Thank you very much. This video is very helpful. I have a question, please. My clutch stays engaged all the time even when I manually pushed the clutch lever all the way to a stop. What was wrong?
It means that you can use any unit of measurement to get the right mixture. Eg: for every 16 liters of petrol (use 91 octane), you'd add 1 liter of 2-stroke oil. you could use a thimble or a 5-gallon bucket for a measuring unit, but its always 16 parts fuel, 1 part oil. (or 18-1)
A metal bracket could be easily fabricated for the rear of the chain guard; a zip tie will definitely break, sooner or later (probably sooner.) And, have fun trying to drill a chromed handlebar with a hand drill. Ain't gonna happen. Mark it, and use a drill press.
Many of our customers and many in the bike modding community like to work on their bikes themselves, we use the most likely tools and equipment available in our tutorials for the reason that they can easily follow along. We were able to drill a chromed handlebar with a hand drill. It is not efficient or accurate, but it is possible and likely more available to our customers than a drill press. The same reasoning is why we used zip ties for the chain guard. They are temporary solutions but the guard is not under a large amount of stress and is cheaper and easier than fabricating a bracket. Another option would be to buy one of the many bracket already in existence.
I had to put my chain in with ought taking off the covering and when it gets 3/4 of the way around it gets really tough, I got it through by turning it with a screwdriver. I wanted to know if this is normal
why is the part of the cable the one that covers the cable , kinda loose. did i mess up on the hole on the handle bar?? any help would be nice. i am stuck. first build.

I put the whole thing together and every time I get going the chain for the motor falls off. Sometimes the chain is tight and then it has slack. What makes it do that?
Yeah, I don't like the rear sprocket adapter that attaches to the spokes with the rubber & plates. Better off upgrading to the C&C'd unit that clamps to the hub. A bit pricey, but if you need to change a broken spoke, much less of a PITA. Bikeberry, you guys need to sell a disk brake adapter for the Repop Schwinn springer front ends!
We agree, the CNC sprocket adapter has easier installation and is more reliable. We are always looking at items to add to our inventory. Currently, the adapters available do not seem like a sound option, as disk breaks require sturdy mounting points and the options currently available contain far too much flex to be a reliable option.
I can't push the clutch cover down. I noticed the flower nut in my engine is not silver steel, is my clutch cover not moving cuz the flower nut is rusted? or are the clutch covers not supposed to move like this anymore
alright so im late to the party with this but hoping someone can give me some input - my pedals hit the exhaust; how is the best way to go about bending the exhaust pipe to move the muffler about an inch inwards?
I also need to know this. I was sort of planning on using a blow torch to heat up the metal tube and then try hitting it with a rubber mallet to bend it inwards. Could be disastrous, could be genius. I'm yet to find out.
@martymoist I can now pedal, but it hits the side of the exhaust and has scratched a bit of a groove into it. I actually got lazy and didn't use heat or a hammer, I just pedaled really hard and it bent enough out of the way 😂
The clutch does provide some ability to slow down the motion, similar to how a car with manual transmission will slow down from the drag coming from the drive train. This, however is not enough for effective breaking. We always encourage a proper break system for better safety an better performance.
This video is very informative and provides valuable information, however, there are some cautions that should be made. 1) The installer at several points uses pliers to grip a nut to loosen or tighten it. This is a very poor practice and should be avoided at all cost. It will just round off the corners of the nut making it more difficult to remove later. A box or open end wrench should be used. 2) The installer at several points uses a crescent wrench to grip a nut to loosen or tighten it. This is a very poor practice and should be avoided. It can round off the corners of the nut if the wrench isn’t adjusted properly making it more difficult to remove later. A box or open end wrench should be used. 3) The installer mentions the break-in oil/fuel ratio and the post break-in fuel ratio but does not provide it. The correct mixture is 18:1 (7 to 8 oz. oil per gallon of gas) during break in and 24:1 (5 to 6 oz. oil per gallon of gas) after break in (four tanks of gas). 4) The installer shows the use of a tie-wrap to hold the chain guard in place at the rear of the guard. This is a disaster waiting to happen. That tie-wrap, when exposed to the sun and elements, will eventually break. A better solution would be to fabricate a metal bracket and bolt it to the bike. Again, this is a very good video but needs a few improvements.

Where would i place the 3 metal brackets which go around the rubber if there is only 1 set that comes with the kit. So 2 rubber pieces and 3 metal pieces, how would the sandwich go?
Yes, I didn't receive those (2) metal brackets either; I noticed a red 'X' drawn over those two pieces at the beginning of the (updated) vid. Seems to suggest they 're not needed. Will try to find if that's actually stated anywhere -
Fuel ratio is largely dependent on the type of engine and how it's being ridden. More aggressive riding requires a more generous amount of oil, where leisure commutes can do with less oil. EPA Certified engines are machine to significantly tighter tolerances, requiring far less oil to the mix, between 50:1 and 100:1. We stated 18:1 in our description for post break-in to side on safety for aggressive riders.

