What if the reaper does damage and you have to repair. Is it possible if you put the shield on you could swim out and repair without the reaper being able to hit you?
The shield is probably cyclops specific. And even if it worked the power drain is still disgusting. Its better shut the engine down and wait for mr reaper to leave so you can repair right after. There is no need to hurry when it comes to reparing 1 hole as the small leak wont fill up the cyclops at all thanks to the draining system
@@theawesomegames Aight. Let me nerd around here. 1. if you look left from your steering wheel you can see all the larves that are on the cyclops and where they are. I suggest making a sweep when at least 4 are on. 2. If you have the thermal charger it can combat the power loss. 3. There is a hole somewhere in the inactive lava zone that connects to the lava zone. That hole is free from larve so you can thermal charger there. 4. If you don't have time to clean em yourself and you want to regain your speed (as lava larve also reduce the cyclops speed) you can turn on the shield generator on for 1 second to knock em all off.
Yes, all the things in this video works for every threat in the game. Watch your sound bubble, go silent running and shut the engine off when he gets too close or if you get hit.
Another option is.........rrrrrraaaaaammmmmiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg ssssssssppppppeeeeedddddddd!!!!! Many animals in subnautica have the skin of a jelly fish so slamming into something hard enough will cause considerable damage.
Never actually tried that, though i do know the cyclops will take dmg from ramming as well, even though its shield health will absorb the first few hits.
@@variacraft8237 I have used it many times and its amazing how effective it can be. In a way you may have already done it but not realized it. The smaller fish when you hit them die pretty quickly. Even much larger fish are quite vulnerable if something hits them with repeat attack. The sea moth if you upgrade the armor enough can be used like a canon ball to smash into everything that is a threat. The trick to ramming leviathans is getting in the hit box but not close enough to where they trigger the mouth attack. Similar to attacking with the prawn suit. You can also slam into them from behind. I use a similar strategy with the sea truck in below zero to take out anything that is an annoyance to me. Hit the gas hard and slam into it like train with a cow in the way. Typically the damage is not that bad and even leviathans will run away from you pretty quick if you hit them hard enough.
that's actually quite interesting except for one thing. I don't hurt creatures in subnautica cuz they're just too beautiful. But yes i have in fact killed a load of small fish this way including one in this video. I also murdered a bone shark who decided it was a good idea to swim up as soon as i went down so i couldn't avoid him😂
It's quite practical indeed especially compared to the shield. Just taking a hit can also work really well though, as you are not limited to the amount of decoys and fixing it is quite easy
@@sulaimmali2649 if you turn off the engine with the propeller button, it won't use any power, unless you use mashines inside it. If you're talking about lava larve this can be a good idea, but remember there is a hole in the lava zone that leads to the active lava zone. I there you will not face larve so you should be fine.

