you can but if the PC is using all the resources say even if you have RTX 4090 gaming pc and install the external capture card its already like gaming using all the resources on the PC gaming then you're forcing it to record as well some point it might struggle so why not build another micro ATX or mini ITX , even if you can afford another ATX secondary PC setup that for Recording or Streaming
