Watching this video as he just parted ways with Becker. A stable coaching situation is what you need to win a slam. Why is he flip flopping between two of the greatest coaches of all time?
I’m a huge Sinner fan but I may have un unpopular opinion… I’ve watched many Rune’s matches this year and I think that he has the most impressive technique and potential out of them 3 ( rune, sinner, alcaraz). If he can control his temper, he can really become a dangerous player
To me, it all comes down to one single key: patience. He tends to rush everything. That's good when you are in the zone. But when you aren't, you need patience.
Could you make a video about Simona Halep? I think her story needs to be told and I would be very curious to see your opinion on the whole situation. Love your vids btw, keep it going!
Rune has improved in all of these aspects immensely in the past year. He is way more mature now, is definitely working on his physical issues, and has the mentality of a beast. I think with the new team he has built in the last months, he will rise. Wishing him the best for 2024. People need to start looking past his actions in the past and look more at his journey. Very interesting growth and explosive game out on the court. Let’s go Holger!
Rune is a very talented player. The problem is that Sinner and Alcaraz are really tough. Mentally he has to be solid. Yes he has victories over top players but it's a matter of week in and week out consistency. On a given day he can beat anyone. Moratagulu is interesting because he knows how to market himself. If l am a player who is capable of winning grand slams, l go to Darren Cahill, Boris Becker, Brad Gilbert, or Brad Stine.
I just hope Holger's philosophy can change a bit under Boris and Severin. Daniil has showed a big shift in his way of thinking on and off the court now in Australia Open in comparision with his days of two years ago.
I agree with your breakdown of the issues that are causing Rune to not win as much as his talent would suggest. The biggest point for me was the decision making and shot selection, which to me go hand-in-hand. I’ve seen him essentially give up pivotal points due to his poor shot selection and decision-making
everyone who wants to get inside the intensity & instability of being a tennis prodigy like HR should read Agassi’s memoir. basically, none of us can imagine the pressure, exhaustion, & confusion of a gifted adolescent in any field rising so fast. that said, thank god HR got rid of that conman Patrick & sought help from a real tennis player/coach. he now has to work on his court positioning and tactics, as we saw in the Dimitrov match. a seasoned player can still pull him up & back & get him out of court position, which is when he loses balance & shanks. he still slaps the ball more than strokes it (the way Carlos does & Sinner has learned to do). my basic point, his path to success is technical & tactical as much as emotional. i predict he’ll never win a GS but will hover in the top 10 for several years. he’ll win 5 m1000’s. he’ll be rich & happy. also, he’s gonna have bad injury problems. i like him.
Holgers mother, Aneke, said, after the match, that Holger was shouting to his coach, Lars, to leave the box. Lars ignored it, and she left instead to take off the tension.
Maybe they should ALL leave the box to teach him a lesson ? He ' s nice off - court but disrespectful to his team while playing. They shouldn't have to put up with it. Medvedev did that to Gilles Cervara , too.
Great video! Thank you for sharing it with us, tennis fans! Rune is young and already a remarkable player🎉🎉🎉❤❤ Love when he plays even tho his mental part of the game makes me think sometimes that he is not ready for those GS 5 setters. Hope that he will only grow in 2024 and who knows, maybe he will reach later stages of GS this year once again! Maybe even a final of GS, which will be a great achievement! ❤😊😊 Way to go, Holger!
Rune is often simultaneously mentally pathetic & incredibly strong during the same match. He's super talented & I think he's a great player to watch so hoping for lots of success for him because to me he has more potential than anyone on tour save Alcaraz. Not a huge fan of his personality but he's still young & you can't like everyone all the time. I'm glad to see the good start he's had to the year, even though he lost that great final today to Dimitrov (love to see Dimi back to winning ways). I find it hard to take to Sinner's ball bashing playing style personally (even though he does seem to be trying to add drop shots & a net game in lately) & so I'm keen to see Rune do well, win multiple slams & have a super entertaining rivalry with Alcaraz for many years if all goes well.
I hope you are right. Just streamed the BreakPoint show on Netflix, and this kid comes off as an arrogant, immature baby, and what's worse, he's encouraged by his mother and the ppl around him. Coach Patrick tried to straighten him out and Rune got rid of him, realized his mistake later and went back to him. However, with that attitude he will never get past Alcaraz !!
Netflix likes to exaggerate n play down certain things. They never mentioned Zverev ' s domestic abuse charges from his ( two ) x - girlfriends ehich he denies, naturally but painted Medvedev as the villain.
I like Rune. Amazing talent and all court ability. Refreshing to have him and Carlos after years of boring grinders. Yes he is a little childish but hey he has time to develop. Alot of privileged tennis stars act out. I think Rune needs to work on endurance.
I think childish is an accurate description of what some people perceive in him as arrogance. I find arrogant players are able to conceal their emotions much better than Rune - his emotions read like an open book. Also, some of the cited abuse language on his part actually sounds peculiarly childish in Danish, devoid of typical or strong cursing words.
