to be clear, the capture card installed in the streaming PC and not the gaming PC? one HDMI OUT from the gaming video card, goes to the IN port of capture card, a second OUT from gaming video card to gaming monitor, are you using the OUT from capture card at all? does OBS just recognize the source since it's installed to the PCI-E slot with input from gaming PC?
Thanks for helping me understand simply with your diagram that it IS best to have your webcam/cam on your streaming PC instead of your gaming PC. Nice setup! Thinking about getting back into streaming. Used to run a dual pc setup via NewTek NDI (sending my video/audio over an OBS plugin via ethernet lan) but might try a capture card since I have a go xlr as well now!
Please please please I need to see both pc's sound configuration on the sound control panel. I am having a hard time making same set up work. I obviously set mine up differently but you seem to have a better set up.
Wow That is exactly almost of what I have some similar components but this is exactly what I want to do man. Thank God I ran across through your videos.
what's the benefit to having the goxlr usb go to the streaming pc and not the gaming pc? a lot of other videos say to put the goxlr to the gaming pc and not the streaming.. what is the difference other then discord stuff? is this how you can split audio when recording? because i have mine setup the same way as yours and its impossible for me to split my mic audio/game audio/music and so on because everything is ran from just one line... being the line in. i really wanna figure out how i can have all these separate for when i go edit on adobe
I think you'd need a different mixer or software to split all of those channels if you want them separated like you're saying. The goxlr splits the channels so you can control them independently while streaming, but for recordings, you kind of have to be aware that they are all coming to your streaming PC via the line in. it works for my setup and what I do
This video was very helpful! How would the audio work and where do you plug the cables if you don’t have a goxlr and using a usb mic instead to talk to chat and using a headset mic for game chat?
I'm contemplating going down the rabbit hole of building a Streaming PC (have a bunch of spare parts sitting around). My main issue is with the monitor setup. Right now, I have 3 monitors running off of display ports on my main PC. I saw in some of your other videos you have the toggle on your ultrawide which goes in between the gaming PC view and streaming PC view. Without purchasing that monitor, is there a way to send output of both pc's into a switch box and plug that into the 3rd monitor? I was thinking it would be mobo HDMI output (gaming PC) in, capture card output (streaming PC) into a switchbox then toggle, but haven't spent the money yet haha.
I noticed that there are a lot of cables in this setup. I plan on replicating something like this and want to know if most of the cables are included with the products or if I have to buy some. For example, does the 2 3.5mm aux cable come with the go xlr, or do I need to buy 2 3.5mm aux cable. Same thing for the hdmi cables and usb cables. Thanks.
Most of the products come with the required cables but depending on your setup, you may need to purchase longer ones. Also, no. The goXLR does not come with the 3.5mm cables. You have to buy those separate unfortunately 😥
RA thanks for the vid man! That simple photo really made it easy to set this stuff up. I’ve come across one issue though. For some reason my OBS studios isn’t picking up the audio from my gaming pc. I can hear sound from both my streaming pc and my gaming pc individually and at the same time, but OBS isn’t picking it up? Im assuming that’s an OBS setting, right? Any idea? Appreciate your help brother
Hey man! Thanks a ton for the love on the picture, It took my forever to make, haha. Also regarding your problem. What is your audio source in obs? To get your sound from your gaming PC it should be “line in” and you should see the audio come through
@@RAVisuals so I looked at your video’s section of the OBS settings again. I noticed that you have “desktop audio” and “desktop audio 2” - Disabled, so I did that. great video! quick question. I mainly stream ps5 games.. What do I do if I want to add my ps5 to the dual pc set up?? I just set up the dual pc, now idk how to capture my ps5 audio into obs. I have Elgato hd60s+
Hey! So with a console, the capture card should capture its audio through the hdmi signal. You would just connect your ps5 to your streaming PC instead of your gaming PC
This is a great overview. I wish there was a more detailed setup explained as far as capture card goes, what resolution do you play at, how is all that setup to get to Elgato and end up streaming in 1080p60...
you absolutely can but it still take system resources to capture the footage which can affect performance. ideally, this can all be done on a single PC which is far easier to set up

Im just curious, Since i want my Mic to work on my streaming PC if i ever needed to use it without having my gaming PC turned on, wouldnt i need the GoXLR connected straight to the streaming PC? Where you put all sources at obs? At obs to streaming pc or obs to gaming pc? I mean overlays and etc not where you start streaming ( ofc stream and record at streaming pc obs)
Was there anything you had to do to stop your Sony camera from going to sleep after 30 minutes (or whenever power saver thing kicks on)? Or does the cam link fix that?
the real question is, what are the bare minimum specs for a streaming pc, so the Quality still looks crisp. That's what I want to know :D Thank you for the Video tho, you showcased it very clearly!