56 tooth sprocket on the typical 80cc engine will get you about 24mph, and then you'd have to tune with throttle stops to cap your speed but doing so would lug your engine pretty good and load it with carbon.
The flower nut should be hand tightened on the clutch to have approximately the correct tension for the clutch to engage. If the flower nut is completely off, it is very likely that the clutch is not engaging. One method of checking the tension of the clutch is to have the rear wheel connected to the transmission with a chain and spin that rear wheel. If there is no resistance from the clutch, the flower nut should be tightened. Keep tightening the flower nut a half turn until there is constant resistance in turning the rear wheel at various speeds.
Depends on how much fuel you're trying to make. The smaller number is the oil and the larger number is the gasoline. So for every 1 part oil, you'll use 18 parts gasoline. So if for example you have 12 ounces of oil (a soda can full), you'll need 216 ounces, or 1.68 gallons of gas. So if you use a 2 gallon gas can, drop in your soda can worth of 2 stroke oil, and then fill it to just below the 2 gallon mark, you'll be pretty close to that 18:1 ratio you need. Or if you don't want to wing it, you can always use a measuring cup you don't plan to ever use on anything else ever again. Just remember that the smaller number in your ratio is the oil. Doesn't matter what your units are. Ounces, liters, gallons, 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon buckets, beer bottles, etc.
I received my BBR engine kit and I was very disappointed. The box was ripped open and it was taped up. I was missing parts and had to argued with customer service just to get anything done and I'm still missing parts. I asked if I could return the engine but was told I will have to pay a restocking fee plus reshipping cost. The Cylinder head doesn't even fit right I asked if they would exchange it but I was told to take another picture with the caliper gage showing the measurements of the thickness of the head. I'm sorry but I'm the customer that paid top dollar in full cash of a "Stage 4" 2-Stroke Engine that was all messed up and missing parts. Please don't buy this engine buy the cheaper one that runs the same way depending on how you instal it and what upgrades you invested on it.
Same here. Very disappointed with bike berry kits. Expensive and no better than kits half the price. They don't tell you the many parts in the kit no good like the bad throttle handles and other important details their tutorials don't cover. Like the fact none of these kits include an important part needed to make the correct length of chain, the must needed half links for both chains. And the spoke wheel they shipped with no back sprocket. Waited weeks for replaced parts, bad parts. and delayed shipping problems. Don't buy from bike berry is my advise.
The chains in these kits cannot be properly installed without chain half links for both chains. Notice how in this video chain is at maximum adjust at drop out and it's still loose. Please include these with your kits and save many people much grief.

We got two of these for our daughters ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
I have built 6 of these and this guy forgot something Important!!!(MUST READ) when you take your flower nut off to insert your chain , you will have to re ajust the flower nut witch is not hard but is something yall should know

Please include these with your kits and save many people much grief.
wheres the four stroke one?
Our "How-to" installation of a 4-stroke engine is stretched over several videos. Check out the one that works for your needs.
will it work on my bike is kind of funky its a 26 inch Huffy Alpine here is a link with the same frame www.samsclub.com/sams/huffy-alpine-men-s-bike-15-speed/179736.ip
pleaze tell me if it will work
YALL don’t post much
excellent
“The fuel ratio is as follows” … nothing
Im doing this on a female schwinn beach cruiser, im gonna mount the tank in the rear
I have built 6 of these and this guy forgot something Important!!!(MUST READ) when you take your flower nut off to insert your chain , you will have to re ajust the flower nut witch is not hard but is something yall should know
That’s were I went south. After reinstalling the flower nut ext. I can either have the clutch engaged or not. It won’t properly operate back & forth. The flower nut either has to be way loose or way tight.
that sprocket assembly is extremely difficult ..oh lord..
ONLY takes about 30 minutes to take it on then 30 minutes to take it off.... how do i know this.... WELL THEN first time i put it on bolts were the wrong way, second time i put it on the dust cap was still on and it was locking the wheel, the third time i put it on it worked well
Don't forget: If you live in the shitty ol'State of New Jersey (Or any other Liberal flee-bag controlled state) Your motorized bicycle must have Below 1.5 horsepower and 50cc. Also, you need a valid driver's license, you must obtain title and register the bike (annual fee), you Must place a valid Moped licence plate on the bike, and obtain insurance: "Obtain liability insurance covering 1) bodily injury (up to $15,000), 2)
death (up to $30,000), and 3) property damage (up to $5,000)."
link to a cheap bike that will fit this and has to be in the uk?
These new engines are slower they were slow before but now it’s noticeable the bike I built 4yrs ago caps out at 45mph my newest bike has the same setup and tune and it only pushes stock numbers 20-24mph it’s been piped, rejetted, tuned and ported and yet nothing has changed
Gear ratio? Slipping clutch? Chain rubbing on something? Wrong cc?
@@anythingrc4715 no it’s a 66cc chain tension is just right not to stuff not to lose running on a 44 toothed sprocket.
Edit: I still have the motor I’m thinking it still runs like crap but I let my little sister ride it everything is fine I stripped it down checked everything it just a lazy motor
@@christiansanchez1486 well is your old one a higher cc….? Obviously it would be faster…..
This video made me cringe, using pliers on fasteners? Zip ties to install parts? Goodness.
Hey, on my throttle cable, there isn't enough bare cable exposed to do what the video shows... Not even close... ???!!!... Even with all the take-up screws turned in, there's no way it will work... Also, I have to say, you guys make all this look easy... I worked in the mechanical trades for 40 yrs., and this kit is problematic at every turn... Cheap hardware, things not made as they show in the videos, just an all around pain in the butt... I think you are misleading people trying to make it look easy... Then you call the supplier, or e-mail, and they don't get back to you... And you're struck trying to figure out how to get stuff to work right...
That's what you'll get from Chinese stuff, be it bicycles or scooters, or anything else.
salut je suis le seul francais !!

All the People who build these Never Fire them up and Ride them.
For efficiency and consistency, we typically reuse and rebuild 1 engine of each type and ride them for testing purposes, which we later show in our videos.
it is not easy to install
Skill set may vary, but with our instructional video installation is done step by step.
We should send the Dems there. They’d fit right in! |
Wait a minute.....
I can see why people sell these things after trying step 1 ..:)
Everyone despises these stinky noisy engines.
