    I have a 23 f350 6.7L H.O. and have owned many Superdutys..If the engine temp is not up to around 150 degrees it runs at a reduced power output. And for some reason it really don't go until 3rd gear hits..
    Try all of that the next time and see the difference.

  • @johntaylor6340
    @johntaylor6340 11 месяцев назад +42

    Even if there wasnt a power difference I’d still go with the high output to get the benefits of the water cooled turbo. And better heat suited exhaust piping.

    • @zakche9548
      @zakche9548 11 месяцев назад +4

      Yep I second that water cooled turbo

    • @thelantard
      @thelantard 11 месяцев назад +5

      I tow a 5th wheel all the time and I agree, cooling that turbo would be very helpful. When my turbo is spooled hard for extended periods, my temps come up and the fan kicks in to manage it.

    • @trexthepony8614
      @trexthepony8614 5 месяцев назад +3

      Ugh. There both water cooled my friends. 6.7 use a duel cooling system. Secondary cools your intercooler and some other systems. Main works the egr engine and turbo.

    • @jabroni6199
      @jabroni6199 11 дней назад

      They’re both water cooled in the traditional sense. The HO also water cools the compressor side.

    Both trucks likely have significant torque management until a certain MPH and probably 3rd gear.

    You WILL notice a difference when using the 3.55 axel ratio especially when towing heavy with gooseneck. I own both. 3.31 and 3.55. The difference when taking off at a stop light while heavily loaded is noticeable. I tow cattle and hay and tractors on a 25’ gooseneck. I imagine adding the high output engine onto the 3.55 axels on a regular cab makes for a towing beast.

  • @germansaucedo4607
    @germansaucedo4607 11 месяцев назад +10

    In my personal opinion, these trucks are not for “flexing” hp but used to haul big trailers with a load 😂 and with this video it would be more entertaining if it was a video pulling a trailer with a load to see the difference from the HO to the regular 6.7 🤔

    The high output is only worth considering on a 350 or 450 dually that is run primarily as a towing rig. The standard engine is fine for >99% of people's needs.

      The HO 6.7 is worth it in any SD application. It's worth it if you want the HO option. Heck, is the 6.7L really needed in most applications? No, but damn it's nice to have. Then there is the resale factor.

    I just took delivery on a 2024 F350 SRW with the HO, and there is a noticeable difference compared to the standard 6.7 having previously owned 3 of prior year models. I think the 25 extra benjamins is worth the bigger water jacketed turbo and SS exhaust headers. What's another 2500 on a hundred grand for the extra umph? Extra power is a no brainer.

      Awesome video ? He has absolutely no idea what he is talking about as usual. And the end statement where he says the Tremor comes standard with the diesel is a flat out lie, the standard engine is the 7.3 gasser.

  • @Captain-Awesome
    @Captain-Awesome 10 месяцев назад +2

    The part that you are missing is about the character of the Man purchasing these trucks. We don’t always want to work and between work and sleeping we like to play. TFL was racing the HO Power Stroke against a Mustang GT!! You can’t do that in most trucks. Frankly many half ton trucks today are also fast. It’s about the truck that puts a smile on your face. Like a Raptor, mine doesn’t see off road work but it does zip around town.

  • @mikedowling3569

    Couple of things… I think you have a choice on the Tremor pkge. (I.e. not forced to go H.O.) for ‘24 & what about the differences in axle ratios. Which would be the best overall for towing 50% of the time?

  • @Sboizify
    @Sboizify 28 дней назад +1

    475 vs 500...not probably going to notice on acceleration. They're both fast as hell for big trucks lmao

  • @zakche9548
    @zakche9548 11 месяцев назад +2

    You need to do a long distance drive to spot the difference...I preferred the high output but I tried it without the lift was pretty tense when you step on it...just try long distance or the highway. Be safe.

    The only reason I got the HO on my 23 F250 is because it wasn’t an option not to for the Tremor package on the 23.
    I had the 22 F250 Tremor with the regular 6.7 and it was great.
    I would recommend getting the HO to anyone ordering a 6.7 because there is a noticeable difference in response and it just flies. It really is a joy to drive. Also the water cooled turbo is nice for longevity (assuming Ford) has it right)

    Payload is really good on these for being non gassers...ford should ditch the 3.31 gears on all pickups f150 and up 3.55 should be the minimum. 3.31 is a waste with 275 or 285 size tires.

      But, that doesn't get you the 'water' cooled turbo that the HO gets. Although I do agree, you could add a tuner to increase power of reg 6.7. It's a beast either way! Can't wait to get one....someday. 🤔👍😉