I don’t think Rune will be strong on the outdoor hard court season in the beginning of the year. He will not win tournaments here, but do better from the clay season onwards. He is a great player (I’m Danish), but I think he does too much slow top spinning under pressure, which is a no go on hard court- you get punished by flatter/hard hitting players like Rublev, Alcaraz, Sinner. He needs to play flatter instead of all this transportation/defensive play that has been inserted in his game. I understand that everything has to be dosed for the circumstances(his physicallity still does not allow him full gas), but he lost to Dimitrov because he gave away the initiative (and was tired after dropping sets in the opening two matches). Becker will hopefully build stability so he can play a more dictating game based on improved volleying and his retuning skills, then he’ll be deadly at the end of the season. Let’s see if he makes it - also with a matured attitude mentally…

A sophomore slump isa real thing. Other players figure out your game and how to beat you. Lesser players know your game plan too. you are also defending points from the previous year which adds more stress.
Why are your videos so gooooood!!? Who are you? Did you have good parents? LOL. Speaking of parents, Rune might have the same issue as Stefanos with overbearing, clingy parents and I don't judge him for telling his mom to leave the court. At least Holger realizes that he needs a coach who's actually either won some slams or coached someone who won slams under his/her guidance.
There is a great excuse to kick out his mom, His mom is a perfectionist just like Holger, so she doesnt look happy when he is not performing to his best, Holger doesnt like that.
Rune never really deserved the hatred he received from the start. He's handled the negativity very well for such a young player. The 'fans' and 'media' painted him as the "bad-boy" of the next gen. Why? Never understood it. Maybe it was the match against Stan and Stan is highly respect on tour. However, Stan acted like a sore loser imo.
The times when he's beaten Novak, was when Novak was coming back from being banned for not talking the vaccine. The two victories were on the back of Novak having very little match time. Since Novak has been fully match fit, he has lost every time. He has everything to be a top multi grand slam winner but I feel his head will be his undoing.
Holger is the one together with Jannik, having lots of emotions and fire to beat - this time its to beat Nole in his living-room - needing 3 winning sets. So both need to stay fully concentrated and conserve power in the 1st week. Come on Holger!!!
How can Sinner be described as showing his emotions ? He ' s from what Germans would call South Tyrol ( Trentino - Alto - Adige in Italaian ) so he ' s more Austrian in his manner.
Has Rune been tested for roxadustat ? As he was working with Patrick Mouratoglou, we are all wondering if this was why they stopped working together, either the publicity following Simona Halep's ban after using roxadustat and working with Patrick... The timing, in any case is suspect.
I'm a high school teacher in Denmark, and I agree with you! Bad behaviour from many students is the worst part of the job. (Rune always reminds me of the many students that are too immature, too lazy, and who learned too little in primary school to be in high school...)
Rune has just won a thrilling match against Dmitrov in Monte Carlo. Your boy Alcaraz couldn't even play because he overtrains and is frequently injured. Tsitsipas is doing really well but you probably haven't noticed. Your perfect player perception is so sad because it rules out everyone. Still waiting for a more balanced 'we need to talk about...' of Kyrgios but unless you do some research that's unlikely. You also haven't noticed that Kyrgios had serious wrist surgery eight months ago. Perhaps that's why you consider him too lazy to train?
Holger was a brat… there are clips on RUclips of Holger calling an opponent a homophobic slur and the screaming he did to his mother during the rest period in a mstch. He sceamed at her til she left the stadium. He was awful but leads me to believe Mother Dearest is the problem… in this mix, they seem to have a toxic relationship… I am happy he is back with George, who seem to bring out the best in him , both tennis and attitude… but me thinks Mother dearest felt threaten. Who knows
Most champions have a way of staying on an even keel in a long match. They keep their cool when it's going good AND going bad. Nadal, Federer, Djokovic & Murray all use the fist pump and a shout a few times per match but they, in general, keep an even keel and don't engage with their opponent. Rune is too up and down. I also don't think Becker is a great coach. Becker has a difficult time running his personal life and I think he needs a coach with a better head on his shoulders.
How is Patrick Mouitaglou’s reputation still intact and Simona Halep’s is in the dirt? He has literally taken full responsibility for her positive test and you’re speaking about him like he is a reputable coach. It really is a man’s world
something i will say with the utmost confidence about rune he’s a good player but he’s a rice kid who has no control or care he thinks he should be winning everything and he looks like a child he needs to learn he won’t win everything no matter what
His main mistake was he praised Novak for helping young players by giving advise and critized Roger and Nadal for not doing kind of thing that they should as their reputation before he got into top player. That upset many fans since Roger and Nadal are the most loved players and their fans hate Novak. So many fans put him in the lane of Novak beforhand. His personal outburst also helped to be badboy.
ARROGANT , INFATUATED WITH HIMSELF TO SAY THE LEAST! Bad education. There areMANY OTHER YOUNG VERY TALENTED PLAYERS with nice, modest behavior , and wonderful character. No body miss Rune except his parents and relatives.
