I was planning on it but time escaped me. Doesn't mean it won't show up in a future video. I plan on making more videos based around just original music making soon.
JHS sent me this to demo, thats why its marked as a paid promo. And for full transparency this year has not been good financially. Been rough AF (laid off). But I am extremely grateful to be sent things because otherwise I could not afford to invest. When it comes to investing in gear these are some principals that help me decide if its worth it or not, hopefully it can help you too: 1: will it provide a night and day difference to my current sound? 2: buy nice or buy twice. So if I already have something that basically covers the need, I won't bother. And I would rather take my time, save the money and invest properly that skimp out. I learned this when I got a Behringer Poly D. 💀 People with money don't have to think much they can just spend reckless haha.
@@vvundertone Yeah. Also, for me, music and sound *is* my livelihood, so if something gives me that night and day difference, it’s worth saving up for (i write off gear on my taxes). I’m also a big fan of selling old gear. I’m over 50 so I have a decent amount of old gear in my studio. Sold some vintage keyboards to buy a Prophet, and it was the smartest thing I ever did. Clients rave about the sounds (I’m a freelance composer/producer for media).
Sound good, but £450 good ? I dunno', for that money I could get roller-skates, a denim jacket and jeans ("double denim"), an air-fryer, a dog and some stickers.
How does this compare to the Strymon Deco? Am I wrong to compare the saturation modes here? Just love the sound of crunchy guitars and synths over here :)
I have not used that pedal. But just looking at it, it appears to be more tape emulation centric. I would put it more into the "fx" category. The Colour Box is more of a preamp module so it includes a more robust EQ section.
Still waiting for that Volca Beats vid❤. Can't say what you have to show me in this machine to win against Volca Drum, really need that comparison from you😢
Thats going to be a fun one to make. I am so passionate about my Volcas. They are completely different beasts but I think they can compliment each other really well!
Hey, I’m not doing so well. I love music so much but I’m so limited that it feels like I’m burdened every time I sit down to make something. I can’t upgrade my daw and switching to analog is not an option budget wise I’m stuck in everything. I haven’t been able to make music at all recently especially because of religious beliefs stoping me from it to. I haven’t been able to find something I love as much as music but I have so many things stopping me from making anything do you have any advice on how I can get out of this?
Advice from a stranger. Seems to me that a new mindset is all you need. The only thing in the way of you creating is yourself. You choose your beliefs and everything you do every day. You might not feel in control but you are. I can’t this and I don’t have that is a limiting belief. If you truly love creating music than create with what you have. What helps me get inspired is listen to an album you like and make music after. Be free and have fun! Nobody needs analog gear to create great things.(even though it’s fun) You can do anything if you put your mind to it! Hope to hear something incredible from you in the future. 🙏🏾
Piggy backing off the previous reply, yes a new mindset sounds like the best solution. Being limited can create very innovative music. Analog is not necessary to be creative. What DAW you use? Unfortunately you stumbled on the worse video for your headspace right now. New gear is not the answer. I suggest taking a moment and learn one of your favorite songs (if your a musician) if you make beats try turning off the phone, disconnect from wifi and just lock in with the computer / midi controller. Don't give up, keep pushing and you will again find feeling that music once gave you. Personally I have stopped playing music for years at a time. Gone thru it heavy. But like you, nothing has ever brought me so much happiness. Sometimes I sit at the keys just slumped over and nothing comes out. When that happens, I play scales to drum loops. Gets my fingers moving, borderline meditation for my mind and suddenly my back with straighten and I'll start to break out of the scale find chords. Next thing I know I got chills again and its been hours. Hope this helps. DM me
First of, I use ableton. Second of, I’m Muslim and I value it more than anything else, back to music. I mean maybe I just need to try reaching out to different genres and artists and listening to them for inspo, idk. I need to try making a new beat today, if I don’t I’ll be failing myself.
it looks cute n all (never seen the neve edition; the other ones are dreadful to use thee ol eyes on) but, it’s uneventful and can do more probably? w an mxr eq pedal if ya crank the gain, i’m sure much much less dollar.
Those boots really push the tone, too. You didn’t include any audio without the boots, but I can hear their effect on the sound clearly. Subbed 😄
This is my desert island pedal. I put all external gear through it. It works great on drum machines.
Wish he would’ve tried it with the SP-555 😅
Now I'm really intrigued. What, specifically, drum machine do you enjoy using with the color box?
@@tyler_ The analog Elektron RYTM (older version). I record drums one at a time, and the Colourbox can give them the perfect amount of grit.
I was planning on it but time escaped me. Doesn't mean it won't show up in a future video. I plan on making more videos based around just original music making soon.
Yep. MPC through this thing is 👊. For me, this pedal is the definition of an ‘always on’ stompbox.
I dig the grit it added to the Electric Piano sound.
Nord needs all the help it can get!! 🧼
Two of my favourite RUclips channels come together. That's beautiful.
I think its time we make distorted DI guitar popular again.
Yes. Lindsey Buckingham did that a lot.
Agreed. Looking up tones for Zamrock records and often finding out what sounds like fuzz is just straight to the board!
Love your channel!
So inspired! Thank you for your videos ❤
Nice work on this demo.
you remind me that there are always more gems to find
too many 😅
King. Another gem. 💎
Would you be willing to show your process of how you'd build a drum sample pack and how you release such?
Definitely. I recently have been documented more of the sessions and process for such a reason.
WHERE DO YOU GUYS GET ALL OF YOUR MONEY

Hey brother loved the vid! Curious to know which one of all your drum packs were you using to accompany the nord sequence?
68' Breaks. Its un released. I am about half way done. Very stoked for this release. Gonna be huge.

would you recommend it for a 2009 revival deathcore production?

очуменные сапоги!
vvundertone strikes again
🤜🏻 🥁 🥊
How can that be 2 1073s in a row? Idon't see how he could fit 4 carnhills in that little box...
What's the white guitar mate?
its a 1969 Teisco s-2, made exclusively for Japanese market apparently.
i heard pigeon ears haha (think u said engineers)
Editing my videos has really shown me how much I slur my words. I been trying to focus on speaking clearer 🤣

Out of curiosity which religion is against making music?

Its true, a cheaper alternative is always available. Imo just keep far from Behr.
entirely different use case. if you’re talking about just as a guitar pedal, maybe
