I aggree with you, but the GS are a question. Many players just dont have one in the top 20, even in top 10. And probably many of them will never have.
Fabi has the real high level of game, good tactic, great shots, but i am not sure about his stability and mental fanatism. If he can find in himself the "animal" maybe possible. But many great player who were really good at age of 19 just never could become better. De Minaur, Tsitsipas, FAA.
Fabi is much older, still not in top 10.
I will be happy if he could win a few 1000 and several other ATP tournaments.
And Hungary maybe not a big country, but bigger than Portugal, Serbia and Austria.
Much bigger than Denmark, Netherlands and Switzerland. ;)

This is a bit to strong faith.
Also what does it means soon? 5 months? This year? 3 years? Not the same!
But i also love and believe in him. I see his best tennis is a top 10 level.
But the constancy is a big question for him still nowdays. If you check this year you can see that.
An that is absolutely a question how much he can change with this team, and how much he can change overall. How stabil he can be?
Cause this is the problem with lot of players, they have great tennis at their highest level, but they cannot play on that even through just one tournament.
And these are top 100 players.
Some of them can maintain for one tournament, and more times 3-4 matches, but definitely not all year. These are top 50 players, even top 30.
But more visible and serious constany has just only the top 20, sometimes seems just the top 10 really.
And top 5, top 3, they are really special. Highest level.
Djokovic became number 1 at his age of 24. Was 13 years ago. Since then he spent 8 years at that position. Mostly beside Federer, Nadal and Murray.
I do not think physically or technically he is the best of the best. He is smart, has a good tactic, that is true.
But as i see his "secret" is his constancy, which coming from desire and focus ability.
His level of stability just incredible, really unique.
I hope Fabian will reach the top 10, lets say in 2 years.
I would be very happy with that result.

Rune's power shots and baseline defense did not work today. He was unable to adjust his game, them he lost his top.
Marozsan on the other hand is a tactician, finding a way to win points with drop shots, overgeads, short balls, sharp angles. He was simply smart, like Iga. He will be a major player this or next year, challenging sinnere and alcaraz here and there, and winning.

    • @shanequa555
      @shanequa555 5 месяцев назад

Yes, doesn't this game just go to show you the integral mental aspect of tennis!
I'm sure Rune is the more powerful player, but Marozsan tripped him up with his unusual game with all the drop shots, and Rune, as we all know, being somewhat temperamentally uneven and emotionally reactive, refused to elevate and adjust his game.
It seems that second tier players only give their 100% best to the slams, but in non-slam events seem to not mind losing.
Like Novak, it really does take a warrior mentality to be CONSISTENTLY good, and not just occasionally like Rune - that probably being because Novak grew up under war and saw tennis as a duty to family and country, whereas Rune seems to have the typical Gen Z spoiled mentality.

ATP confirmed after the game what commentators and most people watching the game already suspected, that Holger Rune is ill. The message came via ATP to other media, as Rune was too ill to give interviews after the game 😉

He will have to beat Alex, Sasha, Carlos and either Yannick or Danil for the title, thats the top 5 plus the number 10. I don't think his level will be nough to overcome all of this. Rune really didn't play well today, only 40% of points won behind his first serve.

You meant 'enough', not 'nough', but spell check refuses (usually) to allow me to make any corrections even though I taught tennis, chess, and English for over 30 years. I am soon to be 79 years old and was at Woodstock so my hearing is impaired and I'm a hunt and peck typist!!!!@@pureffm

The commentators during the game even described several times that he didn't look like himself and that even the people in his box were also behaving differently than usual.