I have been building a budget streaming pc, and have been going the ultra budget route. I now have a i5 3350p (had that laying around) and a gtx 1650 super i managed to pick up for 100 euro's. The gtx 1650 super has the same nvenc chip as the rtx cards do, so it's amazing value for a streaming pc. Granted, i have yet to stream with it, but the test recordings i did (with the "output the same as stream" setting in obs turned on) looked really good! I cannot recommend getting something like a gtx 650 because even though that does have an nvenc chip, it's old nvenc and just looked horrible in my case atleast.
@@magiuskarpus damn. Funny you mention that, because I got a GTX 650 laying around 😅 shame my GTX 970 just died x.X Thank you very much for your tips tho! really appreciate that

Thank you for this. This is going to be the year where I step into two pc streaming. I want to use a cartoon puppet though from Character Animator which sucks up a lot of my GPU.
Because of the way the audio works with the goXLR. I haven’t figured out a way to make everything work using it on the streaming pc. You have to have the goXLR plugged into your gaming pc so you can hear your game audio and adjust it. I would like to be able to switch it up so I can use voicemod but i may just have to use something like voicemeter to make that happen
Thanks for all the information… I am using a gaming laptop as a streaming pc… and facing a noise issue from the LINE IN & LINE OUT from GoXLR to Streaming PC How can I fix that issue? 🤐
No worries man! To fix this noise issue, I picked up 2 "ground noise isolators" from amazon. they should be linked in the description! also, make sure you don't have your smartphone or anything like that near the goxlr or it will cause interference
Hey man! First of all Thank you for an amazing video! 😃 I have one problem.. I have a wireless Headset.. I checked a guy that showed how to make this works with xlr Mini. Worked super but now i have upgraded to a dual pc streaming setup. I have plugged everything as you instruced. But you have a 3,5mm Headset right? You plug it in the front of The xlr? I wonder if i need a aux splitter to get The audio right. Atm i cant hear a god damn thing 😅😅 I hope that you can help me with this problem :/
where di you connect your elgato 4k capture device to? was it to the gaming pc or the streaming pc? i have mine connected to the gaming pc and am trying to stream it capture it on my laptop but im being hit with "no capture devices found" but my gaming pc recognized it in the display options, its just not being outputted to the streaming pc
I have my card in my streaming PC. I connect the HDMI cable from the back of my GPU on my gaming PC to the "IN" on the elgato and it picks up the signal that way. Your situation sounds a bit different though.
So, i followed and everything worked great, the only issue is, removing the music from the twitch vod track, but since cant seperate music from spotify, cause it all goes thru line in, if I uncheck box 2, it wont record anything to my twitch vod any suggestions?
Question... I think I set it up the way you described, thank you for explaining this all so clearly! I do run into a problem though... All audio coming from from my gaming PC goes to one source on the streaming PC. I find this SUPER annoying.. Is there a way to split this? So having the microphone and gaming sound seperately in OBS? Thanks for any reply!
i've searched far and beyond but couldnt find an answer.. with the 4k60 pro you only connected the IN port right? you're not using the elgato passtrough. Like this you can still game on the gaming pc without needing the streaming pc to be turned on. Does having 2 outputs on the gpu (one for your gaming monitor and one for the elgato) affect latency in any way?
Hey man awesome video ! When you have time I was wondering how did you utilize the ground loop noise isolators ? I’m kinda copying your audio setup and I was wondering where you put those
awesome video. Im moving to a two pc setup. Im missing one piece... the cam link. I was weary about it being usb. have you seen any lagging with it? thanks
What settings (gaming PC) do you use for display if you both HDMI and Display Port? I ask because DP you mentioned 1440p165 and the 4k60 pro only does 1440p144hz (bypass)?
wait. so you dont have to use passthrough? you can run a dp cable to your main monitor and then run an hdmi cable through the elgato and still capture the screen?
??Can I do this with a ps5 and pc on a single monitor (samsung G9 49") using pbp or pip mode?? The ps5 would be the gaming machine, and the pc is to run obs
Do I need to get the 4k elgato? or i can just get the hd60s? I will be rocking asus rog zephyrus g16 for streaming laptop and my gaming pc will be ryzen 9 5900x with rtx 3060.

