Hello! I have another question. I can see that the Mic and Game System are on separate tracks on the Voicemeter Banana but for some reason when OBS receives it, it is on the "Mic/Aux" track for OBS. The properties it uses in OBS for Mic/Aux is VoiceMeter Aux Output. How do I configure the settings so I can separate the Mic and Game Systems on separate audio sources on OBS? I've been testing it out and cannot get it to work. Thanks in advance!
After some testing, I know I can separate it if I play for example audio on the streaming PC, then it will recognize the output separately from the audio coming from Gaming PC. But if I try to play music from the Gaming PC, I cannot separate the audio from game or music from the MIC input.
Using Voicemeeter Banana, you can have a max of 2 separated audio tracks on your streaming system. In this Guide they are set up as follows: B1 System audio from your streaming PC B2 Mic and system audio from your gaming PC IF you are OK with not having the sound of your Streaming PC on your gaming PC (alerts) you can do what I will describe further down below. If you need to have 3 dedicated inputs in OBS for your Mic, your gaming system and your streaming system you need to buy and install voicemeeter potato on your streaming PC as this gives you 3 instead of 2 virtual outputs. Here is how to separate gaming system audio from your mic (you loose Alerts on your gaming system) on the streaming PC: Voicemeeter: On the IN1 (labeled MIC) set the audio routing to go to B1 instead of B2. On the B1 bus (labeled SYSTEM) disable the B1 button. VBAN: Disable the outgoing stream by pressing the green OB button to the left, so it does not light up green. In OBS Studio define 2 audio inputs: VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO (This is your Mic) VB-Audio Voicemeeter AUX (This is your game system) If you require to also have your stream alerts you need to buy and install voicemeeter potato on both of your systems and simply add a third VBAN stream for your music (BUS B3 going to BUS A4). Which you then route the B3 on your streaming system.

@@GreenBoxMedia Hi again - I wanted to follow up with an observation about volume levels. On my gaming PC, I notice that when adjusting the volume of the current audio device (which is the Voice Meeter Input) it doesn't _actually_ affect the volume level it seems. Instead, if I want louder audio I need to change to whatever my Hardware Out device is in Voice Meeter (temporarily losing audio) and then adjust it via my normal Windows controls, and change back. Is there any nicer way around this?
@@five2112 for streaming i have short cuts on my stream deck to up or down the volume inside voicemeeter using the stream deck plugin. However understanding that plugin will take some time.
Hey GreenBox thank you for this video & thanks for replying to my enquiry so quickly. I have tried to follow this method using my new elgato hd60 x but I am doing something wrong. I have an appointment tomorrow with GreenBox to hopefully get me set up as I am a complete novice when it comes to streaming software & streaming in general. I will post more feedback after we speak more tomorrow. I'd like to say thank you for the video so informative & useful just a shame I'm such a novice I can't get it to fully work. I have another issue that my elagato 4k capture software dosent pick up audio (a very common issue) but I am hoping that once voicemeter is set up I will get my game/voice & friends voice audio in obs & I can begin live streaming. Thanks again GreenBox 🤙💚🏴 Update- I've been working on voicemeter since I posted this comment & I now have audio from my gaming pc & it's picking up my mic the problem is on the streaming pc the sound is really distorted. I have one error on my gaming pc & 2 on my streaming pc in voice banana so it's obviously that. I have been going for 4 days now on this. I hope we can find a solution tomorrow 🙏🏻 So my appointment went extremely well & I am glad to report that GreenBox is a wizard!! Fixed my issues for me- well worth the price. I can now do everything I wanted with my dual pc setup I wanted to. I missed one or two steps in voicemeter banana but GreenBox sorted that & my obs. Everything looks & sounds great- such an amazing service & such an underrated youtuber. Thank you GreenBox!! 🤙💚🏴
Thanks. this video really helped. But at the end, when setting the mic to aux output in OBS, that is where all your audio comes though, not just the mic. I was stuck at this point until I noticed my mic meter reacting in XSplit. Otherwise, best and easiest to follow tutorial.