@@variacraft8237 I once watched a blind playthrough where someone hand deployed a creature decoy. Knowing how the creature AI works this is kinda funny. They come in so late in the game, they're hardly worth it except in your Seamoth, Prawnsuit, and Seaglide for running around for resources to escape the planet. very informative, and you made me laugh!
how do you not get the efficiency module before cyclops.
just go to the aurora and grap it
I’ve seen people put off aurora for ages and go into the LR and such first it’s not unheard of
interesting video. Good job!
I wish the seemoth could go deeper . Because leviathans have a big turning circle and with your seemothe you can just swimm in a circle around them and they can not get you
@@lian2280 I love doing that as well! It does help that the moth can at least make it to the lost river. Also, three sea dragons don't actually charge at you so I never really felt like I needed the seamoth personally
I just don't care about leviathans in my cyclops. Reapers and ghost leviathans do like zero damage. I've taken more damage from a single ampeel than having 2 reapers on me at once.
@@nobody-fe2yk that reminds me of something that happend to me while recording this. My cyclops became invincible for a moment! Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/UwEMuybBtPk/видео.htmlsi=6Qm1AUR-VCEhmKY0
This video helped me feel better about going deeper. Does this work with other leviathans as well? I’m about to go into the lost river for the first time and I’m terrified of getting stuck down there haha
@@bskwair3597 the tips with the reaper works against any creature that can damage the cyclops. If it doesn't show up on the radar, it's not strong enough to deal damage to the cyclops. Good luck😁
Oh Yeah! bud!..good stuff !!👍😆👍😎👍
I know he said no mods, but if you are able to mod then theres's mods like more cyclops upgrades that allow you to add a whole new 6 slots to your upgrade consle, and another 6 slots, and another 6 slots you get the point so you can have tons of efficiency if you can mod, but it requires tons of materials edit: also your saying i can just turn off my cyclops engine and then a ghost will stop attacking me
Thx for the tips really use full I'm hoping to go to the lost river
Useful video was useful. Thank you!
3:27 be aware where you swim my buddy
What if the reaper does damage and you have to repair. Is it possible if you put the shield on you could swim out and repair without the reaper being able to hit you?
The shield is probably cyclops specific. And even if it worked the power drain is still disgusting. Its better shut the engine down and wait for mr reaper to leave so you can repair right after. There is no need to hurry when it comes to reparing 1 hole as the small leak wont fill up the cyclops at all thanks to the draining system
What players dont knows
1. Bubble makes sense
2. Shield generator is an actualy game changer
It really is for busting through a threat if you need to get past!
Great info
I really wanted a tip to help with lava larva because they always suck all my power away and i hate finding them all. Do you have a tip for that?
@@theawesomegames
Aight.
4. If you don't have time to clean em yourself and you want to regain your speed (as lava larve also reduce the cyclops speed) you can turn on the shield generator on for 1 second to knock em all off.
does this work on ghost leviathans? I dont have a clue as to how to traverse the lost river without getting attacked
Yes, all the things in this video works for every threat in the game. Watch your sound bubble, go silent running and shut the engine off when he gets too close or if you get hit.
how do i avoid crab squids in the cyclops?
I personally like to just stay far away from them or use silent running when i need to get close.
They are attracted to light. Turn off all lights, run sonar, but only for the time to get by them.
This crazy game! 🙈😼👍
I also murdered a bone shark who decided it was a good idea to swim up as soon as i went down so i couldn't avoid him😂
I normally use two creature decoys and full speed to get away it’s safer and uses less power.
It's quite practical indeed especially compared to the shield. Just taking a hit can also work really well though, as you are not limited to the amount of decoys and fixing it is quite easy
For food and water plant a garden in your cyclops!
Yea, that's a great one to do as well! I even have it some additional plants for decoration.
If I am not using cyclops, Can I keep it someplace safe and remove all the cells ? so that the cells will not be depleted.
Make a video about the inside of your cyclops bro I want to get ideas from you.
Glad to hear you like my desighn! Actually my most recent video has a full tour around my cyclops, so feel free to check out the channel😁 it's called cyclops odyssey and the tour can be found using the video chapters
Does this mean that if I stand still on the lost river the ghost will simply ignore my existence?
@@ArthurBrPro If you turn your cyclops engine off the ghost leviathan will not aggro on you, yes.
Yo thanks, i never knew about these stuff but does the cyclops shield protect only the front of the whole submarine?
All around it, full invulnerability. Though keep in mind it drains a lot of power.

How did you guys not know? You thought silent running and slow modes had no purpose what so ever?
@@John-du2mq my idea was to showcase the sound bubble that visualizes the effects of those things so you can see how close you can actually get to a threat without danger.
Good stuff
Well done!
who even needs decoy tubes
I actually agree with that especially if you have the shield generator as well. I have never used a single decoy in my entire career lol. But of course everyone can use whatever they prefer.
@@variacraft8237 I once watched a blind playthrough where someone hand deployed a creature decoy. Knowing how the creature AI works this is kinda funny.
Even if the creature decoy worked tbh I wouldn't have room for the upgrades between depth, shield, thermal charge efficiency fire suppression and sonar.
@@JadeIsBunny yea. I also don't have any of the upgrade though i do have 1 decoy in the launcher since... Forever 😅
I don't bother with the cyclops. It's too glitchy. Every cyclops I've ever built has gliched out and been unusable after about 2 hours of use.
@@Valrin7236 oof. That's a bummer. Bugnautica remains a problem to some lol. I wonder what exactly happened though?

@@GargantuanGouda this was actually my thought a couple weeks ago since this one is pretty slow lol. Might be a good idea for when i make a new tip video.
Use ion Batteries
That really helps out a lot!
They come in so late in the game, they're hardly worth it except in your Seamoth, Prawnsuit, and Seaglide for running around for resources to escape the planet. By the time you get them, you likely have an extra set of powercells and the thermal charger for the Cyclops and they almost become moot. Really wish they would've introduced them, and a good source for Ion Cubes, right at the Alien Research Facility already.
Or grind for 20 decoys and finish the game with decoys.
@@rPenek that's actually a decent plan as well. It's nice that they're are multiple ways to play the game.

why is your power not going down?
@@LEGENDARYTACTICALTECH Ohh sharply spotted! The power does in fact go down but some of the recorded clips were not actually recorded in the same order as the order you see them in. Ion batteries also help a lot when it comes to the shield generator usage part.
@@variacraft8237 One more thing. I found all 9 lifepods. Found lots of metal parts etc. the radio light has not come on in a long time. I searched the island and the tall alien structure. am I basically done with the game? if so, below zero here I come. thx
@@LEGENDARYTACTICALTECH I have good news for you: the games is definitely not over! The simple tip is to go deeper, but maybe try going deeper throuw the lost river(green foggy cave). Entrances to the lost river can be found at blood kelp areas or blue floating orbs. You will need your seamoth to be able to make it to 900 meters though.