Curious why your running any programs beside a game on the gaming pc and not using discord and Spotify on the streaming pc
Thanks for all the information… I am using a gaming laptop as a streaming pc… and facing a noise issue from the LINE IN & LINE OUT from GoXLR to Streaming PC
How can I fix that issue? 🤐
No worries man! To fix this noise issue, I picked up 2 "ground noise isolators" from amazon. they should be linked in the description! also, make sure you don't have your smartphone or anything like that near the goxlr or it will cause interference
Hey man! First of all Thank you for an amazing video! 😃
I have one problem..
Atm i cant hear a god damn thing 😅😅
I hope that you can help me with this problem :/
I would imagine with the GoXLR you lose your surround sound for game audio to your headset. Would this be correct?
Question please: if you didnt connect headset to Gaming PC, how do you get surround/sonar quality?
What about the line in / line out settings ? I need that part set up correctly
I explained the line in and out settings in the middle of the video when I mention the goxlr!
Can you use 2 internets? One for the stream and one for gaming?
where di you connect your elgato 4k capture device to? was it to the gaming pc or the streaming pc? i have mine connected to the gaming pc and am trying to stream it capture it on my laptop but im being hit with "no capture devices found" but my gaming pc recognized it in the display options, its just not being outputted to the streaming pc
I have my card in my streaming PC. I connect the HDMI cable from the back of my GPU on my gaming PC to the "IN" on the elgato and it picks up the signal that way. Your situation sounds a bit different though.
thanks for the video bro!
So, i followed and everything worked great, the only issue is, removing the music from the twitch vod track, but since cant seperate music from spotify, cause it all goes thru line in, if I uncheck box 2, it wont record anything to my twitch vod
any suggestions?
To separate your music (if your using copyrighted tracks) you have to use a separate routing software like voicemeeter to make that happen.
Thanks for any reply!
find any solution to this?
@@CrackedZac Sadly, no. Its not possible I think.. Just have to use 1 source and thats it
@@pjew wow really? that is a HUGE downside to a dual pc setup I've never heard anyone talk about
Can you use a laptop to stream like a dual setup?
Why use nvenc in streaming pc and not the cpu to encode at 90-100%?
This was a amazing tutorial, and you play tarkov i see :D my favorite game
Thank you so much! Yes i do! I stream Tarkov all the time 🤘🏼
@@RAVisuals maybe I'm blind also, but can't see you twitch link?
i've searched far and beyond but couldnt find an answer.. with the 4k60 pro you only connected the IN port right? you're not using the elgato passtrough. Like this you can still game on the gaming pc without needing the streaming pc to be turned on. Does having 2 outputs on the gpu (one for your gaming monitor and one for the elgato) affect latency in any way?
Could I use a Focusrite to capture my Gaming PC’s audio?
Where is your Stream Starting overlay from?
NERDORDIE.com
Hey man awesome video ! When you have time I was wondering how did you utilize the ground loop noise isolators ? I’m kinda copying your audio setup and I was wondering where you put those
Is the capture card inserted in the gaming or streaming pc
awesome video. Im moving to a two pc setup. Im missing one piece... the cam link. I was weary about it being usb. have you seen any lagging with it? thanks
Nope! it just sometimes needs to be unplugged and re-plugged in but usually its perfectly fine!
ive done all of this but everytime i try to load up a game my screen on both monitors go black and my pc crashes...
Does the Elgato 4k60 pro hold 240fps with 240hz monitor?
Also, Am i able to run discord and spotify on my streaming pc and still be able to hear that audio?
What settings (gaming PC) do you use for display if you both HDMI and Display Port? I ask because DP you mentioned 1440p165 and the 4k60 pro only does 1440p144hz (bypass)?
I said everything up with the 3.5 mm wires. I keep on getting a buzzing I can’t get rid of how do I fix it?
wait. so you dont have to use passthrough? you can run a dp cable to your main monitor and then run an hdmi cable through the elgato and still capture the screen?
Is there any Input delay for example for my Controller or delay in General When i Game and Stream on the Same PC?
??Can I do this with a ps5 and pc on a single monitor (samsung G9 49") using pbp or pip mode??
The ps5 would be the gaming machine, and the pc is to run obs
Amazing video subbed and liked
Awesome thank you!
Would a 2070 Super + 3900x for streaming and a 3090 Ti FE + 7950x for gaming be good? I’d be playing and streaming in 1440p.
that would be more than enough!
Do I need to get the 4k elgato? or i can just get the hd60s? I will be rocking asus rog zephyrus g16 for streaming laptop and my gaming pc will be ryzen 9 5900x with rtx 3060.
Have you got any problems with async from video and audio? If yes, how have you solved it?
