This happends a lot lately, developers publish bad sequels to their previous games, with way worse graphics and details. It's sad. It's like they gave up.
at this point, executives are focusing to exploit the consumers. as long it give alot of attention and decent sales, it will most likely go skyrocket and meanwhile they slowly fix bugs as the game progress. they purely release unfinished games so that they can earn money earlier. but in battlefield case, they were fking around and rushing everything
@@bloodnessx It's not as much developpers than big executives. It's not like devs earn money on every micro-transaction. Developpers are told what to do, they're just paid employees. Short term gains are more important to investors than having a good reputation or a long standing fanbase. That's why indie games have gotten better in quality while triple A is dying.

It happens because devs see the state either the game or their team is in and then the executive team comes in and says things that don't match reality and then sell that fake reality to the public. This would annoy anybody. However, the cherry on top: the pressure on the team goes from, "things are progressing but we need more time to iron things out" to "holy shit, literally impossible!" Game releases next month. Devs crack under the pressure. They get understandably frustrated by management that is at odds with them (don't forget the insane stress) and quit. Like imagine working at a creative job and having all of your ideas shot down. You'd get frustrated. Then the next game is even worse because talent takes time to develop. You can't just replace talent to develop a brand new game. Maintain one? Sure, but not new games. You don't become a top tier dev team overnight. It takes at least 1 game before the team "gets good".

People don't realize, the Devs that created Apex have been gone for 3 and a half years. The ones that weren't pulled off the game to work on Star Wars after it's launch, were fired. They've been running the incompetent skeleton crew since. Almost every studio has done this in the last 8 years. To a crippling level. That's why none of the issues are fixed. Some are just delayed for a season or two until they come back bugged stronger than ever.
EA released these broken unfinished games and make billions of dollars every year: Battlefield 5, Battlefield Hardline, Battlefront 2, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Battlefield 2042, etc.
And the devs will take all the heat.
Lots of fuckery going on with higher ups, especially them not wanting to pay devs for overtime and hindering the development by having the team scrap months worth of work for no good reason.
Yeah but EA just doesn't give af and their higher ups are very disconnected from reality. 20 devs with 10+ years in their company leaving because of creative freedom restrictions should tell you something, like how it doesn't ring a bell that you're going downhill with these policies.

Yeah you can't even blame so much the developers they were given a difficult task to start with, and barely any time to perform it, after EA decided to change the entire game halfway through development

this was one of the few videos when X didn't say "I bought 100 of them" after skipping the ad, because it was about hairloss
God the crazy part is I never encountered any of those bugs and still haven't because they've all been fixed now. My friends were calling me crazy and I even streamed the game on discord for hours and they were baffled. I was having a blast at launch. Only thing that upset me were the lack of classes and weapons, poor optimization. I was only able to get like 90fps on low. now I get 120 on Low 5600x 3060ti. Never encountered the weird bullet spread people talked about and only hitreg issues I saw were rockets doing nothing to vehicles.

For the longest time after launch I had the power to freeze people. Every time I went to backstab them I would do the animation to the air and they would end up all bent up but still alive. I could kill them after that but sometimes I wouldn’t. I’d come back after 5 minutes and I still see them all bent up by a bush 😊
I think if all the engine devs leave, the next update of the engine requires a permanent suffix add on to it, in this particular case, it's so you tell the difference between a functional engine and ABSOLUTE FAILURE

Sad for a swedish guy grown up having DICE located in my town Stockholm. You could be going on play testing early on at the office and getting free games etc, and as the GIGACHAD kid like i was somehow i was always sick for school those days since it was when the devs were working during monday-friday .(crazy guy here i know).
It was cool having it as something we could be proud of like when they released frostbite and stuff. Legit given up totally on EA at this point or honestly since a long time ago now.
Big Boss is definently one of the only good RUclips only creators left on the platform in my opinion, also definently one of the best youtubers on the platform at the moment in my opinion, i started watching him back in 2020 and he literally dosen't miss these days.
hes a cheap rip off of interner historian. hsi style of narration, timing, jokes, editing, literally all the same. He doesn't try to make it original in the slightest. people can say "oh hes just similar" but look at martincitopants, he has similar editing style but different humor. I just really want to live in that one possible reality where 2042 came out, it had levelution like 4, gunplay like 3, a huge massive locker of weapons we know today but reimagined with a 2042 touch, but alas, honestly I just hate that they dropped the ball on a modern one, because I was tired of WW1 and WW2, but I loved the games. I’m honestly surprised you didn’t bring up the alpha for the game. Not even sure if I’m allowed to say this, but EA offered exclusive alpha access to some players who sign up for their early access thing. I was lucky enough to get in for the Battlefield 2042 alpha and signed up to play it on PS5. Come around to when the alpha was supposed to happen, they cancelled the alpha for consoles (big foreshadowing) and didn’t offer for me to play it on PC. Was super bummed out as I was gonna invite my friends over to check out the game, and was sorely disappointed.
BF4 is still an amazing game and you can get all DLC dirt cheap I recommend everyone at least tries it out.

You’d wish that these scenarios would make companies realize they need to value letting their developers work a bit more freely and make compromises to make sure the same devs stay for a long time. Since it has a huge effect on the results of the sequels. I personally never think we will get another “battlefield” not like the good old days.
