 pinned and welded barrel
Try ar maglock in combination with that juggernaut push pin. That would work without having to shave anything
Thanks for video. As a recent firearms owner i just purchased the JTE because it was built and designed as CA compliant with the JT HF pin and Houge FF Maglock pin. I’m still not sure i understand why you need to file down the pin. Is this an additional step I’ll need to do? thanks again
The reason you want to file down the FF pin is for 2 Reasons:

Thanks, I finally made it public hah. Start of the youtube career.
Question please , can the buttstock be change for a m16 retro style i like the old school look.
No because this is a carbine buffer tube and buffer spring length. The m16 retro style has a slightly longer rifle length buffer tube and spring.
What kind of magazine is that?
Beautiful AR!
Is filing down the pin make it illegal? Even if still retains the maglock when the kingpin is not pushed in to break the action?
It's not illegal because it still retains the maglock when the upper and lower receiver are closed.
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 Appreciate the quick response!
Just wanted to clarify that!
Thanks a lot!
I just moved out of CA to Texas. Can i just remove that Mag Lock Pin so that the magazine release works normally?
Yes you can, use a 5/64 allen key and stick it ontop of the lower receiver and remove the set screw. It may be held in with some kind of loctite, so you'll probably need to heat the area up and let it cool before you remove it. Then it'll be just a normal AR
Just got my jt15, removed their hellfighter kit because i like bolt lockback, went with ARmaglock with the JT button. And installed a BAD lever, had to dremel a bit of frame from the newer jt15 model because the BAD lever wouldnt work at all, but it works PERFECT now
Hell yes man, great job getting that done. If you want to get an integrated extended bolt release, check out the phase 5 extended bolt release v3
Stuck Behind Enemy Lines trust me I made sure it was lubed and everything I always do with my ARs and I was using Winchester 556 so Idk why it kept jamming up like i said it was disappointing

Stuck Behind Enemy Lines like I said I literally bought it and 3 weeks later I took it out to the range for the first time and nothing but jamming after jamming
What's the main difference between the AR-15 JTE and the JT-15?
JT-15 has an ambidextrous lower receiver and some nicer components. If you need the ambi controls, then you should get the JT15.
How do you lock the bolt back? I saw how you released it on the AR jt 15 Juggernaut. Thanxs.
In order to lock the bolt back, you see the ping pong paddle-looking switch on the left side of the rifle. First pull the charging handle all the way back, then press on the bottom of the ping pong paddle. If you don't have the ping pong paddle, then you can't lock the bolt back.
Will the Hogue Freedom Fighter kit & the FF kit on a brand new JT Juggernaut 15 keep the bolt open? I'm in Calif.
@@woodworm3615 Looks like the new JT 15's have ambidextrous lower receivers. You would have to try it in store as I'm not sure. Ask the associate to demonstrate it for you if you are not sure how to do it.
The only thing not compliant is your A2 flash hider you need a compensator to be compliant. For California at least
Good job.
I have a question, I heard you cant lock the bolt to the rear at all, is that true?
This rifle uses only the hellfighter pin, and not the bolt catch that is included in the full juggernaut tactical hellfighter pin kit. This rifle uses the hogue freedomfighter magazine lock, which uses a standard bolt release/lock.
So this rifle can lock the bolt to the rear no problem
ALWAYS BUILD, NEVER BUY.
I know why but to those watching who aren’t informed. Tel them why we always build and not buy brotha !
@@illCapBeats it’s cheaper and you get to cherry pick quality parts.
Is it still compliant today Intrested in owning a rifle and found this but wanna make sure its still "compliant"

@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 Sounds good. Thank you
Can you make a video on how it shoots? Thanks!
@@stuckbehindenemylines2715 Thank you for the explanation.
Fix the mag reales because it's too loose? Pfffft
Will the 100rd dual drums work with the lower?
Yes, as long as it's 223 or 5.56. It'll be fun
Is your lower upper have a little play?
Upper and lower have zero play
Mine has a tiny tiny bit I don’t know if it’s normal?
What’s the magazine capacity with the hellfighter pin kit ?
If you magazine lock a rifle, which is what the hellfighter pin kit is for, you are only allowed to use 10 rounds or less for a magazine
Tell us what you did when you got your first jam

@@tizben thank you....

I used a phase 5 industries single peice bolt catch/release and really like it. I didn't want the bad lever to fall off. Not that it would if you lock Tite it correctly

I believe Juggernaut mill's all their own stuff, except for the lower and upper parts kits, so if they don't receive any of those parts, they cant build rifles. Same for every other company. But I see on their face book that they've ramped up production, and there are still people that have been waiting 3 months, there's that much demand.
Personally, here's what I would do. I wouldn't order it specifically from Juggernaut. I would call all the gun stores in your radius and see if it's in stock and ask when their restock of guns comes in/when was the last time they got some JTE's. Turner's outdoors still has it for MSRP price, but they're out all the time. call individual stores, cuz their online site isn't updated. If there aren't any stores near buy, call ones further away and see if they ship to your ffl.
If they can ship to your ffl, you'll need to first make sure your ffl is still accepting shipments, some aren't due to covid. Then pay the place where you're buying it from and give them your ffl shipping address (find this out from your ffl). Then email or give that receipt to your ffl. Then wait till they receive it.
They will charge you the DROS fee, Storage fee (varies), and tax from purchase. Make sure to bring your ID and 2nd proof of residency if you don't have a REAL ID. Then you wait for 10 days while your gun is in jail. Good luck. How did you keep the bolt back?
On the left side of the rifle ( assuming your holding the rifle and pointing it) there is a bolt release that looks like a ping pong paddle. Pull back on the charging handle and at the same time, press on the bottom of the ping pong paddle, the bottom part, not the bit round top part. Then while holding the bottom part of the ping pong paddle, release the changing handle, and push it back into place (because it will now not automatically spring back to it's original position). Now you have the bolt locked back.