The truth about Holger Rune , he will never win a Grand Slam , he was not even close to any semi final ...why ? Cause beside his awesome fitness and winning mentality he has limited shotmaking skills , sorry.

You look like Thanasi Kokkinakis :) Thanks for the upload
There is a great excuse to kick out his mom, His mom is a perfectionist just like Holger, so she doesnt look happy when he is not performing to his best, Holger doesnt like that.
The new grand slam winner for sure!
No. Ha vinto Sinner.
It is pronounced Alex Correchaa not Coryetta 😅
Just look at the Play at brisbane
Great video ♥️
Holger is the one together with Jannik, having lots of emotions and fire to beat - this time its to beat Nole in his living-room - needing 3 winning sets. So both need to stay fully concentrated and conserve power in the 1st week. Come on Holger!!!
How can Sinner be described as showing his emotions ? He ' s from what Germans would call South Tyrol ( Trentino - Alto - Adige in Italaian ) so he ' s more Austrian in his manner.
Rune will be top 6 this year.
Has Rune been tested for roxadustat ? As he was working with Patrick Mouratoglou, we are all wondering if this was why they stopped working together, either the publicity following Simona Halep's ban after using roxadustat and working with Patrick... The timing, in any case is suspect.
all tennis players dope.
He did cheat several times which is a horrible. There were several situations last year where he did same shady things..
Name them? Show me you actually know what you're talking about. Btw. I watch almost all of his games 😉
Rune is Danish, teens in Denmark are free to behave like they are without a correction..
I'm a high school teacher in Denmark, and I agree with you! Bad behaviour from many students is the worst part of the job. (Rune always reminds me of the many students that are too immature, too lazy, and who learned too little in primary school to be in high school...)
Rune should ask Roger to be his part-time coach!
I feel like not only his game but also his attitude has gotten way better since Becker joined his team
Per poco tempo purtroppo.
He made a good choice to hire Becker in his team !
It's fine to be talented and athletic but if you don't have the mental game there is definitely a ceiling to your accomplishments.
rune seems to have no respect from his peers....
He is just a kid. Lets hope he grows up soon I dnt watch his matches anymore because of his bad attitude
He Will be number one👊
Not in this lifetime no
Rune do not give up. All the big 3 hit their prime at age 24.
You never agree😂
Holger was a brat… there are clips on RUclips of Holger calling an opponent a homophobic slur and the screaming he did to his mother during the rest period in a mstch. He sceamed at her til she left the stadium. He was awful but leads me to believe Mother Dearest is the problem… in this mix, they seem to have a toxic relationship… I am happy he is back with George, who seem to bring out the best in him , both tennis and attitude… but me thinks Mother dearest felt threaten. Who knows
Physical problems and emotional problems not unrelated. Esp back spasm and cramping
You guys should do a video about the downfall of Schwartzman.
He will be number one someday.
I'd like the standards we hold for these young players held up to the average frat boy in a US college
Becker ' s personal life isn't good but coaching ' s separate matter.
love him!!!!
I have big expectations on Rune, he needs to mature as a professional player.
He has all the tools to stay in the top 10
He is a spoiled brat. Don't need to hear your take!
His forehand is suspect.
I see your Vacation Prince BB scented 🕯 ;)
Holger is a future #1, but it won't come until 2025.
maybe he'll become a good player with boris...Maybe...he has talent obviously but he needs something else...More and More
Who the fuck is Holgar Rune, should be the title of this video since no one knows
Maybe he's good or talented, but he's action definitely shows he's arrogant.
How is Patrick Mouitaglou’s reputation still intact and Simona Halep’s is in the dirt? He has literally taken full responsibility for her positive test and you’re speaking about him like he is a reputable coach. It really is a man’s world
It' s still a man ' s world because their mothers spoil them but are demanding of their daughters and daughters - in - law .
So why do u call him "Runer"?
Hadnt been brought up well...got to. Control his emotions..he is a failure
He could start with getting rid of his silly punk hat. Grow up dude.
I kinda quite like him. But he is a seriously unpleasant character.
something i will say with the utmost confidence about rune
he’s a good player but he’s a rice kid who has no control or care
he thinks he should be winning everything and he looks like a child
he needs to learn he won’t win everything no matter what
Boris could use a job tbh, and pay his taxes.
And NO, Àlex Corretja and Tim Henman are not tennis legends! They haven't even got one slam between them! Stop the hyperbole!
😢 awww
No his main mistake was being a homophobe
#wheresholger
ARROGANT , INFATUATED WITH HIMSELF TO SAY THE LEAST! Bad education. There areMANY OTHER YOUNG VERY TALENTED PLAYERS with nice, modest behavior , and wonderful character. No body miss Rune except his parents and relatives.
Maybe even his relatives are happy with him being away on the tour
The truth about Holger Rune , he will never win a Grand Slam , he was not even close to any semi final ...why ? Cause beside his awesome fitness and winning mentality he has limited shotmaking skills , sorry.
He has the nicest legs on tour.
