He’s got the 10000gvw version. My 10800 f250 with the camper spring option has the 5 springs and beefier rear end like your 350. Advice for folks looking to tow, seek units that have the ultimate Tow package and the camper spring options. (10800gwv) Now for the controversial part, one can tow a trailer, very very light 5th wheel with a f150, but that is a very rare configuration. (payload gets you). A10,800 f250 can tow an 11k 5th wheel, but to your point a f350 srw would be much better, safer, and have excess available payload. Now if one is towing a 5th wheel weighing 14k or more .. then get the dually. My 2wd, 10.8k f250 shortie has 240lbs available payload when hitched to our 11k 5th wheel. (Cat scale weighed) F350 dually on order since we’re planning to upgrade our 5iver to a cougar midbunk soon
Just an FYI, adding springs to a 250 will not increase it’s official load capacity, which is really all that matters. It would only help carry the rated load better. I got a 250 because I wanted the drivetrain mostly.
Right, the "certified" weight is what Ford says it is. But if ALL parts are the same is there really a difference??? Ford takes some liability in adding more capabilities and as such adds $$$ to the price to cover that. That is the price difference between F250 and F350. Look at the "camper package " offered in the past. It literally was a $900 charge for nothing but a "certificate".
Cargo capacity on my 17 F-250 is only 2,100 pounds the F-350 is like double around double 4,100 pounds so towing a 5th wheel is way safer and you can tow way more.
My 96 and 2001 F350 was gas then my 2005 was diesel since then will never go back to gas , and since then 2008 , 2013 , 2016 all diesel. Plus my wife said l get another truck l would have a hard time driving it with 2 broken legs. Good video ARod thanks
Owned an 04 F250, added rear airbags to keep it up. When it came time to replace, made sure to get a F350. Gooseneck hauling will keep me in the 350 market
If I had to do it again, I would have gone with the F-350 considering the load on our truck with the travel trailer. But, I love my F-250. It works great for what we use it for and within load ranges. I added a leaf spring to the rear of my F-250 so the rear end sits slightly higher.
I have booth one more spring in the 350 booth have over load springs. In one of my f550 I put the biggest rear springs I could get. It rides better than it did because the over loads do not hit all the time. There are 3 spring options for a 550

Thanks to ARod I will be adding the duel rear wheel identification light bar as soon as it is in. Reason for getting the 350 vs 250...minimal cost and more capability.
Great info but why in the world are you covering your license plate. I never get why people make such a point to cover something that everyone sees as you drive down the road. 😂
Since 1988, I've owned six F350, crew cab diesel trucks. The cost difference between the F250 and F350 is minimal and I've never understood why Ford even bothers to make the F250.
@@IneptSoldier Where I live, registration costs are determined by actual weight of the truck and not GVW rating. This makes the registration cost difference negligible. If the registration is based on GVW rating, the cost difference would be more, but not a huge difference.

I can't speak for your trucks but if you have an older truck and you're living in Minnesota I have 250 put one ton axles and one ton springs on it. My 250 has seven spring pack in the back. But why do this because registration costs. Here in Minnesota it's a vast difference between a 3/4 ton which is the same as a half ton for 40 bucks a year. But a one ton and up 2 or 300 a year. I basically have a f350 it cost me almost 10 times less a year to register. And I have F350 badges. My truck is just as capable as a true f350. I have a Dana 60 in the front and I'm not sure what's in the back but it has full floating axles. I bought it this way and have no complaints 7.3.
