Great video - I actually just now did one of these bolt kits, and it turned out wonderfully. It was more out of necessity for me, since the plastic bolts were all failing and I could pop out all the plastic inserts by hand. Definitely spruces up the engine bay, and is worth the extra couple bucks for someone else to collect and ship it all out for you. I especially like how an all-silver kit matches some of the car's interior details.
What a well timed video! I agree stock fittings are fine but after 20 years they are basically useless as they get damaged from incorrect use, using the wrong tool etc. some of the off the shelf kits are a steal for the money. I thought I’d share how to make your own kit for those who wanted something a little more unique or oem 🙂
Videos like this about singular topics is greatly appreciated. Your knowledge and advice are presented well and show how much you care about the TT. Thank you.
I wish you'd made this video earlier... I spent a good couple of days making sure I was ordering the right bolts and washers for my dress up kit last year 😂
I actually ended up having to replace the intake manifold plastic trim as the PO had mullered the plastic bolts!
Always the way! Yeah it’s quite a common sight seeing them all messed up
Fair play, Dom. These vids are great and massively helpful 👍
Great video Dom - thanks for sharing
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it mate
Lovely!😍
Thank you! 😊
Nice to see your new car being brought up to spec Dom😉. I have the dip stick and engine bay dress up kit. although you really have to be careful with how much you snip off the dipstick!...mine still needs a bloody good wash and polish!
I actually ended up putting a normal dip stick back in as where that one had been trimmed badly it was letting pressure out when tested haha. Yeah cars really coming together. I haven’t washed my car in months so your not alone
@@TheParrottBros Hopefully this dirty car thing might catch on🤣
I put a set with dimpled washers that match the interior trim. The only downside has been that my mechanic would lose them during maintenance. I learned to remove them before dropping of my car.
Yeah that’s very frustrating. It’s not hard to put them all on a magnet tray when working on it 😅
I always go to your channel and The volksWizard for all my VAG content😊
Thanks buddy means a lot that 😎
Again another nice simple mod that Tidy’s up the engine bay 👌
Thanks buddy, feels good to cover the small and easy tasks again as it seems like I’m always doing videos about expensive parts haha
Belle vidéo 👌 😉. TT 👍
Why thank you buddy
Not expensive but makes a huge difference. Did this in first year of owning my tt as there were odd bolts, chewed ones and so own. Thanks to you, BWS TT and Andy Charger I had learned such a lot and at the same time saved more than a few bob,
Thanks for the feedback & nice to hear the videos are getting put too good use 😎
Nice!
Thank you
I like the anodized black ones with a set of anodized black washers it's the little bits that make a car and looked cared for . For example I have a friend that makes stuff out of carbon fibre got him to do my engine cover and all the plastic parts in my b5 S4 and it looks factory cost me the best part of £400 but to me it was a bargain because of the way it makes the car look
Ooo mate that sounds awesome. I miss the sound of my b5 s4…. What a car!
Just couldn’t be dealing with working on or removing the engine for every big job 😂
@@TheParrottBros lol tell me about it luckily every big job is been done now so all I have to do now is enjoy it fingers crossed I've got a fair few years before anything goes wrong shouldn't really be saying that to be fair I'll only go ahead and jinx myself PS keep up the good work love the channel dude
Love a bling video lol dom what size of cage nuts do I need to hold the engine cover on mines has standard fittings I want to fit cage nuts so I can fit the counter sunk washers?
Hey mate. They are m6 cage nuts. Want remember off hand that size of the slot they drop into though. Worth just checking with a measuring tape. I reckon 6-9mm
Thx dom
Do you know of a kit for a mk4 golf r32? Thanks great video
They should be very similar, I don’t know of a kit but I’ve never looked for that model
What charge pipe is that and does it use the old coupler for the turbo to charge pipe
Is a track slag pipe and it uses a straight silicone joiner rather than the old 90 degree bend
