It's disappointing to see how game development has progressed from genuine passion to seeking most profitability it's very clear nowadays how sloppy game devs have become
It's sad to see how rapidly the technology for gaming has advanced, but at the same rate most development companies have only gone down in quality of products; I can't imagine a single big release in the past few years that didn't have some kinda flaw that kept it from being a great game, many of which getting "fixed" retroactively instead of having that additional quality upon release

The moment Chet Faliszek said near the end "And it'll be quality" just broke my heart because very few game developers are even remotely allowed to care about that stuff nowadays. You mostly see it in some indie games because they're their own boss, they don't have to answer to none but themselves so they are able to work on everything for as long as they want to make sure it's working. But pretty much every Triple A game company now has a board of directors who don't even know shit about the games they're in charge of and just want the revenue, so they make their developers rush games to get that quick buck, forcing them to not give the project any passion or extra care to ensure it's good enough.

    The reason Valve makes such amazing games every single time is because they have the mindset of;
"The fans are the reason we exist"
Because they understand this, they spend more time catering to the expectations of fans and making sure that their products have time, effort, and passion pumped into them. Those are the three ingredients to a good game. Even a small indie dev team can do this.
It's mostly just sad that all the big AAA companies have degraded so much because they know their IP's legacy will make them money. That's especially true for COD and Halo.
It's just about money these days. I wish it were different, but that's not how capitalism works.
I mostly just look forward to releases from small game devs these days. At least those devs aren't in it for money.. yet.
Here's some games I'm waiting for:
    ARK 2
    Silksong
    Hytale
    Sons of The Forest
These are all 2023 except for Hytale, which I anticipate the most. They're sort of pulling a Valve and spending as much time as possible to make a game that will meet and even exceed all expectations, which is what I like about small teams like Hypixel Studios. Even when it comes to less technologically impressive valve games like Dota 2, I don't think any company can approach their functional style. Their sound design for example is unparalleled. I can hear any ability, attack sound, or item noise with a blindfold on and tell you what's happening on screen. They aren't as flashy as other studios, but every game asset will be tailored to be immediately recognizeable.

Another thing I don't understand is why people think the game's dead or something. Like sure, it doesn't have the playerbase CSGO or Apex Legends has but the game isn't dead at all. You don't even have to queue up or make a lobby to play, you just find a match and start playing. It has official servers, it has community servers, there's even community servers with a COMPETITIVE game mode called Zonemod or Confogl, which are used in tournaments or scrims and you will always find good, experienced players if you want a challenge. I would like people to play and stop thinking they're gonna be waiting 30 minutes for a match because there is people who still play it regularly

maybe i was too young or maybe i, like alot of people didnt notice the tiny details that had countless hours spend thinking up, writing, coding, etc. But l4d 1&2 had so much soul poured into it, and (this line's been used alot but) "games these days" are just lacking in alot of quality and good gameplay, whether its due to greed or trying to save a buck, just makes games really boring. Developers like Puppet Combo and similar developers make horror games with "ps3 graphics" so they can focus less on glitches and special effects or trying to implement expensive animations or whatever and focus on making the gameplay and levels more in depth and an better experience. (along with them being small indie game developers where they arent some big company trying to shave off money for their budget)
Also, it just pissed me off so much watching this when it came out and seeing how these 4 or 5 scumbags use l4d's name to promote their shitty knock-off game that is honestly, just a cashgrab, and back when Gaben when developing/promoting l4d2 said "one of the concerns that were raised is; what's different enough about l4d2 to justify it being a good enough sequel?" - "and doing anything we could to make sure our fans, who are the reason we exist, understood why l4d2 was a really positive evolution, rather than us just trying to come up with a way of stripping money out of a successful and popular game" which just goes to show how much we took for granted back then and how scummy developers nowadays are, they had a small part of the print in the credits of an amazing and massively popular game and wanted to cling to that title that gave them the tiniest bit of fame/wealth. (if it even did with how small a part they played)

Not having a perk deck was what made L4D leagues better than B4B.
Once I played the beta, got annoyed with the card system. That was it for me.
    😂
Sounds petty, but that move alone was enough to tell me what direction this game was going in.

It is, in my opinion, much less about lazy devs and more about greedy management, not wanting to spend more money on all those stuff, that made L4D great. And those are the majority in game market. That's why Valve and a tiny bit of other game studios, were the only ones that did it.

I cant belive that a game older than me is better than a game realeased in (2020? Or 2022idk) l4d will never be beaten, it was my first fps game ever played i was 6 and playing l4d 1 and did "The Sacrifice" mission for so long cus i couldnt understand how to do the mission but internet told me how and then i noticed on my family computer there was l4d2 and UNTIL NOW im still in love with ELLIS dudeee such a cool fricking character to use, And then CS 1.6 arrived to my eyes (fyi all this games is just in my dads desktop so im free to open it) and i got addicted to it like everytime i went home i just played and played and played but school just kept getting harder and i couldnt play it anymore. Ye im just sharring my good times
