I'm not 100% sure the liquid cooled compressor housing is for lowering IATs. I don't see that the dwell time in the housing is going to be sufficient for lowering IATs a meaningful amount, not to mention its going to have 200 degree water circulating from it. It would be much easier to add a slightly better intercooler. I believe it has more to do with making the turbocharger last longer. My other theory is to help maintain more consistent temps of the compressor housing, which would minimize expansion and tighter clearances between the compressor wheel and housing.
You on spot-on with your 2nd theory.
I love my 23 ho super duty. I've had three rams and for the first time, I love a truck. I can't imagine this truck tuned.
@cnetate Thanks for sharing your opinion!
Dude, you and me both have a 23 super duty with the HO, and unlike you, I haven’t owned any trucks before, but I’ve driven several and This is by far the most comfortable and fun and purposeful vehicle I’ve driven. The power pulling 28,000 pounds behind me uphill, is unmatched for the stock pick up trucks. I Hotshot with my F450, so I took the bed off and put a CM truck bed Hotshot bed on it and a 91 gallon fuel tank
@cnetate I just ordered mine this week hopefully it will be built and delivered by july.ive driven almost every diesel from the 80s to present and I was very impressed with the h.o .
@@polarbear5740I’m considering ordering another F-250 but don’t want to wait a year. Are they building them in just a few months?? You said you would hopefully have yours by July, so I was just wondering.
@@chadgardnerdds3197 I placed my order on May 9th and I just got an update yesterday that said they would start building on July 18th but that could change. My dealer told me 2 to 3 months on average I got the lariat. I don't know if you order a higher trim level if it takes longer not or if the parts are all available.
I have a few buddys that have the Ford 10 speed and they love it. One of my buddys just got a 23 HO as well and he walks away from me. Granted, I have a 2017 with the 6 speed and like 300 ft lbs less torque. I already talked to you guys about a tune but I'm afraid since Ford have me a other extended warranty due to my upper oil pan leak for the 3rd time. Anyway, this truck is a beast and I'm envious of my friends that have the 10 speed vs my 6 speed when we're towing to the desert up grades.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience @jasonkubitz9410
I was VERY skeptical of the 10 speed but it was all I could get in ‘21. I pull 15-20k lbs weekly in Louisiana heat on old country roads to stop & go traffic to the interstate. 72k miles and zero problems. I’m impressed, and the transmission is so smooth. You never feel it shift.
So when are you going to have the ECM unlocked so you can tune it? Especially for the 550 platform??
Love the videos! Got a chuckle… Comment "Ford a little Gotti, chrome bling with Super Duty Branded" being stated while wearing DuraMaxed Branded High Reflective (chrome) sunglasses. Just Razing… enjoyed the Open Honest Information on the HO 6.7.
Gaudy. Not Gotta. Gaudy. Re: “extravagantly bright or showy, typically so as to be tasteless”.
@@wyo_garage20 auto correct got us both eh… I didn’t type "gotta". My Gotti was meant to be Gaudy, and iPhone corrected. Anyway, the humor comment was the point and content was understandable.
@@dougcjohn Haha no worries. And damn I even looked mine over before hitting send!
Other References on 10 speed: GM 10L vs Ford 10R series indicate Ford is more robust internally.
@dougcjohn Where did you get your info from?
@@Duramaxtuner I'd have to re-explore to be certain of sources. Basically a mixed group of sources giving the same information, reinforcing the same conclusion. Several RUclipss of Transmission Techs that have repaired / taken down both units, showing the comparison and pointing to various areas of differences. They've shown and indicated the size of 10R components over the 10L, splines, drums, etc, are more substantial on the 10R. Other sources included, Ford Engineers, I'm thinking I found a discussion with an Allison Rep or Engineer... all stating the 10R was made more robust.
@@dougcjohn Thank you for the info!
I've owned both GM and Ford trucks. I know it's subjective, but I have to say, the Ford interior from 1999 to 2007 is so cheap and plain. Even the Lariet trim reminds me of a stripped down International work truck interior. 2008 to current, pretty nice.
Thanks for sharing your opinion with us @Asamccp
Thats like very ironic to say Chevys interiors are pretty cheap as well
Ford interior last the longest and I own both
Diesel babbbyy
I hate the Ford 10 speed in my F-150 3.5 Eco-Boost. I'd rather have a 6 speed or?
We hear it a lot both ways. It really is just preference and how you utilize the truck.
I had a 2021 Ford F-350 7.3 V8 with 4.30 gear. That thing shifted like complete crap 💩! One time I lost reverse and the wrench 🔧 icon came on and said bring to dealer . I had to turn it off and reboot it like a computer. It only shifted good towing a load. It’s gone replaced it with a Ram 2500 8 speed so much better! That 10 speed is Junk!
20 inch screen? 😂 wtf!
Throw it on the dyno! Ram still has the best interior though
😂😂
@wyo_garage20 Ram definitely has one of the top interiors on the market, but we're really loving the interior of this 2024 Cab and Chassis we have in the shop right now. Very high end feel.
Can’t beat the comfort of Platinum & Limited. At 6’8", Ford is the best for comfort and layout… and huge open sunroof