Greatly appreciate your educational video, sir. You deserve a lot more exposure since this has been one of the best and easiest tutorials I've ever followed! Based on your tutorial I was able to finally connect my Streaming and Gaming PC to receive audio between themselves. That being said, I'm struggling with finishing up with setting up my audio for OBS (in my case I use Streamlabs, but I assume they are similar). Even after following your steps I still do not find the "Voicemeter AUX Output" as an option, I only have Voicemeter In from 1 to 5 / Voicemeter Input / Voicemeter VAIO3 Input / Voicemeter AUX Input. Surely I'm not doing something correct, but can't quite figure out where/what went wrong. Please let me know what I can do to fix and finalize this issues as before I was able to find your video, I was stuck with this issue for months... Bless you in advance!
Can't really thank you enough. Even though you don't use elgato capture card. I managed to mix up your tutorial and make it work via my elgato to send the audio back and forth between both pcs.
Hey for a while I am having audio stutter issue on my streaming pc but not on the gaming pc. Do you know how to fix it? I tried so man things.@@GreenBoxMedia
Guide is clear and I went back over everything 40 times. Before I started doing the vban I could hear my game going thru my stream pc, after I set up vban.. Got nothing. Mic isn't showing activity on steam pc either, weird. Everything is connected and talking to each other but no mic coming thru on stream pc side
Just to double-check what you just said. You could hear your game going from your gaming system over to your streaming system but once you set up VBAN you did not? Were you using another solution before, or do you mean it was working using Voicemeeter only before? My first guess would be that you either have security settings (windows 11 only) that don't allow voicemeeter to access your audio devices Or that there is something wrong with the network. Are all green lights (next to the IP) in the VBAN panel green? Have you tried TEMPORARLY disable the Windows firewall on both system to see if it's a firewall issue?
I'm having some trouble. Firstly, I can't get the system audio to reroute on the gaming PC. I didn't think this was important so moved on. Later, when I'm setting up the stream IP destinations, I get a red error light on the microphone, and the streaming PC does not pick up the microphone from the gaming PC. EDIT: I use a KVM and for some reason using it to swap from one PC to the other would reset the audio connection. I found the solution was to go under Menu and check Auto Restart Audio Engine Thanks for the video GreenBox!
Finally, the best video on RUclips about voicemeeter ❤️ Thank you Sir! P.S: With this setup anyone facing delay or something like that related to the audio of the stream? Thanks!
There should be no delay when connecting via cable instead of Wifi, however if you face delay just set the audio source on OBS to have negative delay and it should be fixed.
@@GreenBoxMedia I fixed these with cable connection :D Another problem I have. I did everything like in this tutorial but when I add Aux Output in OBS, If I play youtube or anything on gaming PC the "Stream alerts" option from Streaming PC is sending back the audio from stream pc to gaming pc and like this I hear it twice. What options I have to avoid this? Like I want to send the gaming PC audio/youtube/gaming to streaming PC and to OBS to capture it but I don't want to send it all back to the gaming PC . Any options? Thanks!
Maybe is simple as that: I Uncheck the A1 on gaming PC under System in voicemeeter? :D If I check it I hear it twice if I uncheck there is one audio only. A1 unchecked if I mute OBS on streaming PC there is no audio at all. I think this is the option to don't hear gaming pc and streaming pc twice. :D
It seems that the lag has disappeared but I get crackling in sound a lot and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I tried the buffer options but none solved that, I tried wdm and mme option but neither that helped.
When im choosing "Input" in hardware out section and selecting my Hardware out "Voicemeter" picks sound but i cant really hear (im using USB headset). is there any way to do it? becouse i want to hear my "gaming pc" audio on my headphones as well.
If anyone has an issue with getting the stream in vban to work, make sure you change your network profile from public to private. This can be done by opening network settings, and opening the properties of the network you are currently on.
