    Just to note, if you have a higher resolution/refresh rate monitor, but a capture card that ONLY supports 1080p60fps, Windows can now support display cloning downsampling.
    For example, if you have a 1440p240hz monitor, but then a 1080p60fps capture card, you can clone your main monitor (1440p240hz) to your 1080p60fps capture card, and WIndows will automatically take that 1440p video signal, and downscale it to 1080p. Your main monitor will remain unaffected and will stay at 1440p, rather than changing to 1080p.
    WIth recent NVIDIA and WIndows updates, it does will no longer use the lower refresh rate. Each display (in this case, the main monitor and the capture card) will run on their respective refresh rates! Passthrough is almost not needed anymore, assuming you have a good enough computer to handle display cloning!

      @yenu Год назад +1

      @@MishaThePunk it depends on your computer configuration.
      The way display duplication/cloning works is that it renders video on the main monitor, but then sends that same (already rendered) data to the cloning monitor.
      It shouldn't affect your performance too much, if at all, if you have a decent enough computer.

    here's my biggest issue with my setup when i want to switch to a dual PC setup
    all of my monitors use display port, and i have 3 monitors, some of my streams involve me using all 3 monitors in OBS at once, so how do i do that
    i was thinking i could clone all 3 of my display ports to the 1 HDMI port and send that to the second computer somehow, but i don't know
    please help me solve this, i don't have the option of getting a new graphics card or a new monitor
    and i have to do all of this WITHOUT the NVidia control panel, because it just doesn't want to work

    Unless you have the GoXLR or Banana running on the recording PC, I don't see how you record to separate audio tracks? Since the only cable connecting the PCs is the HDMI, the HDMI only supports one audio stream and it is going to combine ALL audio into one track. right?
    your voice, your game audio, your discord buddies on their own channel and if you have other PC in the same room playing recording, you would need another Elgatoo and sound card to keep the audio separate. If you don't separate ALLLLL those audio channels then you are going to end up with one audio channel and its extremely hard to edit out audio you don't want, especially when multiple sounds are going off at the same time.

    Thing is when you clone the display then the main monitor of the gaming pc looks a bit washed out or like the quality has dropped. What about that?

      I don't notice this issue. My settings go over just as their supposed to be. What capture card are you using?

    • @EGOS42
      @EGOS42 Год назад

      Are you using HDR on your display? Most cards are unable to capture 10 or 12 bit HDR. Your Graphics card may be able to sense that the capture card cannot accept HDR and would send a standard dynamic range conversion as the clone output which typically looks very gray and washed out.
      If that's not it you may have a mismatch between full range RGB and limited range RGB. This setting is part of standard dynamic range separate from HDR. Full uses black levels from 0-255, lmited values from 16-235. Ideally you'll be using full range on your GPU and monitor. Even if you are using limited on both of those you need to look at the settings for your capture card to ensure it matches what the gaming PC is outputting.

      You would have to connect your sound cards together with a 3.5mm male to male cable. Go from the recording PC line out to the gaming PC line in on your sounds cards.

    Nice quality vid. Thanks for making these vids.
    I do have one issue that I am driving myself nuts over, is there a way to split game audio from mic audio so that they are not mixed into 1 input in OBS?
    I'm trying to figure out how to have Voicemod on a 1 mic setup with goxlr dual pc setup with all audio split in obs so that Game Audio doesn't pick up my regular mic mixed into it and Voicemod stacked over it. In example: 2 voices stack over eachother.
    I have 2 pc's, goxlr, lgc2 for gaming monitor and I can't figure this out for the life of me.
    I can get voicemod to work great if I am capturing Ps5 with my streaming pc as obs will recognize 2 different inputs. One being the ps5 game audio and the other input being Voicemod. I'm at a loss for figuring it out for dual pc setup.

    • @RAVisuals
      @RAVisuals  Год назад +1

      This is something I really want to solve for my own setup too. I want to use voicemod on my mic and also separate the music and game audio so I can get the music out of recording if I want. Im gonna have to go down a rabbit hole to figure it out, for sure!

      I found on the Voicemod site that they have a guide for dual pc setup using Voicemeeter Potato, virtual cable, and Vban.
      I have heard that Voicemeeter sometimes does not play nice with the Go xlr.
      I have no experience using any of the software mentioned so I can't say for myself.
      Well thanks for the reply and down the rabbit hole we go!!
      I'm sure you will nail it and teach us!!
