    With Becker his netgame is gonna get better (you already saw that on the ATP Finals) and he will grow a lot in 2024 in my opinion. And he is gonna mature through that as well for sure, looking forward to his evolution!

    I’m a huge Sinner fan but I may have un unpopular opinion… I’ve watched many Rune’s matches this year and I think that he has the most impressive technique and potential out of them 3 ( rune, sinner, alcaraz). If he can control his temper, he can really become a dangerous player

    Rune has improved in all of these aspects immensely in the past year. He is way more mature now, is definitely working on his physical issues, and has the mentality of a beast. I think with the new team he has built in the last months, he will rise. Wishing him the best for 2024. People need to start looking past his actions in the past and look more at his journey. Very interesting growth and explosive game out on the court. Let’s go Holger!

  • @gregoryphillips3969
    @gregoryphillips3969 10 месяцев назад +10

    Rune is a very talented player. The problem is that Sinner and Alcaraz are really tough. Mentally he has to be solid. Yes he has victories over top players but it's a matter of week in and week out consistency. On a given day he can beat anyone.
    Moratagulu is interesting because he knows how to market himself. If l am a player who is capable of winning grand slams, l go to Darren Cahill, Boris Becker, Brad Gilbert, or Brad Stine.

    I agree with your breakdown of the issues that are causing Rune to not win as much as his talent would suggest. everyone who wants to get inside the intensity & instability of being a tennis prodigy like HR should read Agassi’s memoir. basically, none of us can imagine the pressure, exhaustion, & confusion of a gifted adolescent in any field rising so fast. that said, thank god HR got rid of that conman Patrick & sought help from a real tennis player/coach. he now has to work on his court positioning and tactics, as we saw in the Dimitrov match. a seasoned player can still pull him up & back & get him out of court position, which is when he loses balance & shanks. he still slaps the ball more than strokes it (the way Carlos does & Sinner has learned to do). my basic point, his path to success is technical & tactical as much as emotional. i predict he’ll never win a GS but will hover in the top 10 for several years. he’ll win 5 m1000’s. he’ll be rich & happy. also, he’s gonna have bad injury problems. i like him.

    Rune is often simultaneously mentally pathetic & incredibly strong during the same match. He's super talented & I think he's a great player to watch so hoping for lots of success for him because to me he has more potential than anyone on tour save Alcaraz. Not a huge fan of his personality but he's still young & you can't like everyone all the time. I'm glad to see the good start he's had to the year, even though he lost that great final today to Dimitrov (love to see Dimi back to winning ways).
    I find it hard to take to Sinner's ball bashing playing style personally (even though he does seem to be trying to add drop shots & a net game in lately) & so I'm keen to see Rune do well, win multiple slams & have a super entertaining rivalry with Alcaraz for many years if all goes well.

      I think childish is an accurate description of what some people perceive in him as arrogance. Also, some of the cited abuse language on his part actually sounds peculiarly childish in Danish, devoid of typical or strong cursing words.

    I don’t think Rune will be strong on the outdoor hard court season in the beginning of the year. He will not win tournaments here, but do better from the clay season onwards. He is a great player (I’m Danish), but I think he does too much slow top spinning under pressure, which is a no go on hard court- you get punished by flatter/hard hitting players like Rublev, Alcaraz, Sinner. He needs to play flatter instead of all this transportation/defensive play that has been inserted in his game. I understand that everything has to be dosed for the circumstances(his physicallity still does not allow him full gas), but he lost to Dimitrov because he gave away the initiative (and was tired after dropping sets in the opening two matches). Becker will hopefully build stability so he can play a more dictating game based on improved volleying and his retuning skills, then he’ll be deadly at the end of the season. Let’s see if he makes it - also with a matured attitude mentally…

    Rune has just won a thrilling match against Dmitrov in Monte Carlo. Your boy Alcaraz couldn't even play because he overtrains and is frequently injured. Tsitsipas is doing really well but you probably haven't noticed. Your perfect player perception is so sad because it rules out everyone. Still waiting for a more balanced 'we need to talk about...' of Kyrgios but unless you do some research that's unlikely. You also haven't noticed that Kyrgios had serious wrist surgery eight months ago. Perhaps that's why you consider him too lazy to train?

    Holger was a brat… there are clips on RUclips of Holger calling an opponent a homophobic slur and the screaming he did to his mother during the rest period in a mstch. He sceamed at her til she left the stadium. He was awful but leads me to believe Mother Dearest is the problem… in this mix, they seem to have a toxic relationship… I am happy he is back with George, who seem to bring out the best in him , both tennis and attitude… but me thinks Mother dearest felt threaten. Who knows

    Most champions have a way of staying on an even keel in a long match. They keep their cool when it's going good AND going bad. Nadal, Federer, Djokovic & Murray all use the fist pump and a shout a few times per match but they, in general, keep an even keel and don't engage with their opponent. Rune is too up and down. I also don't think Becker is a great coach. Becker has a difficult time running his personal life and I think he needs a coach with a better head on his shoulders.

    His main mistake was he praised Novak for helping young players by giving advise and critized Roger and Nadal for not doing kind of thing that they should as their reputation before he got into top player. That upset many fans since Roger and Nadal are the most loved players and their fans hate Novak. So many fans put him in the lane of Novak beforhand. His personal outburst also helped to be badboy.
