Wrap the braided hose in electrical tape before cutting them. This will prevent it from fraying. The yellow does add a nice touch though. I wonder if you placed a simple U.V. LED some where behind your hood sign if it would illuminate the hoses as well as your sighn.
looks good. Real good. Trick with that hose cover is to wrap it in a masking tape. I prefer the blue painters tape. then cut it in the middle of the taped area. Helps to hold it together. I would still do your burn on it to make a finished job, but the tape is your extra set of hands...
