I have seen Phantom on the stage 3 times, but I’ve never seen this- Amazing!! You need to watch a stage performance of Phantom- it is life changing. 💯✌️

I love this song from the Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera movie, but this version blows that away. The angelic voice of a soprano singing is the most beautiful thing to hear.

Welcome to dive into a Nightwish rabbit hole. There's a lot to take in! 😄The singer on this video was their 1st one, Tarja. Actually, she got fired after this gig. But the present singer, Floor Jansen, who is Dutch, is sooo great, too.

This is 2005 with there 1st singer Tarja Turnunen and it was the last time they played this until 2022 when Nightwish did it one more time with there current singer Floor Jansen . If I may suggest you check out the new version of this .

This seems like it would be a total shock to the system if you don’t know the song or the musical it is from, lol. I have the dvd w/Emmy Rossum & Gerard Butler & have seen the film many times, so I can hear what the basis for the song was & how Night Wish has changed it. I actually liked it quite a lot, which surprises me because I usually prefer the way I heard it first, lol. But they really added a lot of energy to the song & I was impressed.
Basic story of the musical is disfigured man hides in the basement of the Paris Opera House, falls in love w/a chorus girl, demands the new owners make her the star of the show or he’ll kill them. She is hypnotized by him (this song) but is saved by a young soldier/nobleman & it’s all very dramatic & sad, lol. Worth watching if you think you’d enjoy it. 👍👍😄
There's a "New" rendition by them from 2022(Live at Amsterdam ft. Henk Poort) on Utuub universe with a different lead vocalist, Floor Jansen. A Dutch singer who is one of the most versitile female vocalist of our time.
Highly recommed to check that out... It's not 'that Heavy", yet it stays on the parameters of Nightwish.

Tarja (TAR YA) is first NW singer, less default to rock or metal, and more default to Opera, than Floor, altho both can do Opera when they wish. Floor does more classical and rock, metal singing than Tarja's Opera and classical. PRO RXER TIP: do NOT wade into who is better, will get a stronger debate than comparing Floor to Amy Lee of Evanescence, which I highly recommend against as well

I'm sorry, but I don't like this version nearly as much as the most recent version with Floor Jansen and Henk Port, who is the singer from the stage production of Phantom. Would love to see you react to that version