Correction: DO NOT DO THIS if you are NOT on a private network! (Security Hazzard) If you missed the firewall exclusion rule prompt during initial installation use the manual provided on the Voicemeeter Website to manually open the necessary ports on your windows Firewalls.
such a great video and perfectly explains how to set up VM for duel stream. I’ve done this multiple times with no issues, not sure if it’s because i’m running Windows 11 on my steaming comp and 10 on my gaming everything works fine but I cannot get the audio to work with stream labs or obs audio works fine between the two voicemeeter programs! Driving me nuts!
For some reason the nothing pops up on the incoming streams spot on my streaming pc. and i looking on the website for a manual and cant seem to figure it out please help!
Im also having same issue did you fix it ? Im sending outgoing streams with proper ip but the streaming vban is not getting incoming streams . Only Mic alerts from streaming pc is coming to gaming pc which is not that important to me .😅
This is most likely a firewall issue. To troubleshoot you can temporarily disable the firewalls on both systems if this fixes the problem make sure to reactivate the firewall and add a rule for the application.
B2 Mic and system audio from your gaming PC
IF you are OK with not having the sound of your Streaming PC on your gaming PC (alerts) you can do what I will describe further down below.
If you need to have 3 dedicated inputs in OBS for your Mic, your gaming system and your streaming system you need to buy and install voicemeeter potato on your streaming PC as this gives you 3 instead of 2 virtual outputs.
Here is how to separate gaming system audio from your mic (you loose Alerts on your gaming system)
on the streaming PC:
Voicemeeter:
On the IN1 (labeled MIC) set the audio routing to go to B1 instead of B2.
On the B1 bus (labeled SYSTEM) disable the B1 button.
VBAN:
Disable the outgoing stream by pressing the green OB button to the left, so it does not light up green.
In OBS Studio define 2 audio inputs:
VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO (This is your Mic)
VB-Audio Voicemeeter AUX (This is your game system)
If you require to also have your stream alerts you need to buy and install voicemeeter potato on both of your systems and simply add a third VBAN stream for your music (BUS B3 going to BUS A4). Which you then route the B3 on your streaming system.

This was very helpful however I found it a little confusing as you didn't explain A and B very clearly IMO. I had to work out exactly why you were putting certain things as A and certain things as B and work out my own way around. Thanks for the video. Albeit still very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback
This was immensely helpful and should have more views. Thank you for your hard work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Holy I'm glad this video exist, thanks!
Happy to help ✌️
My man, what an absolute Chad. Thank you for your charity!
Glad when it was helpful to you!
this help me alot in my streaming setup.. thank you so much..
Dude thx for the effort, your video is the best, easy to understand for something that can be quite a problem. Thx
Happy to here it helped ✌️
Damn wish i found this vid sooner. Thanx for this upload brother!!
Wow, all clear bro, later today gonna try it out, hopefully i wont get the buzzing pc noise what i get using hardware audio. Will come back to let you know, thanks so far😊
There is some delay in sound and game, is there some setting to fix that?
you can add a negative delay to the audio in OBS that should fix it.
@@GreenBoxMedia thx, gonna try it
thank you for helping me out now i can dual stream
Glad I could help
You are a powerful wizard. It must have taken years of study at the arcane arts to master this - thank you so much for sharing! Saved literal hours of time for me. \o/
Thanks, ye, this video was one of the more advanced ones.
This video saved me! Thx
Happy to help!
this worked perfectly
Thanks for the info!
thank you for the really helpful tutorial :)
Thanks again GreenBox
🤙💚🏴
Update- I've been working on voicemeter since I posted this comment & I now have audio from my gaming pc & it's picking up my mic the problem is on the streaming pc the sound is really distorted. I have one error on my gaming pc & 2 on my streaming pc in voice banana so it's obviously that. I have been going for 4 days now on this. I hope we can find a solution tomorrow 🙏🏻
So my appointment went extremely well & I am glad to report that GreenBox is a wizard!!
Exactly what I needed! Thanks!
Happy to help ✌️
thank you so much i couldnt figure this out and you helped a ton
Glad I could help!
I really appreciated the concise and clear instructions, thanks!
