Love this video Tim! What a killer guitar! I am blessed to have a prototype strat built by the Fender R&D guys and it is truly an amazing guitar. It was so cool to see some behind the scenes and the shop tour. Thanks Tim!
Wow - how cool to get a guitar made by the R&D department at Fender just for you. Wonder if they'll eventually make it available publicly? Neat video, Tim.
Tim, any guitar in your hand sounds exactly the same, which is……amazing. I am sure that fender R&D unit is awesome but you have the skills and experience to make a squire sound just as good as anything else.
@@timpierceguitaryou’re welcome. man that thing sounds great. I usually avoid anything with built in preamp, but that sounds very useful and musical. Really like how the lows sound too, never put 2 and 2 together with the nut to tuner length. Very cool!
I don't feel qualified to assess the sound of the that guitar, and as a 75 year old retired engineer, my hearing is not what it was (it trails off steeply at 8Khz and I hear nothing at 10Khz and above) but it sounded incredibly clean to me. Fabulous!! I had a Jaguar in that same blue ( back in 1983) I miss that guitar 🎸 ( my fiancée at the time “loaned” it to some neighborhood guys that supposedly were making a band 🙈) she didn’t ask, and I immediately called them and surprisingly nobody had a clue where it was…..gone to Fender vintage ax purgatory.😮
I have such a love for offset bodies, they are my favorites by far. Add the reverse headstock, the P-180’s, the vintage style trem, chambered and a compound radius neck. You got it all.
Its an odd shaped guitar but the feature set is intriguing....but most important...the guitar actually seems to achieve some tones that make it VERY useful for guitarists. Well done,Tim and Fender!
Amazing! Tim you never cease to inspire us mere mortals. The guitar is beautiful. The tour was awesome! Your playing, tone and sound, just WOW! I love the short scale! And just so much! Congrats on finding your "own" signature guitar. I went through alot of guitars finding all the boxes i needed to check or avoid. My two are a classic jaguar (for plugged in range) and Epiphone Wildkat in pearl, mostly unplugged as my go to couch guitar.
That's so freaking cool!!! I ADORE parametric EQ, and I feel like it's underused outside of the studio and mixing board. You can give w single coil humbucker pushz you can make a twin flatten out in the mids like a Bassman almost, it's just so useful
Awesome guitar! Even Joe B. doesn’t have one of those! Lol I took the Fender factory tour in 2015. Little did I know that perhaps one of the Tele bodies floating above my head would, a few months later, be mine.🎸
And Your Bird Can Sing. Great job. R&D still lives in America. Love the Parametric EQ and Boost. I am still an Ultra Luxe HSS Floyd Rose Strat player. That was rather expensive but I love it. This new guitar is a work of art for sure. I have been to the Ensenada plant a few times. Would love to visit the Corona facility. A beautiful place to visit and work.
You just explained why I like my ‘64 Epi Bonanassa Firebird 1 so much, reverse headstock, on a neck through design, I just was after the different sustain qualities, I got that AND a perfect upgrade platform For $ 800 bucks new, I then invested another $2500, every original piece of metal on it has been replaced, Dunlop jumbo frets, PLEK’d, Bone nut, real Waverly banjo tuners, 3 SD pick ups with Stacked vol/tone for each PU, individual off/on switch for each PU, SD coil switching PU mounts, 4 sounds each. A JB bridge, the soap bar + Blade, (can’t recall the name?) and a Parallel Axis neck
Amazing, guitar sounds great, but they always do in your hands Tim. Interestingly, I built myself a Jaguar style kit guitar a few years ago in almost exactly the same colours. Including the painted headstock and red pickguard. I still play it to this day.
Onboard parametric EQ makes SO MUCH SENSE! I guess it's like every other great idea. It makes sense immediately and you slap your forehead wondering why you didn't think of it sooner. It's also one extra free spot on your pedalboard because you won't need an EQ pedal...well...i guess that's only true after you put an onboard parametric circuit into all your guitars, so that free spot on the board is a ways off. Really cool though. Loving it Tim!

But personally, that's exactly what I prefer. To compensate for the difference, I play 10 gauge strings on the longer fender scale length and 09 gauge strings on the shorter Gibson scale.