You are most welcome ✌️
@@GreenBoxMedia I do think I did something wrong. I am getting a loop of me talking on on my mic through the stream alerts channel on voicemeeter.
this is so an timesaver !!! i have spend over 3 years to setup my streams but now are them near perfect
thanks for this how to

You're very welcome, glad I could help 👍
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! SUBSCRIBED!
You are welcome
everytime i set my default mic to voicemeter input i lose all sound.
Even two years later and this video is relevant
I hope this is the last video I ever had to make on this topic :)
It's straightforward and if following the steps, there's really no reason for messing up. As for default audio, that's up to the user @@GreenBoxMedia
Awesome. Works perfectly
Happy to help!
Can't really thank you enough. Even though you don't use elgato capture card. I managed to mix up your tutorial and make it work via my elgato to send the audio back and forth between both pcs.
How? I’m so confused
how did you do that bro with the capture card?
Set the capture card / graphics card as your hardware out and inputs. However I recommend sticking to VBAN
My first guess would be that you either have security settings (windows 11 only) that don't allow voicemeeter to access your audio devices
Or that there is something wrong with the network.
I found the solution was to go under Menu and check Auto Restart Audio Engine
Thanks for the video GreenBox!
You are reallly realllyy awasomeeeee
Just love it. Well done buddy
Glad it helped you 👍
Excellent video! You saved my ass with this one.
You are welcome!
This was amazing thank you!
I tried the buffer options but none solved that, I tried wdm and mme option but neither that helped.
wow !!!!
DUDE YOUR THE MAN
THIS WORKED I LOVE U❤❤❤❤
Congratulation, am french and i understand all this video. Thank's a lot men u save me lmao^^
Glad I could help!
When im choosing "Input" in hardware out section and selecting my Hardware out "Voicemeter" picks sound but i cant really hear (im using USB headset). is there any way to do it? becouse i want to hear my "gaming pc" audio on my headphones as well.
Thanks a lot mate i realy needed
Happy to help ✌️
If anyone has an issue with getting the stream in vban to work, make sure you change your network profile from public to private. This can be done by opening network settings, and opening the properties of the network you are currently on.
Correction:
DO NOT DO THIS if you are NOT on a private network! (Security Hazzard) If you missed the firewall exclusion rule prompt during initial installation use the manual provided on the Voicemeeter Website to manually open the necessary ports on your windows Firewalls.
Thanks so much! I was so lost as to why my set up wasn't detecting when the video showed no issue lol.
@@GreenBoxMedia im still confused on how to do this. Nothing is popping up on incoming streams
VERY HELPFUL!!!
You are awesome my man! TY VERY MUCH!
Glad I could help!
dude , i love u ♥ Thank u very much!!!
Weird issue. OBS is picking up all audio through voicemeeter, but it wont pick up audio from any games. Thoughts?
Make sure your default output is Voicemeeter and your games use your default output/ Voicemeeter output
INSANE! THANK YOU
For some reason, OBS will not detect my gaming PC audio at all. Any idea why?

Glad it was helpful :)
such a great video and perfectly explains how to set up VM for duel stream. I’ve done this multiple times with no issues, not sure if it’s because i’m running Windows 11 on my steaming comp and 10 on my gaming everything works fine but I cannot get the audio to work with stream labs or obs audio works fine between the two voicemeeter programs! Driving me nuts!
Check if Voicemeeter has the permission to access the audio devices this might stop it from sending audio to the drivers
@@GreenBoxMedia Got it working! Thanks for the tip sir!
HOW YOU GET IT WORKING? my audio is coming through voicemeter just not in obs!

i did all this but can't get my gaming desktop audio to my streaming PC. The only audio that transfers if my Mic audio. how do i fix this?
Im also having same issue did you fix it ? Im sending outgoing streams with proper ip but the streaming vban is not getting incoming streams . Only Mic alerts from streaming pc is coming to gaming pc which is not that important to me .😅
@@St4rgates i couldnt figure it out lol i was ripping my hair out until i gave up. sorry bro
This is most likely a firewall issue. To troubleshoot you can temporarily disable the firewalls on both systems if this fixes the problem make sure to reactivate the firewall and add a rule for the application.
